The nature of the emergent phase near a putative quantum critical point in the bilayer ruthenate Sr3Ru2O7 has been a recent subject of intensive research. It has been suggested that this phase may possess electronic nematic order (ENO). In this work, we investigate the possibility of nematic domain formation in the emergent phase, using a phenomenological model of electrons with ENO and its coupling to lattice degrees of freedom. The resistivity due to the scattering off the domain walls is shown to closely follow the ENO parameter. Our results provide qualitative explanations for the dependence of the resistivity on external magnetic fields in Sr3Ru2O7.  相似文献

The diffusion coefficient and exchange current density are the two dominant parameters that determine the electrochemical characteristics of the electrochemical battery model. Nevertheless, both parameter values are generally adopted from well-known literature or experimental data measured under limited conditions and are sometimes overfitted to match actual electrochemical behaviors without full consideration. Herein, the diffusion coefficients and exchange current densities of a LiNi0·4Mn0·3Co0·3O2/Li cell are measured and applied to the electrochemical model (based on Newman's model) using four different electrochemical methods: galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT), potentiostatic intermittent titration technique (PITT), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Without any fitting, the model adopting the diffusion coefficient and exchange current density measured from PITT and EIS, respectively, simulates the actual voltage–capacity profiles well. Thus, this case study provides a valuable opportunity to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each measurement method in obtaining key experimental parameters for electrochemical battery models.  相似文献

A ring R is called “quasi-Baer” if the right annihilator of every right ideal is generated, as a right ideal, by an idempotent. It can be seen that a quasi-Baer ring cannot be a right essential extension of a nilpotent right ideal. Birkenmeier asked: Does there exist a quasi-Baer ring which is a right essential extension of its prime radical? We answer this question in the affirmative. Moreover, we provide an example of a quasi-Baer ring in which the right essentiality of the prime radical does not imply the left essentiality of the prime radical.  相似文献

We study the dynamical aspects of an anemoscope indicating a wind direction by constructing a model in the discrete view of fluid. Due to the non-linearity of the rotational equation, the geometrical method is applied for the qualitative analysis. For a given wind direction, there are two fixed points of the parallel and anti-parallel configurations. Near the anti-parallel configuration of the stable fixed point, the anemoscope performs a damped harmonic oscillation. It can be noteworthy that there is always the damping term for both the configurations even in the absence of the non-aerodynamic frictional force from, for example, the axis of rotation. The argument using the index of a closed curve in the phase portrait seems to support the non-existence of periodic solution.  相似文献

Low bandgap polymers with dithienylquinoxaline moieties based on 6H‐phenanthro[1,10,9,8‐cdefg]carbazole were synthesized via the Suzuki coupling reaction. Alkoxy groups were substituted at two different positions on the phenyl groups of the quinoxaline units of these polymers: in the para‐position (PPQP) and in the meta‐position (PPQM). The two polymers showed similar physical properties: broad absorption in the range of 400–700 nm, optical bandgaps of ~1.8 eV, and the appropriate frontier orbital energy levels for efficient charge transfer/separation at polymer/PC71BM interfaces. However, the PPQM solar cell achieved a higher PCE due to its higher Jsc. Our investigation of the morphologies of the polymer:PC71BM blend films and theoretical calculations of the molecular conformations of the polymer chains showed that the polymer with the meta‐positioned alkoxy group has better miscibility with PC71BM than the polymer with the para‐positioned alkoxy group because the dihedral angle of its phenyl group with respect to the quinoxaline unit is higher. This higher miscibility resulted in a polymer:PC71BM blend film with a better morphology and thus in a higher PCE. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. The ESB/GDC bilayer electrolyte concept has been proved to improve open circuit voltage and reduce the effective area specific resistance of SOFCs utilizing a conventional single-layer GDC electrolyte. However, high performance from such bilayer cells had not yet been demonstrated. The main obstacles toward this end have been fabrication of anode-supported thin-film electrolytes and the reactivity of ESB with conventional cathodes. Recently, an ESB-compatible low area specific resistance cathode was developed: microstructurally optimized Bi2Ru2O7-ESB composites. In addition, we recently developed a novel anode functional layer which can significantly enhance the performance of SOFC utilizing GDC electrolytes. This study combines these recent achievements in SOFC studies and shows that exceptionally high performance of SOFC is possible using ESB/GDC bilayer electrolytes and Bi2Ru2O7-ESB composite cathodes. The result confirms that the bilayer electrolyte and the Bi2Ru2O7-ESB cathode can increase the open circuit potential and reduce the total area specific resistance. The maximum power density of the bilayered SOFC was improved to 1.95 W cm?2 with 0.079 Ω cm2 total cell area specific resistance at 650 °C. This is the highest power yet achieved in the IT range and we believe redefines the expectation level for maximum power under IT-SOFC operating conditions.  相似文献

