The kinetics and reactivity ratios of styrene‐acrylonitrile (SA) copolymerization have been studied extensively in bulk and in a variety of solution media using conventional free radical polymerizations (FRPs). Due to the significant difference in the two reactivity ratios for this monomer pair, at certain feed ratios the copolymers display composition drift with conversion due to monomer depletion. In this study, the kinetics of SA copolymerization using Reversible Addition‐Fragmentation Chain Transfer (RAFT) has been studied in bulk at 80 °C. The reactivity ratios for the terminal model were calculated from the comonomer sequence distributions for the RAFT process at low conversion for nine different compositions and found to be in the same range as those reported for conventional FRP of SA. The changes in the composition and sequence distribution with conversion were studied for three feed compositions. The copolymers show compositional drift with conversion, except at the azeotropic composition, and match the predictions from the reactivity ratios obtained at low conversion. From quantitative 13C NMR the triad distributions of these copolymers were estimated and found to match the predicted triad distributions as conversion increased. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. When methyl 2,4,6-tri-0-benzoyl-3-0-benzyl-β-D-galacto-pyranoside (JO is treated in purified chloroform at 55-60′ with excess of dichloromethyl methyl ether in the presence of a catalytic amount of freshly fused zinc chloride for 1 h the corresponding α-glycosyl chloride 2 can be isolated by column chromatography in 75-80% yield. Compound 2 is an important intermediate in the synthesis of oligosaccharides containing a glycosyl-3-0-galactosyl sequence. Under the described reaction conditions the conversion 1 - 2 is accompanied by a slow anomerisation of 1 to give methyl 2,4,6-tri-0-benzoyl-3-0-benzyl-α-D-galactopyranoside. Prolonged treatment of 2 with the used excess of the reagent results in complete debenzylation of the substrate and the conversion of the putative 2,4,6-tri-O-benzoyl-α-D-galactopyranosyl chloride into the corresponding 3-0-formyl and 3-0-dichloromethyl derivatives.  相似文献

The dynamics of the spin-triplet trion state, under high magnetic field in a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well, are studied using time resolved spectroscopy. The oscillator strength of the triplet transition is shown to rise with increasing electron density, in good agreement with a theoretical model where the trion interacts with excess electrons in the quantum well. This analysis suggests that the spin-triplet trion state, which is expected to be an optically "dark" state, is experimentally observable due to the interactions with the excess electrons, demonstrating that X- cannot be regarded as an isolated three particle complex.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of spin coherence in InGaAs quantum dots is obtained from quantum beats observed in polarization-resolved pump-probe experiments. Within the same sample we clearly distinguish between coherent spin dynamics leading to quantum beats and incoherent long-lived spin-memory effects. Analysis of the coherent data using a theoretical model reveals approximately 10 times greater stability of the spin coherence at high temperature compared to that found previously for exciton states in four-wave-mixing experiments by Borri et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 87, 157401 (2001)]]. The data on incoherent polarization reveal a new form of spin memory based on charged quantum dots.  相似文献

The utility of a Design of Experiments (DoE) approach for the rapid and efficient optimisation of a microwave assisted Ugi 3cc reaction of levulinic acid is demonstrated. DoE methods have also been applied to the assessment of the reaction scope for a range of amine and isonitrile substrates. The optimal procedure developed using this approach has enabled the preparation of lactam derivatives in moderate to excellent yields (17-90%) in a reaction time of only 30 min compared to the conventional methodology which required up to 48 h.  相似文献

Ultrasonic absorption in polymer gel dosimeters was investigated. An ultrasonic interferometer was used to study the frequency (f) dependence of the absorption coefficient (alpha) in a polyacrylamide gel dosimeter (PAG) in the frequency range 5-20 MHz. The frequency dependence of ultrasonic absorption deviated from that of an ideal viscous fluid. The presence of relaxation mechanisms was evidenced by the frequency dependence of alpha/f(2) and the dispersion in ultrasonic velocity. It was concluded that absorption in polymer gel dosimeters is due to a number of relaxation processes which may include polymer-solvent interactions as well as relaxation due to motion of polymer side groups.The dependence of ultrasonic absorption on absorbed dose and formulation was also investigated in polymer gel dosimeters as a function of pH and chemical composition. Changes in dosimeter pH and chemical composition resulted in a variation in ultrasonic dose response curves. The observed dependence on pH was considered to be due to pH induced modifications in the radiation yield while changes in chemical composition resulted in differences in polymerisation kinetics.  相似文献

Optical trirefringence in photonic crystal waveguides   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
We demonstrate that 2D photonic crystals can possess optical trirefringence in which there are six field orientations for which linear incident light is not perturbed on reflection or transmission. Such a property is rigorously forbidden in homogeneous nonmagnetic dielectrics which can possess only optical birefringence. We experimentally demonstrate this phenomena in silicon-based mesostructures formed from photonic crystal waveguides embedded in a Fabry-Perot cavity. Multirefringence is controlled by the presence of submicron dielectric patterning and is well explained by an exact scattering matrix theory.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate resonant coupling between photons and excitons in microcavities which can efficiently generate enormous single-pass optical gains approaching 100. This new parametric phenomenon appears as a sharp angular resonance of the incoming pump beam, at which the moving excitonic polaritons undergo very large changes in momentum. Ultrafast stimulated scattering is clearly identified from the exponential dependence on pump intensity. This device utilizes boson amplification induced by stimulated energy relaxation.  相似文献

The radiative decayJ/ψ → γ π+ π? has been studied using the 8.6 millionJ/ψ produced in the DM2 experiment at the DCIe +e? storage rings at Orsay. The π+ π? mass spectrum shows a cleanf 2 (1270) signal, and the possible presence of two other states at thef 2 (1720) andf 4 (2030) masses. For thef 2 (1270), the branching ratio BR(J/ψ →γf)xBR(f→π+ π?) is measured to be (7.50±0.30±1.12)×10?4, and the spin analysis prefers theJ=2 assignment, with helicity parametersx=0.83±0.06 andy=0.01±0.06.
