Asymmetric synthesis of α-alkyl α-selenocarbonyl compounds catalyzed by bifunctional organocatalysts
A new organocatalytic approach for the synthesis of a variety of α-alkyl, α-phenylselenyl ketones as well as their corresponding esters and amides, by the addition of α-selenocarbonyl derivatives to nitroalkenes catalyzed by thiourea or squaramide cinchona catalysts, is presented. This catalytic system allows the preparation in high yields of enantiomerically enriched selenocarbonyl derivatives bearing two chiral centers with excellent ee's and dr's by using catalytic loadings of 3 mol%. 相似文献

Sarcosine is an amino acid derivative of N-methylglycine and is involved in the amino acid metabolism and methylation processes that are enriched during prostate cancer
progression. It could also serve as a new target to be measured during therapeutic interventions and help in the identification
of aggressive tumors for radical treatment. In this study, we present a new urine test that can help early diagnosis of prostate
cancer. The method for the quantification of sarcosine in urine consists of a solid-phase microextraction (SPME) step followed
by gas chromatography–triple quadrupole mass spectrometry analysis. We used a preliminary derivatization step with ethyl chloroformate/ethanol
and the corresponding ester was then extracted by SPME in immersion mode. Several fibers were evaluated and the optimization
of the parameters affecting the SPME process was carried out using an experimental design. The optimal values were 20 min
extraction time, 10% NaCl, and 270°C using a divinylbenzene/Carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane fiber. The triple quadrupole analyzer
acquired data in selected reaction monitoring mode, allowing us to obtain reconstructed chromatograms with well-defined chromatographic
peaks. The accuracy and precision of this method were evaluated at concentrations of 70, 250, and 800 ng/ml and were found
to be acceptable. Very satisfactory values (0.10 and 0.16 ng/ml, respectively) were also achieved for the limit of detection
and the limit of quantification. The proposed protocol represents a rapid, simple, selective, and sensitive tool to quantify
sarcosine in urine samples for prostate cancer diagnosis and for a screening test. 相似文献

An accurate characterisation of the organic dyes used in artworks, especially those made of paper, is an important factor in designing safe conservation treatments. In the case of synthetic organic dyes used in modern works of art, for example, one frequently encountered difficulty is that some of these dyes are not still commercially available. Recognizing this problem, the authors of this paper present the results of an analysis of UV-Vis-NIR fibre optic reflectance spectra of 82 samples of dyed paper prepared with 41 dyes. The samples come from a historic book, The Dyeing of Paper in the Pulp, which was published by Interessen-Gemeinschaft (I.G.) Farbenindustrie in 1925. The dyes used in the paper pulp belong to the azo compounds, acridine, anthraquinone, azine, diphenylmethane, indigoid, methine, nitro, quinoline, thiazine, triphenylmethane, sulphur and xanthene classes. 相似文献

Value-function approximation is investigated for the solution via Dynamic Programming (DP) of continuous-state sequential N-stage decision problems, in which the reward to be maximized has an additive structure over a finite number of stages. Conditions that guarantee smoothness properties of the value function at each stage are derived. These properties are exploited to approximate such functions by means of certain nonlinear approximation schemes, which include splines of suitable order and Gaussian radial-basis networks with variable centers and widths. The accuracies of suboptimal solutions obtained by combining DP with these approximation tools are estimated. The results provide insights into the successful performances appeared in the literature about the use of value-function approximators in DP. The theoretical analysis is applied to a problem of optimal consumption, with simulation results illustrating the use of the proposed solution methodology.
