Hetero Diels-Alder reactions of transient nitrosoamidines are reported. Transient nitrosoamidines are formed by oxidation of protected N-hydroxylguanidines and are trapped in situ by 1,3-dienes to give [4 + 2] cycloadducts in good yields and regioselectivity. The resultant cycloadducts are versatile intermediates for the formation of functionalized guanidines. [reaction: see text]  相似文献

The rate coefficient for the reaction has been determined in mixtures of nitric acid (HNO3) and argon in incident shock wave experiments. Quantitative OH time-histories were obtained by cw narrow-linewidth uv laser absorption of the R1(5) line of the A2 σ+X2 Πi (0,0) transition at 32606.56 cm?1 (vacuum). The experiments were conducted over the temperature range 1050–2380 K and the pressure range 0.18–0.60 atm. The second-order rate coefficient was determined to be with overall uncertainties of +11%, ?16% at high temperatures and +25%, ?22% at low temperatures. The large amplitude oscillatory shear behavior of metallo-supramolecular polymer networks formed by adding bis-Pd(II) cross-linkers to poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PVP) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution is reported. The influence of scanning frequency, dissociation rate of cross-linkers, concentration of cross-linkers, and concentration of PVP solution on the large amplitude oscillatory shear behavior is explored. In semidilute unentangled PVP solutions, above a critical scanning frequency, strain hardening of both storage moduli and loss moduli is observed. In the semidilute entangled regime of PVP solution, however, strain softening is observed for samples with faster cross-linkers (k(d) ~ 1450 s(-1)), whereas strain hardening is observed for samples with slower cross-linkers (k(d) ~ 17 s(-1)). The mechanism of strain hardening is attributed primarily to a strain-induced increase in the number of elastically active chains, with possible contributions from non-Gaussian stretching of polymer chains at strains approaching network fracture. The divergent strain softening of samples with faster cross-linkers in semidilute entangled PVP solutions, relative to the strain hardening of samples with slower cross-linkers, is consistent with observed shear thinning/shear thickening behavior reported previously and is attributed to the fact that the average time that a cross-linker remains detached is too short to permit the local relaxation of polymer chain segments that is necessary for a net conversion of elastically inactive to elastically active cross-linkers. These and other observations paint a picture in which strain softening and shear thinning arise from the same set of molecular mechanisms, conceptually uniting the two nonlinear responses for this system.  相似文献

The combustion method described in this paper makes possible the determination of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen in highly air-sensitive compounds. A rigorous procedure was developed to ensure isolation from air when these compounds are analyzed. (π-C5H5)2Zr(CH3)2, which is known to hydrolyze in air, was used to assess the method′s capability of isolating the compounds from air prior to combustion. The procedural changes described resulted in improved precisions for the determination of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen for (π-C5H5)2Zr(CH3)2 by at least a factor of 4.  相似文献

Low-pressure adsorption of carbon dioxide and nitrogen was studied in both acidic and copper-exchanged forms of SSZ-13, a zeolite containing an 8-ring window. Under ideal conditions for industrial separations of CO(2) from N(2), the ideal adsorbed solution theory selectivity is >70 in each compound. For low gas coverage, the isosteric heat of adsorption for CO(2) was found to be 33.1 and 34.0 kJ/mol for Cu- and H-SSZ-13, respectively. From in situ neutron powder diffraction measurements, we ascribe the CO(2) over N(2) selectivity to differences in binding sites for the two gases, where the primary CO(2) binding site is located in the center of the 8-membered-ring pore window. This CO(2) binding mode, which has important implications for use of zeolites in separations, has not been observed before and is rationalized and discussed relative to the high selectivity for CO(2) over N(2) in SSZ-13 and other zeolites containing 8-ring windows.  相似文献

