One‐step assembly of hexahydroisoindole scaffolds by a sequence that combines the Petasis (borono‐Mannich) and Diels–Alder reactions is described. The unique selectivity observed experimentally was confirmed by quantum calculations. The current method is applicable to a broad range of substrates, including free sugars, and holds significant potential to efficiently and stereoselectively build new heterocyclic structures. This easy and fast entry to functionalized polycyclic compounds can be pursued by further transformations, for example, additional ring closure by a cross‐metathesis/Michael addition domino sequence.  相似文献

Saccharomyces cerevisiae, industrial yeast isolate, has been of great interest in recent years for fuel ethanol production. The ethanol yield and productivity depend on many inhibitory factors during the fermentation process such as temperature, ethanol, compounds released as the result of pretreatment procedures, and osmotic stress. An ideal strain should be able to grow under different stress conditions occurred at different fermentation steps. Development of tolerant yeast strains can be achieved by reprogramming pathways supporting the ethanol metabolism by regulating the energy balance and detoxicification processes. Complex gene interactions should be solved for an in-depth comprehension of the yeast stress tolerance mechanism. Genetic engineering as a powerful biotechnological tool is required to design new strategies for increasing the ethanol fermentation performance. Upregulation of stress tolerance genes by recombinant DNA technology can be a useful approach to overcome inhibitory situations. This review presents the application of several genetic engineering strategies to increase ethanol yield under different stress conditions including inhibitor tolerance, ethanol tolerance, thermotolerance, and osmotolerance.  相似文献

Stable emulsions of a core–shell acrylic copolymer (non-crosslinkable V0, and crosslinkable V2, V4, V6, and V8, where the numbers indicate the wt% of crosslinking agent based on the total acrylate monomer content) containing butyl acrylate (BA, 45 wt%), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA, 45 wt%), heptadecafluorodecyl methacrylate (PFA, 10 wt%), and various contents of crosslinking agent (vinyltriethoxysilane, VTES) were synthesized using a three-stage seeded emulsion polymerization process with a small amount of surfactant. The average particle size and viscosity of emulsions increased significantly with increasing VTES content. This study examined the effects of the VTES content on the surface/mechanical properties of self-crosslinked copolymer film samples containing a fixed acrylate monomer content to find the optimum VTES content. XPS showed that the film–air surface of the copolymer samples had a higher fluorine/silicone content than the film–dish interface. The tensile strength/modulus, thermal stability, and two Tgs (α and β Tgs) of the film samples increased significantly with increasing VTES content. The contact angle of the film samples increased with increasing VTES content up to approximately 6 wt%, and then decreased slightly. The optimum VTES content was approximately 6 wt% based on the total acrylate monomer content to obtain a high water/oil repellent coating material (V6) with the highest water/methylene iodide-contact angles (118.2°/81.8°) and lowest surface energy (18.4 mN/m).  相似文献

An efficient and simple method has been reported for the synthesis of 4-(1-Chloro-1-nitroethyl)-6,7-dimethoxy-2-methylquinazoline ( 2 ) as a key compound for further transformation to other novel 6,7-dimethoxy-2-methyl-4-substituted quinazolines. The structure of the synthesized compounds was characterized by spectroscopic methods. The pathway of some unprecedented reactions was proposed. (E)-1-(6,7-dimethoxy-2-methylquinazolin-4-yl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (11) exhibits high in vitro cytotoxicity on three cell lines, Hepatocellular carcinoma (Hep-G2), Human lung carcinoma (LU-1), and Human breast carcinoma (MCF-7) with IC50 of 2.1, 11.6 and 2.2 μM, respectively.  相似文献

The need for a rapid, sensitive and reliable analytical method for cyanobacterial toxins, microcystins, has been emphasized by the awareness of toxic cyanobacteria as a human-health risk through drinking water. A new high-performance liquid chromatographic method with column switching was developed for the determination of microcystin-LR, -RR and -YR from water samples without pre-purification. The filtered water sample was passed through a Zorbax CN precolumn at a flow-rate of 3 ml/min for on-line trace enrichment. After valve switching, concentrated analytes were eluted in back-flush mode and separated on a Luna C18 column with a gradient of acetonitrile -20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 2.5). The method showed excellent precision, accuracy and speed with detection limits of 0.02 microgram/ml from 100 ml of surface water. The total analysis time per sample was about 90 min. This method improves reliability, sensitivity and sample throughput, and shortens the analysis time compared to analysis methods using off-line solid-phase extraction.  相似文献

Real-time autodetachment dynamics of the loosely bound excess electron from the vibrational Feshbach resonances of the dipole-bound states (DBS) of 4-bromophonoxide (4-BrPhO) and 4-chlorophenoxide (4-ClPhO) anions have been thoroughly investigated. The state-specific autodetachment rate measurements obtained by the picosecond time-resolved pump-probe method on the cryogenically cooled anions exhibit an exceptionally long lifetime (τ) of ∼823 ± 156 ps for the 11′1 vibrational mode of the 4-BrPhO DBS. Strong mode-dependency in the wide dynamic range has also been found, giving τ ∼ 5.3 ps for the 10′1 mode, for instance. Though it is nontrivial to get the state-specific rates for the 4-ClPhO DBS, the average autodetachment lifetime of the 19′120′1/11′1 mode has been estimated to be ∼548 ± 108 ps. Observation of these exceptionally slow autodetachment rates of vibrational Feshbach resonances strongly indicates that the correlation effect may play a significant role in the DBS photodetachment dynamics. Fermi''s golden rule has been invoked so that the correlation effect is taken into account in the form of the interaction between the charge and the induced dipole where the latter is given by the polarizable counterparts of the electron-rich halogenated compound and the diffuse non-valence electron. This report suggests that one may measure, from the real-time autodetachment dynamics, the extent of the correlation effect contribution to the stabilization and/or dynamics of the excess non-valence electron among many different types of long-range interactions of the DBS.

Exceptionally slow autodetachment dynamics of the vibrational Feshbach resonances found in the dipole-bound state of 4-bromophonoxide (4-BrPhO) or 4-chlorophenoxide (4-ClPhO) anions reveals the associated dynamic role of the correlation effect.  相似文献
