An interaction equation of the capillary-gravity wave is considered. We show that the Cauchy problem of the coupled Schrödinger-KdV equation,

This paper is intended to clarify a misunderstanding concerningthe source singularity of the electric Green's tensor for aperfectly conducting semi-infinite cone of circular cross-section.Tai's series expansion of the Green's tensor is known to lacka singular term at the source region. Jones has reconstructedthe solution to this problem and has pointed out the differencebetween his result and that of Tai. The aim of our paper isto demonstrate that, although Jones's closed-form solution iscorrect, there is a mistake in his comparison with Tai's seriessolution. We conclude that one of the two additional singularterms that Jones claims as missing from Tai's formula must beomitted. Besides, we compare Jones's closed-form solution withSmyshlyaev's solution to the very same problem. The reactivity of ethyl‐, propyl‐ and octylgallate towards diphenylpicryl hydracil radicals has been measured in homogeneous solution (ethanol) and in Triton X‐100 micellar solutions. Similar reactivities were measured in homogeneous solutions, indicating that the length of the alkyl chain does not influence the reactivity of the phenolic groups. On the other hand, different reactivities were measured in micellar solutions, particularly at low (5 mM) surfactant concentrations. Data obtained at different surfactant concentrations allow estimation of partitioning of the gallates and their intramicellar bimolecular rate constant. The values obtained indicate that all the observed differences in reactivity are attributable to differences in substrate partitioning between the micellar and aqueous pseudophases. In fact, similar values of the intramicellar rate constants were obtained, suggesting that the average location of the reactive groups inside the micelles is independent of the solute alkyl chain length. The possibility of finite-time, dispersive blow-up for nonlinear equations of Schrödinger type is revisited. This mathematical phenomena is one of the conceivable explanations for oceanic and optical rogue waves. In dimension one, the fact that dispersive blow up does occur for nonlinear Schrödinger equations already appears in [9]. In the present work, the existing results are extended in several ways. In one direction, the theory is broadened to include the Davey–Stewartson and Gross–Pitaevskii equations. In another, dispersive blow up is shown to obtain for nonlinear Schrödinger equations in spatial dimensions larger than one and for more general power-law nonlinearities. As a by-product of our analysis, a sharp global smoothing estimate for the integral term appearing in Duhamel's formula is obtained. 相似文献

We analyze U(1)H as a horizontal symmetry and its possibilities to explain the known elementary-fermion masses. We find that only two candidates, in the context of SU(3)c ? SU(2)L ? U(1)Y ? U(1)H nonsuper-symmetric, are able to fit the experimental result mb«mt. identity, but it is a common prejudice to assume that the appropriate family symmetry may explain this fact as a consequence of (i) and (ii). In what follows we will enlarge the SM gauge group with an extra U(1)H horizontal local gauge symmetry (the simplest multi-family continuous symmetry we can think of). We then show that the structure SU(3)c ? SU(2)L ? U(1)Y ? U(1)H by itself is able to explain (ii), and that the simplest supersymmetric (SUSY) extension of this model without a μ-term can not cope with (ii). 相似文献
