Study of the reactione + e −→K + K − in the energy range1350 \leqq \sqrt s \leqq 2400 MeV

Thee ⁺ e ^?→K ⁺ K ^? cross section has been measured from about 750 events in the energy interval \(1350 \leqq \sqrt s \leqq 2400 MeV\) with the DM2 detector at DCI. TheK ^± form factor |F _F ^±| cannot be explained by the ρ, ω, ? and ρ′(1600). An additional resonant amplitude at 1650 MeV has to be added as suggested by a previous experiment.     

Helical self-organization and hierarchical self-assembly of an oligoheterocyclic pyridine-pyridazine strand into extended supramolecular fibers

The synthesis and characterization of an alternating pyridine-pyridazine strand comprising thirteen heterocycles are described. Spontaneous folding into a helical secondary structure is based on a general molecular self-organization process enforced by the conformational information encoded within the primary structure of the molecular strand itself. Conformational control based on heterocyclic "helicity codons" illustrates a strategy for designing folding properties into synthetic oligomers (foldamers). Strong intermolecular interactions of the highly ordered lock-washer subunits of compound 3 results in hierarchical supramolecular self-assembly into protofibrils and fibrils. Compound 3 also forms mechanically stable two-dimensional Langmuir-Blodgett and cast thin films.     

Dimethylsulfoxide as a kinetic booster for the chemical generation of singlet oxygen in methanol

The kinetic booster effect of dimethylsulfoxide on the chemical generation of singlet oxygen, ¹O₂, from the disproportionation of hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by molybdate ions in methanol has been evidenced by detection of the IR luminescence of ¹O₂ at 1270 nm and by ⁹⁵Mo NMR spectroscopy. DMSO interacts rapidly, through a direct oxygen transfer with the stable tetraperoxomolybdate , leading to DMSO₂ and to the unstable triperoxomolybdate , which releases ¹O₂. The procedure was applied to accelerate the dark singlet oxygenation of β-citronellol and α-terpinene.     

A comprehensive approach of planning and scheduling based on petri nets

The main results available on the use of black-and-white Petri nets for modelling, planning and scheduling manufacturing systems are presented. In the first part of the paper, the basics of Petri nets necessary to understand the subsequent presentation are introduced. Particular attention is paid to event graphs, a particular type of Petri nets used for modelling and evaluating ratio-driven systems. The second part of the paper is devoted to ratio-driven systems, their modelling and their scheduling. Job-shops, assembly systems, and KANBAN systems are used to illustrate this section. Finally, the general case is investigated of manufacturing systems subject to changing demands. An approach based on conflict-free Petri nets with input and output transitions is proposed for planning and scheduling this type of system.     

Luminescence Properties of Eu3+ Complexes of Tripode and Tetrapode Ligands Containing 2,2′-Bipyridine Units

The Eu³⁺ complexes of the tripode and tetrapode ligands 1 and 2 , respectively, containing 2,2′-bipyridine coordinating units have been prepared. The UV absorption and luminescence spectra, lifetimes, and quantum yields have been measured under a variety of experimental conditions. The contributions of different paths to the decay of the luminescent excited state are evaluated, and the structures of the complexes are discussed on the basis of spectroscopic and photophysical data.     

Constantes de couplage vicinales à travers deux hétéroatomes: III—Calculs théoriques et mesures expérimentales dans les hydrazides enrichies en 15N

Different calculations, among them those utilizing the finite perturbation theory with INDO wave functions, have been effected to calculate the value of the ³J(¹H ? N? N? ¹H ) coupling constant in hydrazides as a function of the dihedral angle. Experimental coupling constants have been compared with calculated ones in order to determine the conformation around the N? N bond. The first example of a ²J(¹H ? N? ¹⁵N ) coupling is described.
