On the possible connection between renormalization-groups and nonlinear semi-groups

Some algebraic properties of the renormalization-group (RNG) are studied using the nonlinear semi-group theory. The RNG is defined in an axiomatic manner as a bounded nonlinear semi-group on an abstract Banach space. Perturbations of the fixed point of RNG and the problem of marginality are investigated using a hierarchy of nonlinear semi-groups.

Measuring the performance of manufacturing firms with super slacks based model of data envelopment analysis: An application of 500 major industrial enterprises in Turkey

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a mathematical programming technique which has a wide application area. There are many applications of DEA to measure firms’ performance. Balance sheet data is frequently used in order to measure performance of firms through DEA. So it is the characteristic of balance sheets that assets and liabilities amount to the same value. When the data for inputs and outputs are selected from both assets and liabilities sections of the balance sheet, it is important that more attention be paid to the analysis since values assigned to inputs and outputs could be included in assets and liabilities at the same time. Such a situation could create problems concerning the conclusions drawn as a result of analysis.     

Dynamic pricing and scheduling in a multi-class single-server queueing system

This paper investigates an optimal sequencing and dynamic pricing problem for a two-class queueing system. Using a Markov Decision Process based model, we obtain structural characterizations of optimal policies. In particular, it is shown that the optimal pricing policy depends on the entire queue length vector but some monotonicity results prevail as the composition of this vector changes. A numerical study finds that static pricing policies may have significant suboptimality but simple dynamic pricing policies perform well in most situations.     

Further Results for kth order Kantorovich Modification of Linking Baskakov Type Operators

In this paper we consider a non-trivial link between Baskakov type operators and their genuine Durrmeyer type modification as well as the kth order Kantorovich variant. Recursion formulas for the moments and the images of monomials are proved in order to derive asymptotic expansions. Furthermore we investigate convexity properties of the linking operators and the limiting behavior for certain function spaces.
