The analytical capabilities of ICP-AES (ICP) and deuteron activation (associated with prompt gamma-rays and delayed X-rays) for the determination of certain transition metals, were investigated. The sensitivities of the three methods are given, and the general applicability of each technique is evaluated. In the case of ICP, numerical data were obtained from aqueous solutions containing digested plant material. These experimental results were assessed against minimum detectable limits attained in relevant solid matrices that were subjected to prompt gamma-ray and delayed X-ray spectrometry using 5 MeV 2H+ ions. The analytically useful lines originated mainly from (d,p) and (d,n) reactions. The potential of the three techniques for routine analysis is discussed and detailed methodologies are presented.  相似文献

The finite-difference equations which have previously been developed to solve the problem of laminar boundary layer flow about a rotating sphere in an axial stream are analysed according to the available numerical stability theories. This analysis is necessary to determine the restrictions on velocities and mesh sizes required to obtain a convergent numerical solution. Convergence can be achieved if both consistency and stability of the finite-difference equations are fulfilled. The analysis reported in the present paper shows that the developed finite-difference equations are consistent with their original partial differential equations. Also, the analysis proves that the developed finite-difference procedure is numerically stable for all mesh sizes as long as the downstream meridional velocity is non-negative, i.e.as long as no flow reversals occur within the domain of solution.  相似文献

We have studied the acoustic waves in the (0 0 1) and (1 1 0) surfaces of AlN, GaN and InN. We have employed the surface Green function matching method and different sets of calculated elastic constants available in the literature for these materials, because no experimental values are available. Important differences are found for the velocities of the bulk and surface acoustic waves coming from these sets of elastic constants, in such a way that they could be easily measured by ultrasonic and Brillouin techniques. These results together with the expressions obtained here for the velocities of the acoustic waves in high symmetry directions could be used to determine the elastic coefficients of these materials.  相似文献

The reinforcement of a styrene‐butadiene rubber (SBR) by single fillers—carbon black (CB) or multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)—or by mixtures of CB and MWNTs, is investigated. The morphologies, mechanical and electrical properties of the composites, are analyzed. A significant improvement in the tensile properties is observed for samples containing a dual phase. Using atomic force (AFM) and transmission electron (TEM) microscopies, we demonstrate that the double loading improves the dispersion of the nanotubes in SBR. Electrical measurements show lower resistivity and a lower percolation threshhold for composites containing blends of fillers, which provides further evidence of better dispersion. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the present study three-point-bend impact experiments were conducted using an instrumented Charpy pendulum with a laser displacement measurement to better understand the correlation between impact velocity and the dynamic effects observed on the load-time curves. The experiments were performed at impact velocities ranging from 1 to 4 m/s.The aim of this work is to measure the dynamic fracture toughness at high impact velocities where the classical method is limited by the inertial effects. The direct measurements of the specimen deflection are successfully used for the toughness evaluation. The results obtained with this method, which are compared to other studies, indicate that this approach seems promising for brittle materials such as PMMA.  相似文献

Finally, we show that confinement is absolute at certain energy scale limit where the Planck energy is Mp = (10)19 Gev and the expectation value of a number of generation equal to 16 + k plays a crucial role. We revise the notion of von Neumann regularity in JB^*-triples by finding a new characterisation in terms of the range of the quadratic operator Q(a). We introduce the quadratic conorm of an element a in a JB^*-triple as the minimum reduced modulus of the mapping Q(a). It is shown that the quadratic conorm of a coincides with the infimum of the squares of the points in the triple spectrum of a. It is established that a contractive bijection between JBW^*-triples is a triple isomorphism if, and only if, it preserves quadratic conorms. The continuity of the quadratic conorm and the generalized inverse are discussed. Some applications to C^*-algebras and von Neumann algebras are also studied.  相似文献

The effect of the medium composition (monomer and solvent) on the kinetics of dispersion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was studied via reaction calorimetry. It was found that increasing the monomer concentration increased the reaction rate; the exponent of the dependency of the initial reaction rate on the MMA concentration was found to be 0.93. Narrow particle size distributions were achieved at the lower monomer concentrations (0.24–0.81 mol/L) and a minimum size (2.45 μm) was found at an intermediate concentration (0.44 mol/L). The average molecular weight of the PMMA increased and the molecular weight distribution broadened with increasing monomer concentration. During a dispersion polymerization, the MMA concentration was found to decrease linearly with conversion in both phases, whereas the ratio of concentrations in the particles and continuous phase ([M]p/[M]c) remained constant (0.47) with partitioning favoring the continuous phase. The average number of free radicals per particle in MMA dispersion polymerization was estimated to be high from the nucleation stage onward (>5000). The increasing rate during the first ~ 40% conversion was primarily caused by the increasing volume of the polymer particle phase. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An in vitro investigation of the kinetics of the complex system of acid‐catalyzed conversions and subsequent reactions of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs; omeprazole, lansoprazole and pantoprazole) was carried out using differential pulse polarography at the static mercury drop electrode. Reactions were investigated in the presence of 2‐mercaptoethanol, in solutions buffered to pH values ranging from 2.0 to 5.0. The first‐order reaction network was proposed for all conversions. The rate of degradation of PPIs and subsequent reactions with 2‐mercaptoethanol were found to follow the following general order: lansoprazole > omeprazole > pantoprazole. The rate of conversion of PPIs into sulfenic acid was found to be directly dependent on the basicity of benzimidazole nitrogen of PPIs, which determines the electrophilic reactivity of the adjacent carbon (C2). The rate of conversion of the sulfenic acid of PPIs into the disulfide (the inhibition reaction) was found to be dependent on the electrophilicity of the sulfur atom of the sulfenic acid. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. When applying a diagnostic technique to complex systems, whose dynamics, constraints, and environment evolve over time, being able to re-evaluate the residuals that are capable of detecting defaults and proposing the most appropriate ones can quickly prove to make sense. For this purpose, the concept of adaptive diagnosis is introduced. In this work, the contributions of information theory are investigated in order to propose a Fault-Tolerant multi-sensor data fusion framework. This work is part of studies proposing an architecture combining a stochastic filter for state estimation with a diagnostic layer with the aim of proposing a safe and accurate state estimation from potentially inconsistent or erroneous sensors measurements. From the design of the residuals, using α-Rényi Divergence (α-RD), to the optimization of the decision threshold, through the establishment of a function that is dedicated to the choice of α at each moment, we detail each step of the proposed automated decision-support framework. We also dwell on: (1) the consequences of the degree of freedom provided by this α parameter and on (2) the application-dictated policy to design the α tuning function playing on the overall performance of the system (detection rate, false alarms, and missed detection rates). Finally, we present a real application case on which this framework has been tested. The problem of multi-sensor localization, integrating sensors whose operating range is variable according to the environment crossed, is a case study to illustrate the contributions of such an approach and show the performance.  相似文献
