Silver (II) oxide layers (AgO) were prepared by anodic oxidation of pre‐oxidized, Ag2O‐covered silver electrodes in 1 M NaOH (pH 13.8). The oxidized electrodes were investigated using a combination of electrochemical techniques, ex situ X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and in situ surface‐sensitive grazing incidence X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (EXAFS) under full potential control. The application of these different techniques leads to a detailed, consistent picture of the anodic silver (II) oxide layer formation. The experiments have shown that the chemical composition of the AgO layer varies significantly with oxidation potential, revealing a decreasing oxygen deficiency with increasing anodization potential and oxidation time. XPS as well as EXAFS experiments support the interpretation of the oxide as a mixed valence Ag + Ag3 + O2 with different contributions of Ag + and Ag3 + species, depending on potential and anodization time. Analogs of 4-amino-1,2,4,5-tetrahydro-2-benzazepin-3-ones, containing a methyl substituent at the 4- or 5-position, or a phenyl substituent at C-1, were prepared. Conformational analysis of tetrapeptide models containing these analogs indicated different conformations of the benzazepinone ring, and extended backbone conformations, except for the 4-methyl-substituted analog. The latter was shown to have a strong preference for a turn conformation. Incorporation into the N-terminal tetrapeptide sequence of dermorphin resulted in potent opioid analogs and an indication that the receptor-bound conformation might not adopt a turn structure. 相似文献

Temperature-sensitive poly(glycidol)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) block copolymers (PGl55PNIPAAmy) were synthesised and their aqueous solutions investigated by different methods including differential scanning calorimetry
(DSC), UV-VIS spectroscopy as well as dynamic and static light scattering. The cloud point temperature (T
c) depended on the composition of the investigated block copolymers and increased with decreasing length of the PNIPAAm block
in PGl55PNIPAAmy copolymers. In contrast, the enthalpy of phase separation of PNIPAAm segments measured by DSC decreased with decreasing length
of the PNIPAAm block in the polymer. These findings can be correlated with the behaviour of homo-PNIPAAm with similar molecular
weights indicating that the influence of PGl on the local environment and phase separation of PNIPAAm chains is similar to
the influence observed for PNIPAAm chains bearing different low molecular weight end group. Using DLS measurement, it was
shown that the aggregation process depended on the PGl/PNIPAAm block ratio. If the PGl/PNIPAAm ratio was low, stable core-shell
aggregates were formed. In contrast, the tendency to formation of large unstable, loose aggregates was observed for copolymers

In a new approach to the characterization and quantification of metallothionein isoforms an on-line isotope-dilution method in combination with the coupling of capillary electrophoresis (CE) to an inductively coupled plasma-sector field mass spectrometer (ICP-SFMS) is reported. Metallothionein (MT) isoforms are separated by CE and the elements Cu, Zn, Cd, and S are detected simultaneously by use of ICP-SFMS in the medium resolution mode. On-line isotope dilution is performed by continuous introduction of an isotopically enriched, species-unspecific spike solution after the separation step. MT from rabbit liver and a further purified MT-1 isoform were quantified by determination of sulfur, and the stoichiometric compositions of the metalloprotein complexes are characterized by determination of their sulfur-to-metal ratios. 相似文献

Despite various studies on the polymerization of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) through different precursor routes, detailed mechanistic knowledge on the individual reaction steps and intermediates is still incomplete. The present study aims to gain more insight into the radical polymerization of PPV through the Gilch route. The initial steps of the polymerization involve the formation of a p‐quinodimethane intermediate, which spontaneously self‐initiates through a dimerization process leading to the formation of diradical species; chain propagation ensues on both sides of the diradical or chain termination occurs by the formation of side products, such as [2.2]paracyclophanes. Furthermore, different p‐quinodimethane systems were assessed with respect to the size of their aromatic core as well as the presence of heteroatoms in/on the conjugated system. The nature of the aromatic core and the specific substituents alter the electronic structure of the p‐quinodimethane monomers, affecting the mechanism of polymerization. The diradical character of the monomers has been investigated with several advanced methodologies, such as spin‐projected UHF, CASSCF, CASPT2, and DMRG calculations. It was shown that larger aromatic cores led to a higher diradical character in the monomers, which in turn is proposed to cause rapid initiation. 相似文献

