We report a predefined self-organization of gold nanorods (NRs) end-terminated with multiple polymer arms ("pom-poms") in higher-order structures. The assembly of polymer-tethered NRs was controlled by changing the structure of the polymer pom-poms. We show that the variation in the molecular weight of the polymer molecules and their relative location with respect to the long side of the NRs resulted in two competing association modes of the nanorods, that is, their side-by-side and end-to-end assembly, and produced bundles, chains, rings, and bundled chains of the NRs. The superposition of the two variables controlling the organization of NRs allowed us to create a map showing the variation in the longitudinal plasmonic bands of the NRs achieved by their self-assembly.  相似文献

The reaction of [Ru3(CO)12] with Ph2(pyth)PSe (pyth=5-(2-pyridyl)-2-thienyl) allows to obtain two novel clusters [Ru3(3-Se)2(CO)7{P(pyth)Ph2}2] 1 and [Ru3(3-Se)(-PPh2)(-pyth)(CO)6{P(pyth)Ph2}] 2 in satisfactory yields. The first one exhibits the well-known bicapped, open triangular, 50-electron nido-core, whereas 2, whose crystal structure has been determined, shows the rather rare Ru3Se tetrahedron with the Ph2P and pyth fragments as side-bridging ligands. Morever cluster 2 belongs to the exiguous family of selenido-phosphido clusters not easily achievable by other routes.  相似文献

The optical design of the BOREAS beamline operating at the ALBA synchrotron radiation facility is described. BOREAS is dedicated to resonant X‐ray absorption and scattering experiments using soft X‐rays, in an unusually extended photon energy range from 80 to above 4000 eV, and with full polarization control. Its optical scheme includes a fixed‐included‐angle, variable‐line‐spacing grating monochromator and a pair of refocusing mirrors, equipped with benders, in a Kirkpatrick–Baez arrangement. It is equipped with two end‐stations, one for X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism and the other for resonant magnetic scattering. The commissioning results show that the expected beamline performance is achieved both in terms of energy resolution and of photon flux at the sample position.  相似文献

This paper presents the alpha/beta complete deconvolution tool (ABCD-Tool), a C++ application for the analysis of spectra from liquid scintillation counting (LSC) measurements. In addition to the basic algorithms for standard gross alpha/beta analysis and the determination of the counting efficiency, the software implements a recent unfolding technique based on Fourier transforms, which gives precise and reliable results even in the case of complex, strongly overlapping spectra. The application is designed to be used with alpha/beta spectra generated from Perkin Elmer Wallac Quantulus 1220. However, future upgrades are scheduled in order to extend the compatibility to spectra from other LSC instruments in commerce.  相似文献

We compare the photochemical stability of the nonlinear optical chromophore configurationally locked polyene 2-{3-[2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)vinyl]-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enylidene} malononitrile (DAT2) embedded in a polymeric matrix and in a single-crystalline configuration. The results show that, under resonant light excitations, the polymeric compound degrades through an indirect process, while the DAT2 crystal follows a slow direct process. We show that chromophores in a crystalline environment exhibit three orders of magnitude better photostability as compared to guest-host polymer composites.  相似文献

Allylic pinacol boronic esters are stable toward 1,3‐borotropic rearrangement. We developed a PdII‐mediated isomerization process that gives di‐ or trisubstituted allylic boronic esters with high E selectivity. The combination of this method with lithiation–borylation enables the synthesis of carbon chains that bear 1,5‐stereogenic centers. The utility of this method has been demonstrated in a formal synthesis of (+)‐jasplakinolide.  相似文献

Organic fluorophores have found broad application as emitters in luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) for silicon photovoltaics. In particular, the preparation of organic conjugated systems with intense light-harvesting ability, emissions in the deep-red and NIR regions, and large Stokes shift values represent a very challenging undertaking. Here, we report a simple and easy way to prepare three symmetrical donor–acceptor–donor (DAD) organic-emitting materials based on a thienopyrazine core. The central core in the three dyes was modified with the introduction of aromatic substituents, aiming to affect their optical properties. The fluorophores were characterized by spectroscopic studies. In all cases, visible-NIR emissions with large Stokes shifts were found, highlighting these molecules as promising materials for the application in LSCs.  相似文献

Considering the growing number of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) producers in the world, knowing the influence of olive oils with different geographical origins on the characteristics of the final blend becomes an interesting goal. The present work is focused on commercial organic EVOO blends obtained by mixing multiple oils from different geographical origins. These blends have been studied by 1H-NMR spectroscopy supported by multivariate statistical analysis. Specific characteristics of commercial organic EVOO blends originated by mixing oils from Italy, Tunisia, Portugal, Spain, and Greece were found to be associated with the increasing content of the Italian component. A linear progression of the metabolic profile defined characteristics for the analysed samples—up to a plateau level—was found in relation to the content of the main constituent of the Italian oil, the monocultivar Coratina. The Italian constituent percentage appears to be correlated with the fatty acids (oleic) and the polyphenols (tyrosol, hydroxytyrosol, and derivatives) content as major and minor components respectively. These results, which highlight important economic aspects, also show the utility of 1H-NMR associated with chemometric analysis as a powerful tool in this field. Mixing oils of different national origins, to obtain blends with specific characteristics, could be profitably controlled by this methodology.  相似文献

Carotenoids are employed in light-harvesting complexes of dinoflagellates with the two-fold aim to extend the spectral range of the antenna and to protect it from radiation damage. We have studied the effect of the environment on the vibrational properties of the carotenoid peridinin in different solvents by means of vibrational spectroscopies and QM/MM molecular dynamics simulations. Three prototypical solvents were considered: cyclohexane (an apolar/aprotic solvent), deuterated acetonitrile (a polar/aprotic solvent) and methanol (a polar/protic solvent). Thanks to effective normal mode analysis, we were able to assign the experimental Raman and IR bands and to clarify the effect of the solvent on band shifts. In the 1500-1650 cm(-1) region, seven vibrational modes of the polyene chain were identified and assigned to specific molecular vibrations. In the 1700-1800 cm(-1) region a strong progressive down-shift of the lactonic carbonyl frequency is observed passing from cyclohexane to methanol solutions. This has been rationalized here in terms of solvent polarity and solute-solvent hydrogen bond interactions. On the basis of our data we propose a classification of non-equivalent peridinins in the Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Proteins, light-harvesting complexes of dinoflagellates.  相似文献
