Growing in line: The surface chemistry of self‐assembled nanostructured block copolymers is used to control the sites at which semiconducting metal sulfide nanocrystals nucleate and grow on a surface directly from aqueous solutions. This process is a new and general strategy for the bottom‐up assembly of functional nanocrystalline materials for a variety of applications.
A systematic study of various metal trifluoromethanesulfonates as efficient catalysts in the regioselective reductive ring opening of benzylidene acetals is described, including the effects of solvents, reducing agents, and temperature. These catalysts are found to be effective in cleaving the 4,6‐O‐acetal rings of hexopyranosides at either O4 or O6, respectively. When used in conjunction with a 1 M solution of BH3·THF in THF without extra addition of any solvent, it affects the ring fission at the O6 position to generate the corresponding primary alcohols, whereas O4‐opening takes place in acetonitrile in the presence of dimethylethylsilane as the reductant leading to the secondary hydroxyl derivatives in high selectivity and yields. Withdrawal of the support for the REMEDi HS drug profiling system has necessitated its replacement within our laboratories with an alternative broad toxicological screening technique. To this end, a novel method, based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) and time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometry, was developed for the routine analysis of urine samples. Identification was achieved by comparison of acquired data to libraries containing more than 300 common drugs and metabolites, and was based on a combination of retention time, exact mass and fragmentation patterns. Validation data for the method is presented and comprised an evaluation of the following parameters: precision; transferability of the methodology between the six collaborating laboratories; specificity; extraction recovery and stability of processed samples; matrix effects and sensitivity.This paper presents the benefits of supplementary fragmentation data with particular regard to increasing specificity and confidence of identification and its usefulness with overdosed samples. The utility of the method was assessed by the parallel analysis of 30 authentic urine samples using the REMEDi HS and UPLC-TOF. The latter provided enhanced detection, leading to the identification of twice as many drugs. Furthermore it did not miss any compounds that were identified by REMEDi HS. The UPLC-TOF findings were further verified by a combination of data from three other conventional screening techniques, i.e., GC-MS, HPLC-DAD and UPLC-MS/MS. 相似文献
Treatment of Pd(PPh3)4 with 2‐bromo‐3‐hydroxypyridine [C5H3N(OH)Br] and 3‐amino‐2‐bromopyridine [C5H3N(NH2)Br] in dichloromethane at ambient temperature cause the oxidative addition reaction to produce the palladium complex [Pd(PPh3)2{η1‐C5H3N(OH)}(Br)], 2 and [Pd(PPh3)2{η1‐C5H3N(NH2)}(Br)], 3 , by substituting two triphenylphosphine ligands, respectively. In dichloromethane solution of complexes 2 and 3 at ambient temperature for 3 days, it undergo displacement of the triphenylphosphine ligand to form the dipalladium complexes [Pd(PPh3)Br]2{μ,η2‐C5H3N(OH)}2, 4 and [Pd(PPh3)Br]2{μ,η2‐C5H3N(NH2)}2, 5 , in which the two 3‐hydroxypyridine and 3‐aminopyridine ligands coordinated through carbon to one metal center and bridging the other metal through nitrogen atom, respectively. Existence of global solutions to the equation and uniform stability of solutions in the absence of external force were introduced in the previous work on the Boltzmann equation. In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem, the set of common fixed point for a family of infinitely nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for α-inverse-strongly monotone mappings in a Hilbert space. Under suitable conditions, some strong convergence theorems for approximating a common element of the above three sets are obtained. As applications, at the end of the paper we utilize our results to study the optimization problem and some convergence problem for strictly pseudocontractive mappings. The problem of Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic elastic medium under the influence of gravity and initial stress was investigated by Abd-Alla [A. M. Abd-Alla, Propagation of Rayleigh waves in an elastic half-space of orthotropic material, Appl. Math. Comput. 99 (1999) 61-69], and the secular equation of the wave in the implicit form was derived. However, due to the uncorrect representation of the solution, the secular equation is not right. The main aim of the present paper is to reconsider this problem. We find the secular equation of the wave in explicit form. By considering some special cases, we obtain the exact explicit secular equations of Rayleigh waves under the effect of gravity of some previous studies, in which only implicit secular equations were derived. 相似文献

1-Propanethiol is chosen as a model alkanethiol to probe detailed mechanisms of the self-assembled monolayer (SAM) formation at aqueous/Au(111) interfaces. The assembly processes, including initial physi- and chemisorption, pit formation, and domain growth, were recorded into movies in real-time with high resolution by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) under potential control. Two major adsorption steps were disclosed in the propanethiol SAM formation. The first step involves weak interactions accompanied by the lift of the Au(111) surface reconstruction, which depends reversibly on the electrochemical potentials. The second step is chemisorption to form a dense monolayer, accompanied by formation of pits as well as structural changes in the terrace edges. Pits emerged at the stage of the reconstruction lift and increased to a maximum surface coverage of 4.0 +/- 0.4% at the completion of the SAM formation. Well-defined triangular pits in the SAM were found on the large terraces (more than 300 nm wide), whereas few and small pinholes appeared at the terrace edge areas. Smooth edges were converted into saw-like structural features during the SAM formation, primarily along the Au(111) atomic rows. These observations suggest that shrinking and rearrangement of gold atoms are responsible for both formation of the pits and the shape changes of the terrace edges. STM images disclose a (2 square root 3 x 3)R30 degrees periodic lattice within the ordered domains. Along with electrochemical measurements, each lattice unit is assigned to contain four propanethiol molecules exhibiting different electronic contrasts, which might originate in different surface orientations of the adsorbed molecules. 相似文献
