The enantiomeric composition of several chiral markers in lavender essential oil was studied by flow modulated comprehensive two‐dimensional gas chromatography operated in the reverse flow mode and hyphenated to flame ionization and quadrupole mass spectrometric detection. Two capillary column series were used in this study, 2,3‐di‐O‐ethyl‐6‐Otert‐butyldimethylsilyl‐β‐cyclodextrin or 2,3,6‐tri‐O‐methyl‐β‐cyclodextrin, as the chiral column in the first dimension and α polyethylene glycol column in the second dimension. Combining the chromatographic data obtained on these column series, the enantiomeric and excess ratios for α‐pinene, β‐pinene, camphor, lavandulol, borneol, and terpinen‐4‐ol were determined. This maybe a possible route to assess the authenticity of lavender essential oil.  相似文献

Three‐dimensional hydrogel supports for mesenchymal and neural stem cells (NSCs) are promising materials for tissue engineering applications such as spinal cord repair. This study involves the preparation and characterization of superporous scaffolds based on a copolymer of 2‐hydroxyethyl and 2‐aminoethyl methacrylate (HEMA and AEMA) crosslinked with ethylene dimethacrylate. Ammonium oxalate is chosen as a suitable porogen because it consists of needle‐like crystals, allowing their parallel arrangement in the polymerization mold. The amino group of AEMA is used to immobilize RGDS and SIKVAVS peptide sequences with an N‐γ‐maleimidobutyryloxy succinimide ester linker. The amount of the peptide on the scaffold is determined using 125I radiolabeled SIKVAVS. Both RGDS‐ and SIKVAVS‐modified poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) scaffolds serve as supports for culturing human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and human fetal NSCs. The RGDS sequence is found to be better for MSC and NSC proliferation and growth than SIKVAVS.

The new heterometallic complex {μ-1,3,5-[CH(pz)2]3C6H3}[Re(CO)3Br][Pt(p-tolyl)2]2 has been prepared by reaction of 1 equiv. of the dimer [Pt(p-tolyl)2(μ-SEt2)]2 with the monometallic rhenium precursor {1,3,5-[CH(pz)2]3C6H3}Re(CO)3Br, where 1,3,5-[CH(pz)2]3C6H3 is the tritopic, arene-linked bis(pyrazolyl)methane ligand 1,3,5-tris[bis(1-pyrazolyl)methyl]benzene. Similarly, the heterometallic complex {μ-1,3,5-[CH(pz)2]3C6H3}[Re(CO)3Br]2[Pt(p-tolyl)2] has been made by the reaction of the dirhenium compound {μ-1,3,5-[CH(pz)2]3C6H3}[Re(CO)3Br]2 and one-half of an equivalent of [Pt(p-tolyl)2(μ-SEt2)]2. X-ray crystallographic studies of the new compounds reveal significant noncovalent interactions in their molecular and supramolecular structures.  相似文献

It has been found that by the addition of low concentrations of an amphiphilic block copolymer to an epoxy resin, novel disordered morphologies can be formed and preserved through curing. This article will focus on characterizing the influence of the block copolymer and casting solvent on the templated morphology achieved in the thermoset sample. The ultimate goal of this work is to determine the parameters that would control the microphase morphology produced. Epoxy resins blended with a series of amphiphilic block copolymers based on hydrogenated polyisoprene (polyethylene-alt-propylene or PEP) and polyethylene oxide (PEO), specifically, were investigated. In this article, the cure-induced order–order phase transition from the spherical to wormlike micelle morphology will also be discussed. It is proposed that the formation of the wormlike micelle structure from the spherical micelle structure is similar to the phase transition behavior that occurs in dilute block copolymer solutions as a function of the influence of the solvent on micelle morphology. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 4‐Vinylbenzoyl azide was synthesized from p‐vinylbenzoic acid and polymerized by free radical polymerization. The obtained polymer contained acyl azide groups which were thermally transformed to the corresponding isocyanato groups. Reactions on these polymers with ethanol, hydroxyethyl methacrylate and 1‐pyrenebutanol proceeded quantitatively. Time‐resolved FT‐IR studies of the reactions with ethanol were carried out by varying the concentration and temperature. The effect of the solvent polarity on the Curtius rearrangement was investigated.

Utilization of lipases for synthesis of esters of hydrophilic polyols has been investigated. The choice of a suitable solvent is crucial in this type of reaction. An interesting case is fatty acid esters from neopentylpolyols, such as trimethylolpropane, which are of great interest as high temperature lubricants. Enzymatic synthesis of trimethylolpropane tricaprylate was studied as an alternative to chemical manufacturing. Triester production occurred only if the water produced by esterification was continuously removed from the medium. In these condition, kinetics of appearance and transformation of mono-, di- and triesters were determined in order to define optimal conditions.  相似文献
