The data on the charge-exchange reaction K+Xe → K0pXe′, obtained with the bubble chamber DIANA, are reanalyzed using increased statistics and updated selections. Our previous evidence for formation of a narrow pK0 resonance with mass near 1538 MeV is confirmed. The statistical significance of the signal reaches some 8 (6) standard deviations when estimated as $ {S \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {S {\sqrt B \left( {{S \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {S {\sqrt {B + S} }}} \right. \kern-0em} {\sqrt {B + S} }}} \right)}}} \right. \kern-0em} {\sqrt B \left( {{S \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {S {\sqrt {B + S} }}} \right. \kern-0em} {\sqrt {B + S} }}} \right)}} $. The mass and intrinsic width of the Θ+ baryon are measured as m = 1538 ± 2 MeV and Γ = 0.39 ± 0.10 MeV. 相似文献
Self-assembly of copper(l) ions, phenylmalonate and pyrimidine yields the layered compound [Cu(pym)(Phmal)n (1) where intralayer ferro- and interlayer antiferromagnetic interactions occur with three-dimensional antiferromagnetic ordering at T(c) = 2.15 K. 相似文献
In this paper we describe an experimental test of the validity of the Pauli Exclusion Principle (for electrons) which is based on a straightforward idea put forward a few years ago by Ramberg and Snow (Phys. Lett. B 238:438, 1990). We perform a very accurate search of X-rays from the Pauli-forbidden atomic transitions of electrons in the already filled 1S shells of copper atoms. Although the experiment has a very simple structure, it poses deep conceptual and interpretational problems. Here we describe the experimental method and recent experimental results, which we interpret in the framework of quon theory. We also present future plans to upgrade the experimental apparatus using Silicon Drift Detectors. 相似文献
Escherichia coli's copper efflux oxidase (CueO) has rarely been employed in the cathodic compartment of enzymatic biofuel cells (EBFCs) due to its low redox potential (0.36 V vs. Ag/AgCl, pH 5.5) towards O2 reduction. Herein, directed evolution of CueO towards a more positive onset potential was performed in an electrochemical screening system. An improved CueO variant (D439T/L502K) was obtained with a significantly increased onset potential (0.54 V), comparable to that of high‐redox‐potential fungal laccases. Upon coupling with an anodic compartment, the EBFC exhibited an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.56 V. Directed enzyme evolution by tailoring enzymes to application conditions in EBFCs has been validated and might, in combination with molecular understanding, enable future breakthroughs in EBFC performance 相似文献

Starch is one of the main carbohydrates in food; it is formed by two polysaccharides: amylose and amylopectin. The granule size of starch varies with different botanical origins and ranges from less than 1 μm to more than 100 μm. Some physicochemical and functional properties vary with the size of the granule, which makes it of great interest to find an efficient and accurate size-based separation method. In this study, the full-feed depletion mode of split-flow thin cell fractionation (FFD-SF) was employed for a size-based fractionation of two types of starch granules (corn and potato) on a large scale. The fractionation efficiency (FE) of fraction-a for corn and potato granules was 98.4 and 99.4%, respectively. The FFD-SF fractions were analyzed using optical microscopy (OM) and gravitational field-flow fractionation (GrFFF). The respective size distribution results were in close agreement for the corn starch fractions, while they were slightly different for the potato starch fractions. The thermal properties of FFD-SF fractions were analyzed, and the results for the potato starch showed that the peak temperature of gelatinization (Tp) slightly decreases as the size of the granules increases. Additionally, the enthalpy of gelatinization (ΔH) increases when the granule size increases and shows negative correlation with the gelatinization range (ΔT).
The DEAR experiment performed at the DAΦNE electron-positron collider (Frascati, Italy) studied the strong interaction shift and width of the 1s state in kaonic hydrogen using X-ray spectroscopy. The repulsive character of the kaon-proton interaction at threshold was confirmed and the most precise values of the shift and width were obtained. However, high precision data at the percent level are highly requested to further develop the theories and thus our understanding of the low-energy antikaon-nucleon interaction. Therefore, a new series of precision experiments on kaonic hydrogen and kaonic deuterium are planned at LNF. 相似文献
This paper describes the results of a 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy study of a palindromic 8-base pair PNA duplex GGCATGCC in H2O and H2O-D2O solutions. The (1)H NMR peaks have been assigned for most of the protons of the six central base pairs, as well as for several amide protons of the backbone. The resulting 36 interbase and base-backbone distance restraints were used together with Watson-Crick restraints to generate the PNA duplex structure in the course of 10 independent simulated annealing runs followed by restrained molecular dynamics (MD) simulations in explicit water. The resulting PNA structures correspond to a P-type helix with helical parameters close to those observed in the crystal structures of PNA. Based on the current limited number of restraints obtained from NMR spectra, alternative structures obtained by MD from starting PNA models based on DNA cannot be ruled out and are also discussed. 相似文献
Stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) is an extraction technique for enrichment of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds from aqueous and gaseous media. After exposure to a sample, the stir bar, which is covered in a layer of a polysiloxane is subsequently removed and the sorbed compounds are then either thermally desorbed, and analysed by GC-MS or desorbed by means of a liquid, for improved selectivity or for interfacing to an LC system. The technique has been applied successfully to trace analysis in environmental, biomedical and food applications. Applications of SBSE to environmental, foodstuffs and pharmaceutical and biomedical samples are given.
