Bursting activity is an interesting feature of the temporal organization in many cell firing patterns. This complex behavior is characterized by clusters of spikes (action potentials) interspersed with phases of quiescence. As shown in experimental recordings, concerning the electrical activity of real neurons, the analysis of bursting models reveals not only patterned periodic activity but also irregular behavior [1], [2]. The interpretation of experimental results, particularly the study of the influence of coupling on chaotic bursting oscillations, is of great interest from physiological and physical perspectives. The inability to predict the behavior of dynamical systems in presence of chaos suggests the application of chaos control methods, when we are more interested in obtaining regular behavior. In the present article, we focus our attention on a specific class of biophysically motivated maps, proposed in the literature to describe the chaotic activity of spiking–bursting cells [Cazelles B, Courbage M, Rabinovich M. Anti-phase regularization of coupled chaotic maps modelling bursting neurons. Europhys Lett 2001;56:504–9]. More precisely, we study a map that reproduces the behavior of a single cell and a map used to examine the role of reciprocal inhibitory coupling, specially on two symmetrically coupled bursting neurons. Firstly, using results of symbolic dynamics, we characterize the topological entropy associated to the maps, which allows us to quantify and to distinguish different chaotic regimes. In particular, we exhibit numerical results about the effect of the coupling strength on the variation of the topological entropy. Finally, we show that complicated behavior arising from the chaotic coupled maps can be controlled, without changing of its original properties, and turned into a desired attracting time periodic motion (a regular cycle). The control is illustrated by an application of a feedback control technique developed by Romeiras et al. [Romeiras FJ, Grebogi C, Ott E, Dayawansa WP. Controlling chaotic dynamical systems. We introduce a new family of hyperplane arrangements in dimension that includes both the Shi arrangement and the Ish arrangement. We prove that all the members of a given subfamily have the same number of regions – the connected components of the complement of the union of the hyperplanes – which can be bijectively labeled with the Pak–Stanley labeling. A comparative study of source preparation techniques to determine uranium isotopic composition by alpha spectrometry, namely electrodeposition and chemical stripping with polymeric membranae containing trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO), is presented. The mean yield obtained for electrodeposition and TOPO deposition were 85% and 74%, respectively. The mean activity ratio235U/238U were 0.044 and 0.042 and the ratio234U/238U were 0.994 and 1.009, using electrodeposition and TOPO deposition techniques, respectively. The method of uranium separation from urine using an ion-exchange resin Dowex 1×8, chloride form and citrate form, was also studied. In this paper, we study the recently proposed encryption scheme MST 3, focusing on a concrete instantiation using Suzuki-2-groups. In a passive scenario, we argue that the one wayness of this scheme may not, as claimed, be proven without the assumption that factoring group elements with respect to random covers for a subset of the group is hard. As a result, we conclude that for the proposed Suzuki 2-groups instantiation, impractical key sizes should be used in order to prevent more or less straightforward factorization attacks. 相似文献

Ayahuasca is a beverage consumed at shamanic ceremonies and currently has gained popularity on recreational scenarios. It contains beta-carboline alkaloids and N,N-dimethyltryptamine, which possesses hallucinogenic effects. Only a few studies have elicited the psychoactive effects and the dose of such compounds on neurological dopaminergic cells or animals. In this work, we aimed to study the cytotoxic effects of these compounds present in ayahuasca beverages and on five different teas (Banisteriopsis caapi, Psychotria viridis, Peganum harmala, Mimosa tenuiflora and Dc Ab (commercial name)) preparations on dopaminergic immortalized cell lines. Moreover, a characterization of the derivative alkaloids was also performed. All the extracts were characterized by chromatographic systems and the effect of those compounds in cell viability and total protein levels were analyzed in N27 dopaminergic neurons cell line. This is the first article where cytotoxicity of ayahuasca tea is studied on neurological dopaminergic cells. Overall, results showed that both cell viability and protein contents decreased when cells were exposed to the individual compounds, as well as to the teas and to the two mixtures based on the traditional ayahuasca beverages. 相似文献