Metal complex formation of the two cyclic triamines 6-methyl-1,4-diazepan-6-amine (MeL(a)) and all-cis-2,4,6-trimethylcyclohexane-1,3,5-triamine (Me(3)tach) was studied. The structure of the free ligands (H(x)MeL(a))(x+) and H(x)Me(3)tach(x+) (0 ≤ x ≤ 3) was investigated by pH-dependent NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction experiments. The crystal structure of (H(2)Me(3)tach)(p-O(3)S-C(6)H(4)-CH(3))(2) showed a chair conformation with axial nitrogen atoms for the doubly protonated species. In contrast to a previous report, Me(3)tach was found to be a stronger base than the parent cis-cyclohexane-1,3,5-triamine (tach); pK(a)-values of H(3)Me(3)tach(3+) (25 °C, 0.1 M KCl): 5.2, 7.4, 11.2. The crystal structures of (H(3)MeL(a))(BiCl(6))·2H(2)O and (H(3)MeL(a))(ClO(4))Cl(2) exhibited two distinct twisted chair conformations of the seven membered diazepane ring. [Co(MeL(a))(2)](3+) (cis: 1(3+), trans: 2(3+)), trans-[Fe(MeL(a))(2)](3+) (3(3+)), [(MeL(a))ClCd(μ(2)-Cl)](2) (4), trans-[Cu(MeL(a))(2)](2+) (5(2+)), and [Cu(HMeL(a))Br(3)] (6) were characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis of 1(ClO(4))(3)·H(2)O, 2Br(3)·H(2)O, 3(ClO(4))(3)·0.8MeCN·0.2MeOH, 4, 5Br(2)·0.5MeOH, and 6·H(2)O. Formation constants and redox potentials of MeL(a) complexes were determined by potentiometric, spectrophotometric, and cyclovoltammetric measurements. The stability of [M(II)(MeL(a))](2+)-complexes is low. In comparison to the parent 1,4-diazepan-6-amine (L(a)), it is only slightly enhanced. In analogy to L(a), MeL(a) exhibited a pronounced tendency for forming protonated species such as [M(II)(HMeL(a))](3+) or [M(II)(MeL(a))(HMeL(a))](3+) (see 6 as an example). In contrast to MeL(a), Me(3)tach forms [M(II)L](2+) complexes (M = Cu, Zn) of very high stability, and the coordination behavior corresponds mainly to an "all-or-nothing" process. Molecular mechanics calculations showed that the low stability of L(a) and MeL(a) complexes is mainly due to a large amount of torsional strain within the pure chair conformation of the diazepane ring, required for tridentate coordination. This behavior is quite contrary to Me(3)tach and tacn (tacn =1,4,7-triazacyclononane), where the main portion of strain is already preformed in the free ligand, and the amount, generated upon complex formation, is comparably low. 相似文献

The mechanistic details of the pressure-induced B1-B2 phase transition of rubidium chloride are investigated in a series of transition path sampling molecular dynamics simulations. The B2→B1 transformation proceeds by nucleation and growth involving several, initially separated, nucleation centers. We show how independent and partially correlated nucleation events can function within a global mechanism and explore the evolution of phase domains during the transition. From this, the mechanisms of grain boundary formation are elaborated. The atomic structure of the domain-domain interfaces fully support the concept of Bernal polyhedra. Indeed, the manifold of different grain morphologies obtained from our simulations may be rationalized on the basis of essentially only two different kinds of Bernal polyhedra. The latter also play a crucial role for the B1→B2 transformation and specific grain boundary motifs are identified as preferred nucleation centers for this transition. 相似文献

Syntheses and Crystal Structures of the Phosphorane Iminato Complexes [MCl2(NPPh3)]2 with M = Al and Ga, [SbCl2(NPMe3)(DMF)]2, and of the Phosphorane Imine Complex [Ph3PNH · BF3] · THF The phosphorane iminato complexes [MCl2(NPPh3)]2 with M = Al and Ga and [SbCl2(NPMe3)(DMF)]2 are formed as colourless crystals by reactions of the anhydrous trichlorides MCl3 (M = Al, Ga, Sb) with the corresponding silylated phosphorane imines Me3SiNPR3 in acetonitrile and in dimethyl formamide, respectively. The phosphorane imine derivative [Ph3PNH · BF3] · THF is formed from Me3SiNPPh3 and boron trifluoride etherate in boiling tetrahydrofuran. The compounds are characterized by their i. r. spectra and by crystal structure analyses. [AlCl2(NPPh3)]2 : Space group P1 , Z = 1, structure solution with 1 585 observed unique reflections, R = 0.061. In both compounds the metal atoms are linked to planar M2N2 four-membered rings via the N-atoms of the phosphorane iminato groups. [SbCl2(NPMe3)(DMF)]2 : Space group P21/n, Z = 4, structure solution with 3 805 observed unique reflections, R = 0.038. Lattice dimensions at ?70°C: a = 1 913.0, b = 726.8, c = 2 040.7 pm, β = 113.62°. The unit cell contains two symmetry independent dimeric molecules, in which the antimony atoms are centrosymmetricly μ2 linked via the N-atoms of the phosphorane iminato groups. Along with the oxygen atom of the dimethyl formamide molecule the Sb atoms achieve a ψ-octahedral environment.
