Configurational inversion and hexachloroethane chlorination of α-sulfonylcarbanions

The cis fused bicyclic sulfones 1a, 1c and 3a are lithiated in benzene with n-butyllithium under concomitant cis/trans isomerization of the ring fusion, involving intramolecular proton transfer. H/D exchange of the three α-hydrogens in protic solvents proceeds with retention of configuration. The lithiated sulfones are chlorinated with hexachloroethane (HCE) and show a strong preference for introduction of halogen at an equatorial α-position.     

Reactivity of peroxo forms of the vanadium haloperoxidase cofactor. A DFT investigation

Density functional theory has been used to investigate structural, electronic and reactivity properties of complexes related to the peroxo forms of vanadium haloperoxidases (VHPO). In particular, the reactivity of the cofactor as a function of protonation state and environment, which are two factors thought to be crucial in modulating the activity of the enzyme, has been examined. In full agreement with experimental data, results highlight the role of protonation in the activation of the peroxo-vanadium complexes and show that the oxo-transfer step involves the unprotonated axial peroxo oxygen atom, which is easily accessible to substrates in the peroxo form of the enzyme. The role of Lys353, which in the X-ray structure of the peroxide-bound form of vanadium chloroperoxidase is hydrogen bonded to the equatorial oxygen atom of the peroxo group, has been also explored. It is concluded that Lys353 can play a role similar to a H+ in the activation of the peroxo form of the cofactor.     

链状[NH3CH2CH2NH3]AgAsS4的溶剂热合成及表征

利用溶剂热方法合成了链状[NH3CH2CH2NH3]AgAsS4,通过单晶X射线衍射技术对其进行了晶体结构分析,该化合物晶体属单斜晶系,空间群C2/c,晶胞参数a=1.35805(8)nm,b=0.65331(3)nm,c=2.27711(9)nm,β=106.42(3)°,Z=8.化合物具有有趣的梯子状双链结构,该阴离子链由AsS4与AgS3共用顶点交替连接而成,有机阳离子在阴离子链之间存在较强的N—H…S氢键.DSC和Tg分析结果表明化合物在200℃以下是稳定的.     

Concise and Efficient Synthesis of Dehydropeptide Analogues from Unsaturated 5（4H）—Oxazolone

Some dehydropeptide analogues were directly synthesized by the reaction of unsaturated oxazolones with free amino acids.     

Synthesis, X-ray diffraction analysis and NMR studies of (Z)-2-methyl-3-triphenylstannyl-3-pentene-2-ol

The synthesis of (Z)-2-methyl-3-triphenylstannyl-3-pentene-2-ol and its characterization by an X-ray diffraction study and multinuclear NMR are reported. The tin atom exhibits a distorted tetrahedral SnC₄ geometry with the four Sn---C bond distances experimentally equivalent. The slight distortion from the ideal tetrahedral geometry is because of the presence of a weak intramolecular HO → Sn interaction of 3.012(3) Å which produces a loose four-membered ring. The title compound was characterized in solution by ¹H, ¹³C and ¹¹⁹Sn NMR, and the persistence of the weak intramolecular HO → Sn coordination in solution was revealed by ¹³C and ¹¹⁹Sn secondary isotope multiplet of partially labelled entities (SIMPLE-NMR) experiments.     

A method for experimental determination of effective resonance energies related to (n, γ) reactions

When making use of some single comparator or absolute standardization methods in reactor neutron and in epicadmium neutron activation analysis, the knowledge of the effective resonance energy ( ) is essential to correct for the effect of the nonideal epithermal flux distribution on the analysis result. can be calculated from neutron resonance data, but when these are incomplete, not accurate or even not known at all, experimental determination should be considered. Such a method, providing both and the resonance integral to 2200 ms^–1 cross-section ratio (Q_O), is described in this paper. Results are given for 11 isotopes.     

A New Kind of Void Soap-free P（MMA-EA-MAA） Latex Particles

Soap-flee P(MMA-EA-MAA) particles with narrow size distribution were synthesized by seeded emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl acrylate (EA) and methacrylic acid (MAA), and large voids inside the particles were generated by alkali posttreatment in the presence of 2-butanone. Results indicated that the size of void and theparticle volume were related with the amount of 2-butanone. The generation mechanism of voids was proposed.     

A theoretical study of solvation energies of FCH2COO−, FCH2COOH,and F2CHCOO−

A continuum and a discrete-continuum models are used to determine the solvation energies of FCH₂COO^?, FCH₂COOH, and F₂CHCOO^?. For the anions, the continuum model provides results closer to the experiment, while for the acid, the addition of one water molecule improves the continuum-only energy.
