We study a generalisation of the Hatano-Nelson Hamiltonian in which a periodic modulation of the site energies is present in addition to the usual random distribution. The system can then become localized by disorder or develop a band gap, and the eigenspectrum shows a wide variety of topologies. We determine the phase diagram, and perform a finite size scaling analysis of the localization transition.  相似文献

Abstract

A method is presented which allows quantitative assignment of hydrophobic human serum components to the extraction of bis-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) from medical tubing. Under optimized conditions (sample pH 5.5; fluid-fluid extraction with ethyl acetate + tert-butyl methyl ether 1 + 1 v/v; DEHP-ring-D4 as internal standard with ratios of endogenous (m/z = 149) and added deuterated DEHP (m/z = 153) adjusted to around 1.0; equilibration of added internal standard with the hydrophobic sample for 24 hours), a high precision can be achieved with an intra-assay coefficient of variation of 1.5% (n = 7) for sample DEHP quantification. Phthalate migration from hemodialysis tubing was quantified by use of a peristaltic pump and recirculation (200 minutes) of serum with different degrces of hypertriglyceridemia (range from 2.26 to 14.5 g/L) or solutions of human albumin (10 to 50 g/L). Only DEHP, but no other phthalates are detected in the extracts. There exist linear relations between DEHP extraction and triglyceride content (increase by 1.01 μg DEHP/g tubing material per g triglyceride/L serum) as well as between DEHP extraction and albumin content (0.59 μg DEHP/g tubing material per g albumin/L). Under physiological conditions, the total amount of albumin extracts 17.7-fold more DEHP than the total triglyceride amount in human serum. The suitability of the proposed method as a candidate reference method as well as consequences for dyslipidemic and hypalbuminemic patients on hemodialysis schemes are discussed.  相似文献

According to a fundamental theorem by Hilbert the partition function and other physically relevant properties of the general sixteen vertex model must be expressible algebraically in terms of a small number of basic invariants with respect to the symmetry group of the model. The construction of such an irreducible set of algebraic invariants has been described in two earlier papers by Graff and Hijmans1,2). In the present paper it is shown that this basic set can be obtained in a simpler and more elegant way by means of a diagrammatic technique, based on scalar and vectorial multiplication of three kinds of construction elements and the use of six reduction rules for diagrams.  相似文献

The stopping power and the stopping number, respectively, of charged particles are determined in the frame of the dielectric formalism in random phase approximation. The high and low velocity limits are disscussed. Numerical evalution is given for arbitrary masses of the projectile particle using a dielectric function ?(κ, ω) valid for all values of degeneracy. This work presents the development of an inexpensive measurement technique based on miniature microphones for the measurement of pressure fluctuations in a wide frequency range, starting from infrasound up to several kilohertz. Special emphasis has been put on achieving accurate calibration of the system at very low frequencies and good agreement with reference measurements have been achieved at frequencies as low as 1 Hz, therefore opening new low-budget research possibilities in many fields of fluid mechanics. The measurement technique proposed is specially indicated when the number of simultaneous pressure measurements is high since the sensors used are inexpensive, contrarily to common research equipment. One particular area in which this technique results useful is bluff-body aerodynamics. As an example of the potential of the technique, the structural response of a finite-square cylinder immersed in a turbulent flow is studied.  相似文献

From an analytical model for the population of high-lying excited levels in ionizing plasmas it appears that the distribution is a superposition of the equilibrium (Saha) value and an overpopulation. Liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) techniques were used to identify two minor components and one new compound in the polyphenolic extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis). Identification and structure assignments were based on previously reported sub-structural features in the MS/MS product, precursor and neutral loss scans of reference samples. The structures of two minor components, related to the known green tea components epicatechin gallate (ECG, 5) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG, 6), are formed by methylation at the 3"-O-position of the gallic acid moiety. The new compound contained a gallic acid ester group, but had only one phenolic group in either the A- or B-ring, relative to the structure of 5. High-resolution mass measurements supported the empirical formula assigned to the new compounds. An important fragmentation for defining the position of methylation of the ester function involves ionization of the phenolic group at the 4"-position of the gallic acid, followed by elimination of the ester function as a neutral with concomitant formation of the m/z 169 ion. If the 4"-position is blocked by methylation, the formation of m/z 169 incorporating the gallic acid group would be blocked. Thus, the presence of an ion representing the ester group indicates a free 4"-phenol and the absence of this ion would signify the 4"-position as a site of methylation. The operation of this mechanism should be general and useful in assigning the site of methylation of any polyphenolic ester group in natural products. A similar conclusion can be drawn concerning alkylation or esterification of the 4'-position of the catechins, i. e. blocking the 4'-phenol would prevent formation of the m/z 125 ion common to all of the catechin compounds thus far examined. Therefore, mass spectral data are of considerable importance in deducing the sites of alkylation or esterification in the structures of the components of green tea.  相似文献
