A simple model for fast correction of the horizontal position of atokamak plasma

A virtual movement of the plasma in the radial direction was studied in order to obtain the magnitude of the vertical field applied to the Tokamak de Varennes plasma for fast horizontal motion using coils inside the vacuum vessel. The developed model includes the radial dependence of several parameters     

K +→π + vv andK L 0 →μ + μ − decays within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

We present a detailed calculation of the contributions of charginos, scalar quarks, and charged Higgs boson to theK ⁺→π ⁺ vv andK _L ⁰ →μ ⁺ μ ⁻ decays. We include mixings: that of charginos and that of the scalar partners of the left and right handed top quark. We find that the box contribution to the amplitudes is much smaller than the penguin contribution, which can be ∼10% of the Standard Model contribution, even for relatively large SUSY masses. The charged Higgs contribution can be as large as 25% of the SM contribution in the first decay and as much as 40% of the SM contribution in the second decay.     

Distribution Properties of Multiply-with-Carry Random Number Generators

We study the multiply-with-carry family of generators proposed by Marsaglia as a generalization of previous add-with-carry families. We define for them an infinite state space and focus our attention on the (finite) subset of recurrent states. This subset will, in turn, split into possibly several subgenerators. We discuss the uniformity of the -dimensional distribution of the output of these subgenerators over their full period. In order to improve this uniformity for higher dimensions, we propose a method for finding good parameters in terms of the spectral test. Our results are stated in a general context and are applied to a related complementary multiply-with-carry family of generators.

     

An Easy and Concise Synthesis of Aza-Analogues of Calcium Antagonistic Benzothiazole Derivatives

The synthesis of three aza-analogues of benzothiazole derivatives possessing calcium antagonistic properties has been achieved.     

First asymmetric synthesis of (un)substituted bridged tetrahydro-2-benzazepines

A new and flexible route for the asymmetric synthesis of a variety of alkylated bridged tetrahydro-2-benzazepines has been developed. The key steps are the highly diastereoselective Michael addition of metalated SAMP-hydrazones to α,β-unsaturated esters combined with cyclomethylenation/Mitsunobu coupling reactions to secure the formation of the seven-membered azaheterocycle and of the bridged unit, respectively.     

\mu\rightarrow e\gamma decay in the left-right supersymmetric model

We calculate the dipole amplitude for the decay and related processes in the left-right supersymmetric model when parity breaking occurs at a considerably large scale. The low-energy flavor violation in the model originates either from the nonvanishing remnants of the left-right symmetry in the slepton mass matrix or from the direct flavor changing lepton-slepton-neutralino interaction. The result is found to be large and already accessible with current experimental accuracy for supersymmetric masses not far above the electroweak scale. It also provides nontrivial constraints on the lepton mixing in the model. Received: 8 June 1998 / Published online: 15 October 1998
