In this work we propose some experiments with the use of optical computer mouse, associated to low cost lasers that can be used to perform several measurements with applications in industry and in human health monitoring. The mouse was used to grab the movements produced by speckle pattern changes and to get information through the adaptation of its structure. We measured displacements in wood samples under strain, variations of the diameter of an artery due to heart beat and, through a hardware simulation, the movement of an eye, an experiment that could be of low cost help for communication to severely handicapped motor patients. Those measurements were done in spite of the fact that the CCD sensor of the mice is monolithically included into an integrated circuit so that the raw image cannot be accessed. If, as was the case with primitive optical mouse, that signal could be accessed, the quality and usefulness of the measurements could be significantly increased. As it was not possible, a webcam sensor was used for measuring the drying of paint, a standard phenomenon for testing biospeckle techniques, in order to prove the usefulness of the mouse design. The results showed that the use of the mouse associated to a laser pointer could be the way to get metrological information from many phenomena involving the whole field spatial displacement, as well as the use of the mouse as in its prime version allowed to get images of the speckle patterns and to analyze them. 相似文献

Diethylcarbamazine citrate (DEC) is the main drug used in the lymphatic filariasis treatment. This study aimed to evaluate drug-excipient compatibility of binary mixtures (BMs) (1:1, w/w), initially by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and subsequently, if there were any interaction evidence, by complementary techniques, such as thermogravimetric (TG), non-isothermal kinetics, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). For the analyses of the BMs by DSC, we selected those with Tabletose®, representing the excipients containing lactose, polivinilpirrolidona (PVP), and magnesium stearate (MgS). The additional analyses by FT-IR and XRD showed no interaction evidence. The TG curves of DEC–Tabletose® showed no signs of interaction, unlike the TG curves of PVP and MgS, confirming the results of non-isothermal kinetics, in which the BMs with PVP and MgS decreased the reaction activation energy. The experimental and theoretical study for evaluation of scavenging activity of edaravone (S1) and related derivatives, such as antipyrine (S2), dipyrone (S3), and phenylbutazone (S4), was carried out against DPPH and ABTS radicals. Structure–activity relationship study was performed using quantum chemical calculations at the DFT/B3LYP level of theory along with the 6-31G* basis sets. S1 and S4 are more effective scavengers against DPPH and ABTS. We observed little effects of S2 and S3 at several concentrations against these two free radicals. The calculations of HOMO, ionization potential, and bond dissociation energy confirmed that a hydrogen transfer is more preferential than an electron transfer. The radical stability of these compounds is related with spin densities. In accordance with experimental and theoretical results, edaravone is more active than phenylbutazone as scavenging drug. 相似文献

Due to its location on West Coast of Africa, Cape Verde is highly influenced by Sahara Desert dust events being an optimum place to observe and study the African aeolian aerosol. During 2011, particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter lower than 10 μm (PM10) was sampled in Santiago Island and its chemical composition was evaluated by k 0-instrumental neutron activation analysis (k 0-INAA) and particle induced X-ray emission (PIXE). This study showed the existence of a seasonal intrusion of dust from Africa (that occurred from October to March) characterized by significant increases of PM10, mineral elements and anthropogenic particles concentrations. In 2011, the PM10 health-based air quality guidelines defined by WHO, EU and USEPA were exceeded. Cape Verde PM10 composition was characterized essentially by high concentrations of elements originating from the soil (Ca, Ce, Co, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Rb, S, Sc, Si, Sm, and Ti) and sea (Br, Cl, and Na); and low concentrations of anthropogenic elements (As, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Sb, V, and Zn). k 0-INAA and PIXE were fundamental tools for the determination of airborne chemical elements in Cape Verde. Their multi-elemental capabilities in association with low detection limits made it possible to determine the majority of the element concentrations of environmental interest. 相似文献
