The ultraviolet light component in the solar spectrum is known to cause several harmful effects, such as allergy, skin ageing, and skin cancer. Thus, current research attention has been paid to the design and fundamental understanding of sunscreen‐based materials. One of the most abundantly used sunscreen molecules is Avobenzone (AB), which exhibits two tautomers. Here, we highlight the preparation of spherically shaped nanoparticles from the sunscreen molecule AB as well as from sunscreen‐molecule‐encapsulated polymer nanoparticles in aqueous media and study their fundamental photophysical properties by steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. Steady‐state studies confirm that the AB molecule is in the keto and enol forms in tetrahydrofuran, whereas the enol form is stable in the case of both AB nanoparticles and AB‐encapsulated poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanoparticles. Thus, the keto–enol transformation of AB molecules is restricted to a nanoenvironment. An enhancement of photostability in both the nanoparticle and PMMA‐encapsulated forms under UV light irradiation is observed. The efficient excited energy transfer (60 %) from AB to porphyrin molecules opens up further prospects in potential applications as light‐harvesting systems. 相似文献

The high-frequency elastodynamic problem involving the excitation of an interface crack of finite width lying between two dissimilar anisotropic elastic half-planes has been analyzed. The crack surface is excited by a pair of time-harmonic antiplane line sources situated at the middle of the cracked surface. The problem has first been reduced to one with the interface crack lying between two dissimilar isotropic elastic half-planes by a transformation of relevant co-ordinates and parameters. The problem has then been formulated as an extended Wiener–Hopf equation (cf. Noble, 1958) and the asymptotic solution for high-frequency has been derived. The expression for the stress intensity factor at the crack tips has been derived and the numerical results for different pairs of materials have been presented graphically. 相似文献

Reaction of [Ru(trpy)Cl3] with quinolin-8-ol (HQ) yields [Ru(trpy)(Q)Cl]. Treatment of [Ru(trpy)(Q)Cl] with Ag+ in Me2CO–H2O (3:1) and MeCN gives [Ru(trpy)- (Q)(H2O)]+ and [Ru(trpy)(Q)(MeCN)]+, respectively, which were isolated as their perchlorate salts. A similar reaction in EtOH, in the presence of NaN3, yields [Ru(trpy)(Q)(N3)]. All complexes are diamagnetic (low-spin, d6, S = 0) and show many intense m.l.c.t. transitions in the visible region. They display a reversible RuII-RuIII oxidation in the -0.13-0.48 V versus s.c.e. range, followed by an irreversible RuIII-RuIV oxidation in the 0.46–1.08V versus s.c.e. range and three trpy-based reductions on the negative side of s.c.e. Chemical oxidation of [RuII(trpy)(Q)Cl] by Ce4+ gives [Ru(trpy)-(Q)Cl]+ which shows intense l.m.c.t. transitions in the visible region together with a weak ligand field transition in the lower energy region. The complex is one-electron paramagnetic (low-spin, d5, S=1/2) and shows a rhombic e.s.r. spectrum in MeCN–PhMe (1:1) solution at 77K. Chemical oxidation of [Ru(trpy)(Q)-(H2O)]+ results in the formation of a -oxo dimer, [{Ru(trpy)(Q)}2O]2+. 相似文献

Herein we report the use of a hue parameter of HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value) color space—in combination with chromaticity color coordinates—for exploring the complexation‐induced luminescence color changes, ranging from blue to green to yellow to white, from a non‐luminescent Fe‐doped ZnS quantum dot (QD). Importantly, the surface complexation reaction helped a presynthesized non‐luminescent Fe‐doped ZnS QD to glow with different luminescence colors (such as blue, cyan, green, greenish‐yellow, yellow) by virtue of the formation of various luminescent inorganic complexes (using different external organic ligands), while the simultaneous blue‐ and yellow‐emitting complex formation on the surface of non‐luminescent Fe‐doped ZnS QD led to the generation of white light emission, with a hue mean value of 85 and a chromaticity of (0.28,0.33). Furthermore, the surface complexation‐assisted incorporation of luminescence properties to a non‐luminescent QD not only overcomes their restricted luminescence‐based applications such as light‐emitting, biological and sensing applications but also bring newer avenues towards unravelling the surface chemistry between QDs and inorganic complexes and the advantage of having an inorganic complex with QD for their aforementioned useful applications. 相似文献

