A mechanistic understanding on the enhanced kinetics of hydrogen storage in the NaBH(4)-added Mg(NH(2))(2)-2LiH system is provided by carrying out experimental investigations associated with first-principles calculations. It is found that the operating temperatures for hydrogen desorption of the Mg(NH(2))(2)-2LiH system are reduced by introducing NaBH(4), and the NaBH(4) species seems almost unchanged during dehydrogenation/hydrogenation process. First-principles calculations reveal that the presence of NaBH(4) in the Mg(NH(2))(2)-2LiH system facilitates the formation of Mg vacancies in Mg(NH(2))(2). The appearance of Mg vacancies not only weakens the N-H bonds but also promotes the diffusion of atoms and/or ions, consequently resulting in the improvement of the reaction kinetics of hydrogen desorption/absorption of the NaBH(4)-added Mg(NH(2))(2)-2LiH system. This finding provides us with a deep insight into the role played by NaBH(4) in the Li-Mg-N-H system, as well as ideas for designing high-performance catalysts for metal-N-H-based hydrogen storage media. 相似文献

A high-efficiency dye-sensitized solar cell prototype has been designed and fabricated, in which the working electrode and counter electrode are in direct contact and singly twisted. The cell is sealed in a capillary. In this solar cell configuration, the area ratio between the counter and working electrode is extremely low which allows the independent adjustment of electrolyte volume and the distance between counter electrode and photo-anode. Also it is more easily sealed compared to planar solar cell. The effects of TiO(2) film thickness, twisted pitch of counter electrode and length of device have been investigated. Our results indicate that this novel configuration has demonstrated excellent modularization function, three dimensional light harvesting capacities and the relative independence of incident light angles due to the symmetry structure. The power conversion efficiency of one cell of 9.5 cm in length can reach up to 5.41% at standard test condition (100 mW cm(-2)) and the power output may double under intense diffuse illumination. As far as we know, this is the longest and most efficient fiber-shaped dye-sensitized solar cell consisting of liquid electrolyte. The longer the fiber-shaped solar cell is, the more suitable it is for woven solar power textile if it is encapsulated in transparent flexible plastic capillary. 相似文献

The photoionization and photodissociation of L-valine are studied by tunable synchrotron vacuum ultraviolet photoionization mass spectrometry at the photon energy of 13 eV. The ionization energy of L-valine and the appearance energies of major fragments are measured by the photoionization efficiency spectrum in the photon energy range of 8-11 eV. Possible formation pathways of the major fragments, NH(2)CHC(OH)(2)(+) (m/z=75), NH(2)(CH(3))(2)(CH)(2)(+) (m/z=72) and NH(2)CHCO(+) (m/z=57), are discussed in detail with the theoretical calculations at the B3LYP/6-31++G (d, p) level. Hydrogen migration is considered as the key way for the formation of NH(2)CHC(OH)(2)(+) (m/z=75) and NH(2)CHCO(+) (m/z=57). Furthermore, other fragments, NH(2)CHCOOH(+) (m/z=74), (CH(3))(2)(CH)(2)(+) (m/z=56), C(4)H(7)(+) (m/z=55), NH(2)CHOH(+) (m/z=46), NH(2)CH(2)(+) (m/z=30) and m/z=18, species are also briefly described. 相似文献

A three-layer poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) electrophoresis microchip integrated with Pt microelectrodes for contactless conductivity detection is presented. A 50 μm-thick PMMA film is used as the insulating layer and placed between the channel plate (containing the microchannel) and the electrode plate (containing the microelectrode). The three-layer structure facilitates the achievement of a thin insulating layer, obviates the difficulty of integrating microelectrodes on a thin film, and does not compromise the integration of microchips. To overcome the thermal and chemical incompatibilities of polymers and photolithographic techniques, a modified lift-off process was developed to integrate Pt microelectrodes onto the PMMA substrate. A novel two-step bonding method was created to assemble the complete PMMA microchip. A low limit of detection of 1.25 μg ml(-1) for Na(+) and high separation efficiency of 77,000 and 48,000 plates/m for Na(+) and K(+) were obtained when operating the detector at a low excitation frequency of 60 kHz. 相似文献

Concentrated hard sphere suspensions often show an interesting nonlinear behavior, called strain stiffening, in which the viscosity or modulus starts to increase at critical strain amplitude. Sudden increase of rheological properties is similar to shear thickening; however, the particle dynamics in the strain stiffening under oscillatory shear flow does not necessarily coincide with the mechanism of shear thickening under step shear flow. In this study, we have systematically investigated the nonlinear rheology of non-colloidal (>1???m) hard sphere suspensions dispersed in Newtonian fluid near liquid-and-crystal coexistence region in order to better understand the strain stiffening behavior. The suspensions near liquid-and-crystal coexistence region are known to locally form the closed packing structure. The critical strain amplitude which is the onset of strain stiffening was different for the storage and loss modulus. But they converged to each other as the suspension forms a more crystalline structure. The critical strain amplitude was independent of medium viscosity, imposed angular frequency, and particle size, but was strongly dependent upon particle volume fraction. The onset of strain stiffening was explained in terms of shear-induced collision due to particle motion in the closed packing structure. Nonlinear stress wave-forms, which reflect the micro-structural change, were observed with the onset of strain stiffening. During the strain stiffening, enhanced elastic stress before and after flow reversal was observed which originates from changes in the suspension microstructure. Nonlinearity of the shear stress in terms of Fourier intensity was extremely increased up to 0.55. Beyond the strain stiffening, the suspension responded liquid-like and the nonlinearity decreased but the elastic shear stress was still indicating the microstructure rearrangement within a cycle. 相似文献