This study considers the acoustic streaming in water produced by a lithotripsy pulse. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) method was employed to visualize the acoustic streaming produced by an electromagnetic shock wave generator using video images of the light scattering particles suspended in water. Visualized streaming features including several local peaks and vortexes around or at the beam focus were easily seen with naked eyes over all settings of the lithotripter from 10 to 18 kV. Magnitudes of the peak streaming velocity measured vary in the range of 10-40 mm s(-1) with charging voltage settings. Since the streaming velocity was estimated on the basis of a series of the video images of particles averaged over 1/60s, the time resolution limited by the video frame rate which is 1-2 orders of magnitude larger than driving acoustic activities, measured velocities are expected to be underestimated and were shown a similar order of magnitude lower than those calculated from a simple theoretical consideration. Despite such an underestimation, it was shown that, as predicted by theory, the magnitude of the streaming velocity measured by the present PIV method was proportional to acoustic intensity. In particular it has almost a linear correlation with peak negative pressures (r=0.98683, p=0.0018).  相似文献

A reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS), one of state-of-the-art manufacturing system technologies, is the one designed at the outset for rapid changes in its hardware and software components in order to quickly adjust its production capacity and functionality in response to market or system changes. In this study, we consider a cellular RMS with multiple reconfigurable machining cells (RMCs), each of which has numerical control machines, a setup station, and an automatic material handling and storage system. Each machine within the RMC has an automatic tool changer and a tool magazine of a limited capacity. Two important operational problems, part grouping and loading, are considered in this study. Part grouping is the problem of allocating parts to RMCs, and loading is the problem of allocating operations and their cutting tools to machines within the RMC. An integer programming model is suggested to represent the two problems at the same time for the objective of balancing the workloads assigned to machines. Then, due to the complexity of the problem, we suggest two iterative algorithms in which the two problems are solved repeatedly until a solution is obtained. Computational experiments were done on various test instances and the results are reported.  相似文献

A novel photoresist (PR) that can be processed under mild aqueous conditions was synthesized and used to create photogenerated polyelectrolyte bilayers. Thin films of the PR cast on polycation-coated substrates were exposed to UV irradiation to generate carboxylate groups in the photoresist. The bulk of the UV-exposed PR film was dissolved by rinsing with pH 7.4 phosphate-buffered saline, but a polyelectrolyte bilayer formed in situ at the PR/polycation interface on exposure remained bound to the substrate. The UV-exposed photoresist also exhibited pH-dependent solubility; it was soluble in water above pH 6.6, but insoluble at lower pHs. Using these unique properties, two-component protein patterning was achieved using biotinylated PR films under conditions that avoid exposing the proteins to conditions outside the narrow range of physiological pH, ionic strength, and temperature where their stability is greatest.  相似文献

Summary The 239+240Pu content of the marine sediments and seawater of the costal sea of Korea was measured. In marine sediments the 239+240Pu concentrations were in the range of 0.11-1.91 Bq/kg dry weight and in the coastal sea of Korea the ratio of 239+240Pu/137Cs was 0.27. The correlations between 239+240Pu and 137Cs concentrations and the content of organic matter (C, O, H, N, S) as well as the grain size of marine sediment were investigated by regression analysis. The distribution coefficient of 239+240Pu was 1.22. 105. The 239+240Pu concentration in seawater increased with seawater depth. However, the 137Cs concentration in seawater did not change considerably with depth.  相似文献
