A low drive-voltage optical modulator using a Ti-diffused UNbO3 optical waveguide has been fabricated. Stabilization against ambient temperature change was realized by using a miniature halfwave plate. The halfwave voltage, 3 dB bandwidth, optical insertion loss and extinction ratio were 3·8 V (at 1·06m wavelength), 850 MHz, 10 dB and 13 dB, respectively. A reduction scheme for the optical absorption caused by metallic electrodes, and an analysis of the modulator high frequency response are also reported.  相似文献

The microwave spectrum of the SiF radical was observed in both 2Π12 and 2Π32 of the ground vibronic state. The SiF radical was produced by a dc discharge either in a SiF4SiH4 mixture or in a transient molecule SiF2 generated by the reaction of SiF4 with heated solid silicon. The latter gave twice as intense a spectrum. A least-squares fit to the observed spectrum showed the rotational constant and the centrifugal distortion constant to be 17 350.2752(63) and 0.03188(13) MHz, respectively, with three standard errors in parentheses applying to the last digits of the constants. The lambda-doubling parameter p0 was found to be negative, ?87.67 MHz, indicating that the 2Σ+ excited state contributions dominate over those of 2Σ?. All four hyperfine coupling constants a, b, c, and d were determined and were employed to discuss the unpaired-electron spin and orbital distributions in the SiF radical.  相似文献

The cw dye laser excitation spectrum of the A?1A″(050) ← X?1A′(000) vibronic band of HCCl was observed between 16 539 and 16 656 cm?1 with the Doppler-limited resolution, 0.03 cm?1. The HCCl molecule was generated by the reaction of discharged CF4 with CH3Cl. The observed spectra were assigned to c-type transitions with ΔKa = ±1 and also to axis-switching transitions with ΔKa = 0 or ?2, but all with Ka = 0, both for HC35Cl and HC37Cl. A rotational analysis yielded the rotational constants and quartic centrifugal distortion constants for the ground vibronic state and the band origin. A weak vibronic band, about one-third as intense as the main band, was found at about 57 cm?1 to the violet of the main band for both isotopic species, and was ascribed to a transition from the ground vibronic state to a vibrational level, possibly (041), of the à state. The rotational levels of HC35Cl in the à state showed a large perturbation; the J′ = 8, 9, and 10 levels were found to be split into two components. A normal coordinate analysis was carried out to calculate the centrifugal distortion constants and the inertia defect, which were in fair agreement with the observed values. The molecular structure of HCCl in the ground vibronic state was recalculated from the rotational constants of the two isotopic species combined with the 0.75B0 + 0.25C0 value previously reported for DC35Cl.  相似文献

We report total-energy electronic structure calculations that provide energetics of encapsulation of C60 in the carbon nanotube and electronic structures of the resulting carbon peapods. We find that the encapsulating process is exothermic for the (10,10) nanotube, whereas the processes are endothermic for the (8,8) and (9,9) nanotubes, indicative that the minimum radius of the nanotube for the encapsulation is 6.4 A. We also find that the C(60)@(10,10) is a metal with multicarriers each of which distributes either along the nanotube or on the C60 chain. This unusual feature is due to the nearly free electron state that is inherent to hierarchical solids with sufficient space inside.  相似文献

Long pulse operation up to 1 msec of a high frequency gyrotron with a pulse magnet has been successfully carried out in a frequency range including 1 THz. In the experiments, the timing of an electron beam pulse injection is adjusted at the top of the magnetic field pulse, where the variation of field intensity is negligible. The operation cavity modes seem to be TE1, 12 and TE4,12 at the second harmonics. The corresponding frequencies are 903 GHz and 1,013 GHz, respectively. Additionally several features of radiation measurement results of the gyrotron are described and brief considerations are presented.  相似文献

The data on the vector A y and tensor A yy , A xx , A xz analyzing powers for the d3H p reaction have been obtained at the energy of the initial deuteron of 200MeV in the angular range of 0–95 degrees in the c.m.s. The calculations performed within one-nucleon exchange model with the use of the standard three-nucleon bound state wave functions fail to reproduce the data on the tensor analyzing powers.  相似文献

Saturn-like systems consisting of nanoscale rings and spheres are fascinating motifs in supramolecular chemistry. Several ring molecules are known to include spherical molecules at the center of the cavity via noncovalent attractive interactions. In this Minireview, we generalize the molecular design, the structural features, and the supramolecular chemistry of such “nano-Saturns”, which consist of monocyclic rings and fullerene spheres (mainly C60), on the basis of previous experimental and theoretical studies. Ring molecules are classified into three types (loop, belt, and disk) according to their shapes and possible interactions. Whereas typical belt-shaped rings tend to form tight complexes due to the wide contact area via π–π interactions, flat disk-shaped rings generally form weak complexes due to the narrow contact area mainly via CH–π interactions. In spite of the small association energies, disk-shaped rings are attractive because such rings can mimic the planet Saturn precisely as exemplified by an anthracene cyclic hexamer–C60 complex.  相似文献