Protein cage nanoparticles (PCNs) are attractive platforms for developing functional nanomaterials using biomimetic approaches for functionalization and cargo encapsulation. Many strategies have been employed to direct the loading of molecular cargos inside a wide range of PCN architectures. Here we demonstrate the exploitation of a metal-ligand coordination bond with respect to the direct packing of guest molecules on the interior interface of a virus-like PCN derived from Salmonella typhimurium bacteriophage P22. The incorporation of these guest species was assessed using mass spectrometry, multiangle laser light scattering, and analytical ultracentrifugation. In addition to small-molecule encapsulation, this approach was also effective for the directed synthesis of a large macromolecular coordination polymer packed inside of the P22 capsid and initiated on the interior surface. A wide range of metals and ligands with different thermodynamic affinities and kinetic stabilities are potentially available for this approach, highlighting the potential for metal-ligand coordination chemistry to direct the site-specific incorporation of cargo molecules for a variety of applications.  相似文献

We explore and contrast the electroanalytical performance of a commercially available CVD grown graphene electrode with that of edge- and basal-plane pyrolytic graphite electrodes constructed from highly ordered pyrolytic graphite for the sensing of biologically important analytes, namely β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and uric acid (UA). We demonstrate that for the analytes studied here, in the best case, the electroanalytical performance of the CVD-graphene mimics that of edge plane pyrolytic graphite, suggesting no significant advantage of utilising CVD-graphene in this context.  相似文献

Epoxidized polybutadiene and epoxidized polynorbornene were subjected to pulsed ultrasound in the presence of small molecules capable of being trapped by carbonyl ylides. When epoxidized polybutadiene was sonicated, there was no observable small molecule addition to the polymer. Concurrently, no appreciable isomerization (cis to trans epoxide) was observed, indicating that the epoxide rings along the backbone are not mechanically active under the experimental conditions employed. In contrast, when epoxidized polynorbornene was subjected to the same conditions, both addition of ylide trapping reagents and net isomerization of cis to trans epoxide were observed. The results demonstrate the mechanical activity of epoxides, show that mechanophore activity is determined not only by the functional group but also the polymer backbone in which it is embedded, and facilitate a characterization of the reactivity of the ring-opened dialkyl epoxide.  相似文献

Criegee biradicals, i.e., carbonyl oxides, are critical intermediates in ozonolysis and have been implicated in autoignition chemistry and other hydrocarbon oxidation systems, but until recently the direct measurement of their gas-phase kinetics has not been feasible. Indirect determinations of Criegee intermediate kinetics often rely on the introduction of a scavenger molecule into an ozonolysis system and analysis of the effects of the scavenger on yields of products associated with Criegee intermediate reactions. Carbonyl species, in particular hexafluoroacetone (CF(3)COCF(3)), have often been used as scavengers. In this work, the reactions of the simplest Criegee intermediate, CH(2)OO (formaldehyde oxide), with three carbonyl species have been measured by laser photolysis/tunable synchrotron photoionization mass spectrometry. Diiodomethane photolysis produces CH(2)I radicals, which react with O(2) to yield CH(2)OO + I. The formaldehyde oxide is reacted with a large excess of a carbonyl reactant and both the disappearance of CH(2)OO and the formation of reaction products are monitored. The rate coefficient for CH(2)OO + hexafluoroacetone is k(1) = (3.0 ± 0.3) × 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), supporting the use of hexafluoroacetone as a Criegee-intermediate scavenger. The reactions with acetaldehyde, k(2) = (9.5 ± 0.7) × 10(-13) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), and with acetone, k(3) = (2.3 ± 0.3) × 10(-13) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), are substantially slower. Secondary ozonides and products of ozonide isomerization are observed from the reactions of CH(2)OO with acetone and hexafluoroacetone. Their photoionization spectra are interpreted with the aid of quantum-chemical and Franck-Condon-factor calculations. No secondary ozonide was observable in the reaction of CH(2)OO with acetaldehyde, but acetic acid was identified as a product under the conditions used (4 Torr and 293 K).  相似文献
