We present evidence for a nonsingular origin of the Universe with intial conditions determined by quantum physics and relativistic
gravity. In particular, we establish that the present temperature of the microwave background and the present density of the
Universe agree well with our predictions from these intial conditions, after evolution to the present age using the Einstein-Friedmann
equation. Remarkably, the quantum origin for the Universe naturally allows its evolution at exactly the critical density.
We also discuss the consequences of these results to some fundamental aspects of quantum physics in the early Universe. 相似文献

Superoxide reductase (SOR) and P450 enzymes contain similar [Fe(N)4(SCys)] active sites and, although they catalyze very different reactions, are proposed to involve analogous low-spin (hydro)peroxo-Fe(III) intermediates in their respective mechanisms that can be modeled by cyanide binding. The equatorial FeN4 ligation by four histidine ligands in CN-SOR and the heme in CN-P450cam is directly compared by 14N ENDOR, while the axial Fe-CN and Fe-S bonding is probed by 13C ENDOR of the cyanide ligand and 1Hbeta ENDOR measurements to determine the spin density delocalization onto the cysteine sulfur. There are small, but notable, differences in the bonding between Fe(III) and its ligands in the two enzymes. The ENDOR measurements are complemented by DFT computations that support the semiempirical equation used to compute spin densities on metal-coordinated cysteinyl and shed light on bonding changes as the Fe-C-N linkage bends. They further indicate that H bonds to the cysteinyl thiolate sulfur ligand reduce the spin density on the sulfur in both active sites to a degree that exceeds the difference induced by the alternative sets of "in-plane" nitrogen ligands. 相似文献

Mixed OH/H2O structures, formed by the reaction of O and water on Pt(111), decompose near 200 K as water desorbs. With an apparent activation barrier that varies between 0.42 and 0.86 eV depending on the composition, coverage, and heating rate of the film, water desorption does not follow a simple kinetic form. The adsorbate is stabilized by the formation of a complete hydrogen bonding network between equivalent amounts of OH and H2O, island edges, and defects in the structure enhancing the decomposition rate. Monte Carlo simulations of water desorption were made using a model potential fitted to first-principles calculations. We find that desorption occurs via several distinct pathways, including direct or proton-transfer mediated desorption and OH recombination. Hence, no single rate determining step has been found. Desorption occurs preferentially from low coordination defect or edge sites, leading to complex kinetics which are sensitive to both the temperature, composition, and history of the sample. 相似文献

NIST has developed an extensive collection of environmental SRMs, starting with fuel and biologically related materials in the late 1960s and now encompassing all sectors of environmental research. Advances in analytical methodology, including multi-element isotope-dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) and expanded instrumental neutron-activation analysis (INAA) capabilities, enable value assignment based on fewer but better-characterized independent analytical techniques. The special advantages of IDMS for determination of S and Hg and for multi-element characterization of small-sample air particulate matter (SRM 2783) by IDMS and INAA are emphasized. The concept of a generalized affine plane was introduced in [2]. To each such generalized affine plane there is a group of (bijective) dilations and a subgroup of translations. The subgroup of translations gives a nearring of trace preserving quasi-endomorphisms and there is a subgroup fo the translations, called the semi-identities, that give an ideal in this near-ring. The quotient nearring is a skew field. This paper is concerned with the structure of the various subgroups of dilations that arise from the geometry of the generalized affine planes.
