The addition of nanoparticles to a polymer matrix can in certain cases induce a reduction in viscosity, with respect to the pure matrix, in the resulting composites. This counterintuitive phenomenon cannot be explained using the most common rheological models. For this reason, it has been chosen as a good example in this paper to demonstrate the value and methods of dynamic X-ray and neutron scattering techniques for the investigation of polymer nanocomposites. An overview of the main results on this topic is presented together with an introduction to the basic concepts relating to X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy, neutron backscattering, and neutron spin echo measurements.  相似文献

In practice many problems related to space/time fractional equations depend on fractional parameters. But these fractional parameters are not known a priori in modelling problems. Hence continuity of the solutions with respect to these parameters is important for modelling purposes. In this paper we will study the continuity of the solutions of a class of equations including the Abel equations of the first and second kind, and time fractional diffusion type equations. We consider continuity with respect to the fractional parameters as well as the initial value.  相似文献

This paper deals with the singularly perturbed boundary value problem for a linear second-order delay differential equation. For the numerical solution of this problem, we use an exponentially fitted difference scheme on a uniform mesh which is accomplished by the method of integral identities with the use of exponential basis functions and interpolating quadrature rules with weight and remainder term in integral form. It is shown that one gets first order convergence in the discrete maximum norm, independently of the perturbation parameter. Numerical results are presented which illustrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

A novel triazine-calix[4]arene conjugate was designed and synthesized with the aim to study gas sensing against volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as dichloromethane, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride. This novel compound was fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR along with HRMS and BET analysis. The triazine based calix[4]arene organic materials were fabricated onto quartz glasses and quartz crystal substrates to form a thin film chemical sensor element by using Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. Quartz Crystal Microbalance, UV–Visible Spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy techniques were employed to characterize all these LB thin film layers. Fick's Equations were used for analyzing the swelling process of LB thin film sensor and diffusion coefficient values of organic vapours for swelling were obtained. The initial experiments have revealed that new triazine appended calix[4]arene derivative exhibited an effective chemical gas sensor characteristic with a large response to dichloromethane vapour.  相似文献

The aims of this study are to demonstrate the ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) in the diagnosis and evaluation of vascular involvement in Beh?et's disease. Twelve patients with vascular involvement due to Beh?et's disease were included in this study. We believe that MRI and MRA are safe and noninvasive methods that can be used to confirm and monitor vascular Beh?et's disease.  相似文献

The supramolecular solvent system consists of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and 1-decanol, that was used as an extraction solvent for a microextraction procedure for the preconcentration and separation of Co(II). The proposed supramolecular-based procedure was combined with microsampling flame atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of cobalt at trace levels in water samples. N-Benzoyl-N,N-diisobutylthiourea was used to chelate Co(II) in an aqueous solution. Quantitative extraction efficiency was obtained at pH 6.5. The effects of analytical parameters including pH, amount of ligand, type, ratio and volume of supramolecular solvent, sample volume and interfering ions were investigated for optimisation of the procedure. The proposed supramolecular solvent-based microextraction procedure (Ss-ME) exhibits a limit of detection (LOD) of 1.29 µg L?1 and a limit of quantification (LOQ) of 3.88 µg L?1. The procedure was validated by addition/recovery tests and by applying TMDA 64.2 and TMDA 53.3 water certified reference materials. The microextraction method was successfully applied for the preconcentration and determination of cobalt in water samples.  相似文献

Mining investment has been recognized as capital intensive due mainly to the cost of large equipment. Equipment capital costs for a given operation are usually within the order of hundreds of million dollars but may reach to billion dollars for large companies operating multiple mines. Such large investments require the optimum usage of equipment in a manner that the operating costs are minimized and the utilization of equipment is maximized through optimal scheduling. This optimum usage is required to ensure that the business remains sustainable and financially stable. Most mining operations utilize trucks to haul the mined material. Maintenance is one of the major operating cost items for these fleets as it can reach approximately one hundred million dollars yearly. There is no method or application in the literature that optimizes the utilization for truck fleet over the life of mine. A new approach based on mixed integer programming (MIP) techniques is used for annually scheduling a fixed fleet of mining trucks in a given operation, over a multi-year time horizon to minimize maintenance cost. The model uses the truck age (total hours of usage), maintenance cost and required operating hours to achieve annual production targets to produce an optimum truck schedule. While this paper focuses on scheduling trucks for mining operation, concept can be used in most businesses using equipment with significant maintenance costs. A case study for a large scale gold mine showed an annual discounted (10% rate) maintenance cost saving of over $2M and more than 16% ($21M) of overall maintenance cost reduction over 10 years of mine life, compared with the spreadsheet based approach used currently at the operation.  相似文献
