In-beam conversion electron spectroscopy experiments have been performed on the transfermium nuclei 253, 254No using the conversion electron spectrometer SACRED in nearly collinear geometry in conjunction with the gas-filled separator
RITU at the University of Jyv?skyl?. The experimental setup is discussed and the spectra are compared to Monte Carlo simulations.
The implications for the ground-state configuration of 253No are discussed.

The generation of harmonics of the voltage response is considered when an AC current is applied through a superconducting
film above Tc. It is shown that almost at all temperatures the mechanism of the temperature oscillations created by the AC current and
the temperature dependence of the resistance dominates over the isothermal nonlinear electric conductivity. Only in a narrow
critical region close to Tc the latter is essential for the generation of the harmonics. A detailed investigation of harmonics generation provides an
accurate method for measuring the thermal boundary conductance between the film and the insulating substrate. The critical
behaviour of the third harmonic will give a new method for the determination of the lifetime of metastable Cooper pairs above
Tc. The comparison of the calculated fifth harmonics of the voltage with the experiment is proposed as an important test for
the applicability of the employed theoretical models.

The vibronic spectra of laser desorbed and jet cooled guanine (G) adenine (A), and cytosine (C) consist of bands from four,
two and two major tautomers respectively, as revealed by UV-UV and IR-UV double resonance spectroscopy. The vibronic spectrum
of adenine around 277 nm consists of weak nπ* and strong ππ* transitions, based on IR-UV and deuteration experiments. Precise ionization potentials of G and A were determined with 2-color,
2-photon ionization. We also measured vibronic and IR spectra of several base pairs. GC exhibits a HNH ... OH/NH ... N/C=O ... HNH bonding similar to the Watson-Crick GC base pair but with C as enol tautomer. One GG isomer exhibits non-symmetric hydrogen
bonding with HNH ... N/NH ... N/C=O ... HNH interactions. A second observed GG isomer has a symmetrical hydrogen bond arrangement with C=O ... NH/NH ... O=C bonding. Two CC isomers were observed with symmetrical C=O ... NH/NH ... O=C bonding and nonsymmetrical C=O ... HNH/NH ... N interaction, respectively. Guanosine (Gs), 2-DeoxyGs und 3-DeoxyGs each exhibit only one isomer in the investigated wavelength
range around 290 nm with a strong intramolecular sugar(5-OH) ... enolguanine(3-N) hydrogen bond.

Two-photon photoassociation spectra in a Λ-type excitation scheme are analysed under the systematically varied experimental conditions of frequency detunings and laser
intensities. Line shape fits are presented as well as the investigation of intensity and detuning dependent line shifts. From
both we determine the attained spectroscopic precision, that is corrected for a systematic line shift due to the thermal distribution
of atoms in the trap. An energy correction for this effect is given. Information about the feasibility of generating translationally
cold molecules in a well defined rotational and vibrational level by the photoassociation process is derived from the analysis.

The finite element solutions of the full Navier-Stokes and energy equations for steady laminar flow and combined convection around square prisms with attack angles of 0° and 45° are obtained for a gas having Pr=0.7. The variations of surface shear stress, local pressure and Nusselt number are obtained over the entire prism surface including the zone beyond the point of the separation. The predicted values of drag coefficients, the location of separation, average Nusselt number and the plots of velocity flow fields and isotherms are also presented. The trend of the present numerical results seems reasonable.

Zusammenfassung Es wird über Lösungen der Navier-Stokesund der Energiegleichungen mit Hilfe der Finite-Elemente-Methode für stationäre laminare Strömung, kombiniert mit Naturkonvektion, um ein quadratisches Prisma berichtet, wobei als Anströmwinkel 0° und 45° gewählt wurden und Gasströmung mitPr=0,7 angenommen wurde. Die Rechnung ergibt den Verlauf der Wandschubspannungen, des örtlichen Druckes und der Nusselt-Zahl über die gesamte Oberfläche des Prismas, einschließlich des Bereiches hinter dem Ablösepunkt. Weiterhin werden in dem Aufsatz Angaben gemacht über die Widerstandskoeffizienten, die Lage des Ablösepunktes, der mittleren Nusselt-Zahl sowie der Geschwindigkeits- und Temperaturfelder. Die numerischen Ergebnisse erscheinen im Trend vernünftig zu sein.

We test the operator form of the Fourier transform of the Argonne V18 potential by computing selected scattering observables and all Wolfenstein parameters for a variety of energies. These are compared to the GW-DAC database and to partial wave calculations. We represent the interaction and transition operators as expansions in a spin-momentum basis. In this representation the Lippmann–Schwinger equation becomes a six channel integral equation in two variables. Our calculations use different numbers of spin-momentum basis elements to represent the on- and off-shell transition operators. This is because different numbers of independent spin-momentum basis elements are required to expand the on- and off-shell transition operators. The choice of on and off-shell spin-momentum basis elements is made so that the coefficients of the on-shell spin-momentum basis vectors are simply related to the corresponding off-shell coefficients. 相似文献

The recent development at the Paul Scherrer Institute of a beam of low energy muons allows depth dependent muon spin rotation and relaxation investigations in thin samples, multilayers and near surface regions (low energy SR, LE-SR). After a brief overview of the LE-SR method, some representative experiments performed with this technique will be presented. The first direct determination of the field profile just below the surface of a high-temperature superconductor in the Meissner phase illustrates the power and sensitivity of low energy muons as near-surface probe and is an example of general application to depth profiling of magnetic fields. The evolution of the flux line lattice distribution across the surface of a YBa2Cu3O7 film in the vortex phase has been investigated by implanting muons on both sides of a normal-superconducting boundary. A determination of the relaxation time and energy barrier to thermal activation in iron nanoclusters, embedded in a silver thin film matrix (500nm), demonstrates the use of slow muons to measure the properties of samples that cannot be made thick enough for the use of conventional SR. Other experiments investigated the magnetic properties of thin Cr(001) layers at thicknesses above and below the collapse of the spin density wave. 相似文献
