Porous silicon-based rugate filters operating in the mid-infrared spectral range are fabricated by electrochemical etching of bulk silicon wafers. The rugate filter has a high reflectivity stop-band at 5 μm with no higher-order harmonics and very small sidelobes. Furthermore, broadband high pass filter having the cutoff wavelength in a mid-infrared range is demonstrated by combining five rugate structures.  相似文献

We perform 3+1 general relativistic simulations of rotating core collapse in the context of the collapsar model for long gamma-ray bursts. We employ a realistic progenitor, rotation based on results of stellar evolution calculations, and a simplified equation of state. Our simulations track self-consistently collapse, bounce, the postbounce phase, black hole formation, and the subsequent early hyperaccretion phase. We extract gravitational waves from the spacetime curvature and identify a unique gravitational wave signature associated with the early phase of collapsar formation.  相似文献

We point out that the recent experiments at ETH on fermions in optical lattices, where a band insulator evolves continuously into states occupying many bands as the system is swept adiabatically across Feshbach resonance, have implications on a wide range of fundamental issues in condensed matter. We derive the effective Hamiltonian of these systems, obtain expressions for their energies and band populations, and point out the increasing quantum entanglement of the ground state during the adiabatic sweep. Our results also explain why only specific regions in k space can be populated after the sweep as found at ETH.  相似文献

We show that quantum diffusion has well-defined front shape. After an initial transient, the wave packet front (tails) is described by a stretched exponential P(x,t) = A(t)exp(-absolute value of [x/w](gamma)), with 1 < gamma < infinity, where w(t) is the spreading width which scales as w(t) approximately t(beta), with 0 < beta < or = 1. The two exponents satisfy the universal relation gamma = 1/(1-beta). We demonstrate these results through numerical work on one-dimensional quasiperiodic systems and the three-dimensional Anderson model of disorder. We provide an analytical derivation of these relations by using the memory function formalism of quantum dynamics. Furthermore, we present an application to experimental results for the quantum kicked rotor.  相似文献

W bosons can be produced in the channels at HERA thus allowing to probe for anomalous trilinear couplings among the gauge bosons. We discuss the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the photoproduction of W bosons with finite transverse momentum at HERA. The higher-order QCD corrections reduce the factorization scale dependence significantly and modify the leading-order (LO) cross sections by . In this paper we investigate the structure of S-cyclic Steiner quadruple systems and derive a necessary condition on thier existence which might turn out to be sufficient. In the third chapter we prove a necessary condition on the existence of general S-cyclic Steiner systems. It turns out that S-cyclicityis a very restrictive property that hardly any systems with t ≠ 3 can have.  相似文献

The disconnected components of certain trajectory nets containing all critical points of a differentiable functionf can be connected by suitably chosen contour sets of a certain associated functiong. A recursive construction yields a locally 1-dimensional connected set Ω which contains all critical points. The possible ways of tracing this set numerically are discussed. We study the preparation and manipulation of states involving a small number of interacting particles. By controlling the splitting and fusing of potential wells, we show how to interconvert Mott-insulator-like and trapped BEC-like states. We also discuss the generation of "Schr?dinger cat" states by splitting a microtrap and taking into practical consideration the asymmetry between the resulting wells. These schemes can be used to perform multiparticle interferometry with neutral atoms, where interference effects can be observed only when all the participating particles are measured.  相似文献