The endocrine disrupting compound Bisphenol and its analogues are widely used in food packaging products and can cause serious health hazards. The protein, Lysozyme (Lyz), showing anti-microbial properties, is used as a “natural” food and dairy preservative. Herein, we explored the interaction between Lyz and Bisphenol S (BPS) by multi-spectroscopic and theoretical approaches. Lyz interacts with BPS through static quenching, where hydrophobic force governed the underlying interaction. Molecular docking results reveal that tryptophan plays a vital role in binding, corroborated well with near UV-CD studies. A decrease in the radius of gyration (from 1.43 nm to 1.35 nm) of Lyz substantiates the compactness of the protein conformation owing to such an interaction. This structural alteration experienced by Lyz may alter its functional properties as a food preservative. Consequently, this can degrade the quality of the food products and thereby lead to severe health issues. 相似文献

A dipodal bis-urea receptor has been synthesized from the reaction of 8-amino quinoline and 1,4-phenylene diisocyanate in dichloromethane, and the anion binding ability of the receptor has been studied using fluoride, chloride, bromide, iodide, perchlorate, nitrate, dihydrogen phosphate and hydrogen sulfate by UV-Vis titrations in DMSO. The results show that the receptor binds each of the anions with a 1:1 stoichiometry, showing high affinity and moderate selectivity for hydrogen sulfate among the anions studied. Ab initio calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) suggest that an anion (X(-)) is bonded within the cleft formed by the two arms of the receptor through two NH...X(-) and two aromatic CH...X(-) interactions. The results from solution and theoretical studies suggest that binding is predominantly influenced by hydrogen bonding interactions and the basicity of anions. 相似文献

The present research deals with the development of a hybrid yeast strain with the aim of converting pentose and hexose sugar components of lignocellulosic substrate to bioethanol by fermentation. Different fusant strains were obtained by fusing protoplasts of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and xylose-fermenting yeasts such as Pachysolen tannophilus, Candida shehatae and Pichia stipitis. The fusants were sorted by fluorescent-activated cell sorter and further confirmed by molecular characterization. The fusants were evaluated by fermentation of glucose?Cxylose mixture and the highest ethanol producing fusant was used for further study to ferment hydrolysates produced by acid pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis of cotton gin waste. Among the various fusant and parental strains used under present study, RPR39 was found to be stable and most efficient strain giving maximum ethanol concentration (76.8?±?0.31?g L?1), ethanol productivity (1.06?g L?1 h?1) and ethanol yield (0.458?g g?1) by fermentation of glucose?Cxylose mixture under test conditions. The fusant has also shown encouraging result in fermenting hydrolysates of cotton gin waste with ethanol concentration of 7.08?±?0.142?g L?1, ethanol yield of 0.44?g g?1, productivity of 0.45?g L?1?h?1 and biomass yield of 0.40?g g?1. 相似文献

Ab initio based configuration interaction calculations have been carried out to study the low-lying electronic states and spectroscopic properties of the heaviest nonradioactive silicon chalcogenide molecule and its monopositive ion. Spectroscopic constants and potential energy curves of states of both SiTe and SiTe+ within 5 eV are reported. The calculated dissociation energies of SiTe and SiTe+ are 4.41 and 3.52 eV, respectively. Effects of the spin-orbit coupling on the electronic spectrum of both the species are studied in detail. The spin-orbit splitting between the two components of the ground state of SiTe+ is estimated to be 1880 cm(-1). Transitions such as 0+ (II)-X1Sigma(+)0+, 0+ (III)-X1Sigma(+)0+, E1Sigma(+)0+ -X1Sigma(+)0+, and A1Pi1-X1Sigma(+)0+ are predicted to be strong in SiTe. The radiative lifetime of the A1Pi state is less than a microsecond. The X(2)2Pi(1/2)-X(1)2Pi(3/2) transition in SiTe+ is allowed due to spin-orbit mixing. However, it is weak in intensity with a partial lifetime for the X2 state of about 108 ms. The electric dipole moments of both SiTe and SiTe+ in their low-lying states are calculated. The vertical ionization energies for the ionization of the ground-state SiTe to different ionic states are also reported. 相似文献

Electronic structure and spectroscopic properties of the low-lying electronic states of the SiC radical have been determined from the ab initio based configuration interaction calculations. Potential energy curves of 32 Λ-S states of singlet, triplet, and quintet spin multiplicities have been constructed. Spectroscopic constants (re, Te, and ωe) of 23 states within 6 eV are reported and compared with the existing data. The dipole moments (μe) of most of these states at their respective equilibrium bond lengths have been computed. Effects of the spin-orbit coupling on the spectroscopic properties of SiC have been studied. The E3Π state is found to be an important one which has not been studied before. A transition of the type E3Π-X3Π is predicted to take place in the range 25 000-26 000 cm−1. The partial radiative lifetimes for several electric dipole allowed transitions such as A3Σ+-X3Π, B3Σ+-X3Π, C3Π-X3Π, D3Δ-X3Π, E3Π-X3Π etc. have been reported. 相似文献
