We report on a new type of single-point velocimetry microsensor that can be positioned in microfluidic devices by use of optical tweezers. The flag-shaped microsensor is readily made by a low-cost two-photon polymerization technique. At rest the linearly polarized optical tweezer traps the microsensor at the focal point, and the flag-plate gets aligned in the polarization direction. Under a fluid flow, the plate rotates to an equilibrium angle that is used to measure the fluid velocity with a micrometer-size spatial resolution. Experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical calculations of optical and hydrodynamic torques on such a flag-shaped microsensor.  相似文献

Cell refractive index tomography by digital holographic microscopy   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
For what we believe to be the first time, digital holographic microscopy is applied to perform optical diffraction tomography of a pollen grain. Transmission phase images with nanometric axial accuracy are numerically reconstructed from holograms acquired for different orientations of the rotating sample; then the three-dimensional refractive index spatial distribution is computed by inverse radon transform. A precision of 0.01 for the refractive index estimation and a spatial resolution in the micrometer range are demonstrated.  相似文献

Non polar ZnO and (Zn, Co)O layers were successfully grown on (11̄02) sapphire (R-plane sapphire). The growth process was shown to directly influence the surface morphology as well as the strain state in (112̄0) ZnO (A-plane ZnO). The dominant defect lines seen in photoluminescence were due to basal stacking faults as demonstrated by means of selective photoluminescence and transmission electron microscopy. We present a novel method for growing high quality A-plane ZnO by inserting a (Zn, Co)O thin buffer layer, which strongly reduced the surface roughness. Finally (Zn, Mg)O/ZnO quantum well structures were grown on such a buffer layer. These quantum wells exhibited no intrinsic quantum confined Stark effect. We consider a billiard in the plane with periodic configuration of convex scatterers. This system is recurrent, in the sense that almost every orbit comes back arbitrarily close to the initial point. In this paper we study the time needed to get back in an ε-ball about the initial point, in the phase space and also for the position, in the limit when ε → 0. We establish the existence of an almost sure convergence rate, and prove a convergence in distribution for the rescaled return times.  相似文献

We consider the shape of crystals which are soft in the sense that their elastic modulus μ is small compared to their surface tension γ, more precisely μa < γ where a is the lattice spacing. We show that their surface steps penetrate inside the crystal as edge dislocations. As a consequence, these steps are broad with a small energy which we calculate. We also calculate the elastic interaction between steps a distance d apart, which is a 1/d 2 repulsion. We finally calculate the roughening temperatures of successive facets in order to compare with the remarkable shapes of lyotropic crystals recently observed by Pieranski et al.
