We demonstrate a facile wet chemical approach for fabricating spherical metal/metal-oxide core@mesoporous silica shell hybrid nanoparticles with different core and shell thicknesses. Vertically aligned mesoporous silica (mSiO(2) ) shells were fabricated over the pre-synthesized spherical SiO(2) nanoparticles through a three-step strategy: 1)?synthesis of core materials, 2)?covering the core with an organic-inorganic composite layer, and 3)?removing the organic template through calcinations in air. The mechanisms of hybrid structure formation are proposed. The multifunctional nature of the hybrid structures could be induced by incorporating guest ions/molecules, such as Ag, Mn, and TiO(2) , into the pores of an mSiO(2) shell. Mn and TiO(2) cluster- incorporated composite structures have been tested to be antioxidizing agents and effective photocatalysts through electron spin resonance, radical scavenging tests, and the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B. The possibility of incorporating several hetero-element guest clusters in these mesoporous composite particles makes them highly attractive for multifunctional applications.  相似文献

Two new quaternary mixed-metal selenites, SrMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2) and PbMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2), have been synthesized as crystals and pure polycrystalline phases by standard solid-state reactions using SrMoO(4), PbO, MoO(3), and SeO(2) as reagents. The crystal structures of the reported materials have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. SrMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2) and PbMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2) are isostructural and crystallized in the triclinic centrosymmetric space group P1? (No. 2). The reported materials exhibit chain structures consisting of MoO(6) octahedra and asymmetric SeO(3) polyhedra. Complete characterizations including IR spectroscopy and thermal analyses for the compounds are also presented, as are dipole moment calculations. In addition, the powder second-harmonic-generating (SHG) properties of noncentrosymmetric polar BaMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2) have been measured using 1064 nm radiation. Through powder SHG measurement, we are able to determine that BaMo(2)O(5)(SeO(3))(2) has a SHG efficiency of approximately 80 times that of α-SiO(2). Additional SHG measurements reveal that the material is phase-matchable (type 1). A detailed cation size effect on the symmetry and framework structure is discussed.  相似文献

A variety of benzylidenethiazole analogs have been demonstrated to inhibit 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX). Here we report the anti-atherogenic potential of 5-(4-hydroxy- 2,3,5-trimethylbenzylidene) thiazolidin-2,4-dione (HMB-TZD), a benzylidenethiazole analog, and its potential mechanism of action in LDL receptor-deficient (Ldlr-/-) mice. HMB-TZD Treatment reduced leukotriene B4 (LTB4) production significantly in RAW264.7 macrophages and SVEC4-10 endothelial cells. Macrophages or endothelial cells pre-incubated with HMB-TZD for 2 h and then stimulated with lipopolysaccharide or tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) displayed reduced cytokine production. Also, HMB-TZD reduced cell migration and adhesion in accordance with decreased proinflammatory molecule production in vitro and ex vivo. HMB-TZD treatment of 8-week-old male Ldlr-/- mice resulted in significantly reduced atherosclerotic lesions without a change to plasma lipid profiles. Moreover, aortic expression of pro-atherogenic molecules involved in the recruitment of monocytes to the aortic wall, including TNF-α , MCP-1, and VCAM-1, was downregulated. HMB-TZD also reduced macrophage infiltration into atherosclerotic lesions. In conclusion, HMB-TZD ameliorates atherosclerotic lesion formation possibly by reducing the expression of proinflammatory molecules and monocyte/macrophage recruitment to the lesion. These results suggest that HMB-TZD, and benzylidenethiazole analogs in general, may have therapeutic potential as treatments for atherosclerosis.  相似文献

Recently, many polarizable force fields have been devised to describe induction effects between molecules. In popular polarizable models based on induced dipole moments, atomic polarizabilities are the essential parameters and should be derived carefully. Here, we present a parameterization scheme for atomic polarizabilities using a minimization target function containing both molecular and atomic information. The main idea is to adopt reference data only from quantum chemical calculations, to perform atomic polarizability parameterizations even when relevant experimental data are scarce as in the case of electronically excited molecules. Specifically, our scheme assigns the atomic polarizabilities of any given molecule in such a way that its molecular polarizability tensor is well reproduced. We show that our scheme successfully works for various molecules in mimicking dipole responses not only in ground states but also in valence excited states. The electrostatic potential around a molecule with an externally perturbing nearby charge also exhibits a near‐quantitative agreement with the reference data from quantum chemical calculations. The limitation of the model with isotropic atoms is also discussed to examine the scope of its applicability. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Large-scale orthorhombic single-crystalline molybdenum trioxide nanowires were synthesized using a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. Lactate oxidase enzyme was immobilized on the nanowires to produce a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor for l-lactate detection. At an applied potential of 0.5 V, the sensor exhibited a high sensitivity of 0.87 μA/mM with a fast response to l-lactate (90% of response times within 10 s). A linear response was obtained over a concentration range from 0.5 to 8 mM with a detection limit of 0.15 mM (S/N?=?3). The developed biosensor showed excellent reproducibility and operational stability, as well as the ability to be stored long term.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to characterize the neurochemical profiles of various parts of the canine brain using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, tissue extraction, and external simulated phantom concentration quantification. The occipital, frontal, and temporal lobes, thalami, cerebellar cortices, and spinal cords of five pure bred adult beagles were collected, and heavy water solutions for the nuclear magnetic resonance sample were prepared using the methanol–chloroform–water extraction method. The metabolite concentrations in canine brain tissues were measured and compared with those found in human and rat brain tissues. In addition, the cross peaks of Lac, Glu/Gln, and mIns were identified using two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy in the canine frontal cortex. The present study demonstrated the absolute quantification of canine neuronal parts using in vitro high-resolution magnetic resonance spectroscopy, with tissue extraction used to accurately measure metabolite concentrations, thus providing valuable metabolic information regarding the various canine neuronal regions.  相似文献

Reducing the strain in brittle device layers is critical in the fabrication of robust flexible electronic devices. In this study, the cracking behavior of micro-patterned 500-nm-thick Ti films was investigated via uniaxial tensile testing by in situ SEM and 4-point probe measurements. Both visual observations by SEM and 4-pt resistance measurements showed that strategically patterned oval holes, off-set and rotated by 45°, had a significant effect on limiting the extent of cracking, specifically, in preventing cracks from converging. Failure with regard to electrical conduction was delayed from less than 2% to more than 10% strain.  相似文献

Li (lithium) isotope analysis using MC-ICP-MS is a very powerful tracer measurement method. This is widely used for identification of Li isotopes in many fields of study. This useful method, however, has an effect on the natural Li isotope background. This is impacted by the instrument matrix. In this study, we show that the MC-ICP-MS condition is characterized by both a low baseline background and a high-sensitivity distance at Ar plasma condition. In addition, the Li isotope ratio was measured by the use of experimental conditions that were superior to both the general plasma condition and those used in other studies. The samples were subjected to both acid leaching and a cation exchange resin (Bio-Rad AG 50 W-X8 200–400 mesh) modified for seawater samples. The isotope variations were corrected using the bracket method, the measured Li isotope ratio of sample, and the mean ratios of the L-SVEC standard (NIST L-SVEC Li2CO3) measured before and after the sample run. The isotope variation was presented as the deviation (per mil) of the measured ratio from that of the recommended value.  相似文献
