Experimental data are presented that are consistent with the hypothesis that anomalous rf absorption in helicon sources is due to electron scattering arising from parametrically driven ion-acoustic waves downstream from the antenna. Also presented are ion temperature measurements demonstrating anisotropic heating (T( perpendicular)>T(parallel)) at the edge of the discharge. The most likely explanation is ion-Landau damping of electrostatic slow waves at a local lower-hybrid-frequency resonance. 相似文献

Electron beams with the lowest, normalized transverse emittance recorded so far were produced and confirmed in single-bunch-mode operation of the Accelerator Test Facility at KEK. We established a tuning method of the damping ring which achieves a small vertical dispersion and small x-y orbit coupling. The vertical emittance was less than 1% of the horizontal emittance. At the zero-intensity limit, the vertical normalized emittance was less than 2.8 x 10(-8) rad m at beam energy 1.3 GeV. At high intensity, strong effects of intrabeam scattering were observed, which had been expected in view of the extremely high particle density due to the small transverse emittance. 相似文献

The low-energy electronic structure of the nearly optimally doped trilayer cuprate superconductor Bi(2)Sr(2)Ca(2)Cu(3)O(10+delta) is investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The normal state quasiparticle dispersion and Fermi surface and the superconducting d-wave gap and coherence peak are observed and compared with those of single- and bilayer systems. We find that both the superconducting gap magnitude and the relative coherence-peak intensity scale linearly with T(c) for various optimally doped materials. 相似文献

Frame rate in ultrasound imaging can be dramatically increased by using sparse synthetic transmit aperture (STA) beamforming techniques. The two main drawbacks of the method are the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the motion artifacts, that degrade the image quality. In this paper we propose a spatio-temporal encoding for STA imaging based on simultaneous transmission of two quasi-orthogonal tapered linear FM signals. The excitation signals are an up- and a down-chirp with frequency division and a cross-talk of -55 dB. The received signals are first cross-correlated with the appropriate code, then spatially decoded and finally beamformed for each code, yielding two images per emission. The spatial encoding is a Hadamard encoding previously suggested by Chiao et al. [in: Proceedings of the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, 1997, p. 1679]. The Hadamard matrix has half the size of the transmit element groups, due to the orthogonality of the temporal encoded wavefronts. Thus, with this method, the frame rate is doubled compared to previous systems. Another advantage is the utilization of temporal codes which are more robust to attenuation. With the proposed technique it is possible to obtain images dynamically focused in both transmit and receive with only two firings. This reduces the problem of motion artifacts. The method has been tested with extensive simulations using Field II. Resolution and SNR are compared with uncoded STA imaging and conventional phased-array imaging. The range resolution remains the same for coded STA imaging with four emissions and is slightly degraded for STA imaging with two emissions due to the -55 dB cross-talk between the signals. The additional proposed temporal encoding adds more than 15 dB on the SNR gain, yielding a SNR at the same order as in phased-array imaging. 相似文献

We report a study of the optical near field of an active integrated component operating near the 1.55-mum telecommunications wavelength. The device is based on a two-dimensional photonic crystal etched in a suspended InP membrane. 57Fe transmission Mössbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry were used to study - and -polymorphs of iron phthalocyanines (FePc) to get information about their oxygenation in connection with controlled pyrolysis of flat layered phthalocyanines initiated by radicals at relatively low temperatures, to form acicular carbide particles encaged in carbon. Mössbauer spectroscopy and XRD revealed that the oxygenation of both - and -polymorphs of FePc was successfully achieved. New Mössbauer spectral components (doublets) appeared upon the oxygenation in both and FePc. This can be attributed to iron microenvironments containing oxygen between the layers of iron phthalocyanines. 相似文献

High quality ZnO film was deposited by plasma-assisted metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). We observed a dominant peak at 34.6° due to (0 0 2) ZnO, which indicated that the growth of ZnO film was strongly C-oriented. The full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of the -rocking curve was 0.56° indicating relatively small mosaicity. Photoluminescence (PL) measurement was performed at both room temperature and low temperature. Ultraviolet (UV) emission at 3.30 eV was found with high intensity at room temperature while the deep level transition was weakly observed at 2.513 eV. The ratio of the intensity of UV emission to that of deep level emission was as high as 193, which implied high quality of ZnO film. From PL spectrum at 10 K, we observed A-exciton emission at 3.377 eV and D°X bound exciton transition at 3.370 eV. The donor–acceptor transition and LO phonon replicas were observed at 3.333 and 3.241 eV respectively. Raman scattering was performed in back scattering at room temperature. The E2, A1(LO) and A1(TO) mode was seen at 437.6, 575.8 and 380 cm–1 respectively. In comparison with Raman spectrum of ZnO powder, we found that ZnO film was nearly free of strain, which indicated high crystal quality. 相似文献

We propose a novel geometry for a self-pumped phase conjugator that uses a +c-face incident configuration in a photorefractive pentagon-shaped 0°-cut BaTiO3 crystal for obtaining fast response in phase conjugation. A steady phase-conjugate output with a fast response time 0.4 s is obtained when the incident beam has a 4 W/cm2 intensity. The influences of position and angle on the temporal phase-conjugate response are also investigated. The advantage of this phase conjugator using this novel configuration is improved resolution of a phase-distorted image with a value as high as 128 lp/mm. 相似文献

The energies of some excited states with the total angular momentum L=0, 1 and 2. the total spin of two electrons S=0 and 1, and the even and odd parities are precisely calculated directly from the Schrödinger equation where the mass of the helium nucleus is finite.
