An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the degree of sensitivity of commerically pure copper to strain rate and to note the effect of this sensitivity on the velocity of propagation of shearing strain in copper. Thin-walled cylindrical specimens of copper were loaded in torsion to eliminate the effects of radial inertia. All specimens were annealed and then cold worked in torsion to obtain necessary specimen uniformity. Quasi-static tests were performed on short-length specimens to determine the shearing stress-strain curve of copper at a very low strain rate. The strain-rate sensitivity of copper at low strain rates, from 3×10?4/sec to 5/sec, was tested by loading short specimens at a very slow continuous rate and then suddenly increasing the strain rate. A quasi-static test was also performed to determine the effect of creep on prestressed copper. Dynamic tests involving strain rates up to 500/sec were performed on long specimens with a torsional impact machine. Specimens were tested under stress-free and prestressed initial conditions. The prestressed specimen was loaded at a slow, continuous rate before impact to avoid the undesirable effects of creep which would have occurred with a static preload. Results from the quasi-static tests showed that copper is noticeably sensitive to strain rate in the low strain-rate regions, but that the sensitivity becomes almost constant as the strain rate is increased. Results from the dynamic tests showed that large strains propagated at speeds which agreed well with speeds predicted by the strain-rate-independent theory of plastic-wave propagation. The lower-level strains in the prestressed specimen, however, propagated at much higher speeds than are predicted by the strain-rate independent. Because radial-inertia effects were not present, this discrepancy in measured and predicted speeds for low-level strains must be due to the strain-rate sensitivity of copper.  相似文献

We examine the effects of tightly focusing a radially polarized beam with uniform, Gaussian, or Bessel-Gauss pupil functions. The resulting FWHM is smallest for the case of a uniform amplitude profile, while the Bessel-Gauss beam results in the largest FWHM. The uniform amplitude profile also results in an axial field component that increases fastest with increasing NA. The ratio of the axial component to the transverse component is also the greatest for the uniform pupil function. On the other hand, the Bessel-Gauss beam benefits the most from the use of an annulus.  相似文献

Ultrathin silicon wafer technology is reviewed in terms of the semiconductor applications, critical challenges, and wafer pre-assembly and assembly process technologies and their underlying mechanisms. Mechanical backgrinding has been the standard process for wafer thinning in the semiconductor industry owing to its low cost and productivity. As the thickness requirement of wafers is reduced to below 100 μm, many challenges are being faced due to wafer/die bow, mechanical strength, wafer handling, total thickness variation (TTV), dicing, and packaging assembly. Various ultrathin wafer processing and assembly technologies have been developed to address these challenges. These include wafer carrier systems to handle ultrathin wafers; backgrinding subsurface damage and surface roughness reduction, and post-grinding treatment to increase wafer/die strength; improved wafer carrier flatness and backgrinding auto-TTV control to improve TTV; wafer dicing technologies to reduce die sidewall damage to increase die strength; and assembly methods for die pick-up, die transfer, die attachment, and wire bonding. Where applicable, current process issues and limitations, and future work needed are highlighted.  相似文献

Second harmonic generation microscopy was conducted on rat-tail tendons with linearly and radially polarized beams. Transverse and axial field components were generated in the focal region through tight focusing of linearly and radially polarized. It was found that the generated SHG signals could not be qualitatively explained with a scalar approximation to the electric field at the focus. Only by accounting for the interactions of the axial and transverse components of the electric field interacting through the nonlinear susceptibility χ(2) tensor could the SHG images be explained. For the case of collagen we find that the SHG signal varies as a function of the analyzer angle with a cos2 or sin2 dependency for linearly polarized beams. For tightly focused radially polarized beams we find that the output SHG is radially polarized after collimation and is independent of the analyzer angle.  相似文献

Seven different thicknesses (2-20 nm) of nitrided SiO2 on n-type 4H-SiC have been employed to investigate the charge conduction mechanism through these oxides. In previous papers a connection between general spreadsheet models and interactive multicriterion optimization has been discussed. The purpose of the present paper is to provide proof of the concept with a detailed example. The main idea is that interactive multicriterion optimization can be viewed as a new way of interacting with spreadsheet models. It offers advantages over the two prevailing ones, namely what-if and goal-seeking. A simplified budgeting example is given to clarify this connection. Directions of improvement are assumed to be provided by the decision maker using one of the several existing methods. One improvement iteration is illustrated and analyzed following the method of Loganathan and Sherali.  相似文献

The facile construction of C(sp3)-rich carbo- and heterocyclic compounds is a pivotal synthetic strategy to foster contemporary drug discovery programs. The downstream dearomatization of readily accessible two-dimensional (2D) planar arenes represents a direct pathway towards accessing three-dimensional (3D) aliphatic scaffolds. Here, we demonstrate that polysulfide anions are capable of catalyzing a dearomatization process of substituted naphthalenes, indoles, and other related heteroaromatic compounds in the presence of potassium formate and methanol under visible light irradiation. The developed protocol exhibits broad functional group tolerance, operational simplicity, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, representing a practical and sustainable synthetic tool for the arene dearomatization.  相似文献
