Nitrogen and boron BF2, and nitrogen, carbon, and boron BF2 high-dose (6×1016–3×1017 cm-2) co-implantation were performed at energies of about 21–77 keV. Subsequent high-temperature annealing processes (600, 850, and 1200 °C) lead to the formation of three and two surface layers respectively. The outer layer mainly consists of polycrystalline silicon and some amorphous material and Si3N4 inclusions. The inner layer is highly defective crystalline silicon, with some inclusions of Si3N4 too. In the N+B-implanted sample the intermediate layer is amorphous. Co-implantation of boron with nitrogen and with nitrogen and carbon prevents the excessive diffusivity of B and leads to a lattice-parameter reduction of 0.7–1.0%. In classical Kaluza-Klein theory, with compactified extra dimensions and without scalar field, the rest mass as well as the electric charge of test particles are constants of motion. We show that in the case of a large extra dimension this is no longer so. We propose the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism, instead of the geodesic equation, for the study of test particles moving in a five-dimensional background metric. This formalism has a number of advantages: (i) it provides a clear and invariant definition of rest mass, without the ambiguities associated with the choice of the parameters used along the motion in 5D and 4D, (ii) the electromagnetic field can be easily incorporated in the discussion, and (iii) we avoid the difficulties associated with the splitting of the geodesic equation. For particles moving in a general 5D metric, we show how the effective rest mass, as measured by an observer in 4D, varies as a consequence of the large extra dimension. Also, the fifth component of the momentum changes along the motion. This component can be identified with the electric charge of test particles. With this interpretation, both the rest mass and the charge vary along the trajectory. The constant of motion is now a combination of these quantities. We study the cosmological variations of charge and rest mass in a five-dimensional bulk metric which is used to embed the standard k = 0 FRW universes. The time variations in the fine structure constant and the Thomson cross section are also discussed.  相似文献

The effects of hydrostatic pressures on the electronic, thermoacoustic and elastic anisotropies of SnO2 in the rutile structure is analyzed up to 18 GPa. It is found that the polycrystalline bulk modulus B increases from 227 to 312 GPa between 0 and 18 GPa while the Young and shear moduli slightly decrease with pressures. The resulting polycrystalline ductility increases with pressures. The speed of the sound for longitudinal waves increases with pressure, while the transverse polarizations and the Debye temperature decrease. Large crystal anisotropy for the shear planes {001} between ? 110? and ? 010? directions under pressures, associated with the phase transition to the Cl2Ca, is found.  相似文献

A phenomenological analysis of the three-family model based on the local gauge group with right-handed neutrinos is carried out. Instead of using the minimal scalar sector able to break the symmetry in a proper way, we introduce an alternative set of four Higgs scalar triplets, which combined with an anomaly-free discrete symmetry, produces a quark mass spectrum without hierarchies in the Yukawa coupling constants. We also embed the structure into a simple gauge group and show some conditions for achieving a low energy gauge coupling unification, avoiding possible conflict with proton decay bounds. By using experimental results from the CERN-LEP, SLAC linear collider, and atomic parity violation data, we update constraints on several parameters of the model. Some techniques to show the existence and uniqueness of limit cycles, typically stated for smooth vector fields, are extended to continuous piecewise-linear differential systems.New results are obtained for systems with three linearity zones without symmetry and having one equilibrium point in the central region. We also revisit the case of systems with only two linear zones giving shorter proofs of known results.A relevant application to the McKean piecewise linear model of a single neuron activity is included.  相似文献

We present some properties of the distributions T of the form ∑ipi−δni), with ∑i d(pi,ni)<∞, which arise in the study of the 3-d Ginzburg–Landau problem; see Bourgain et al. (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 331 (2000) 119–124). We show that there always exists an irreducible representation of T. We also extend a result of Smets (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 334 (2002) 371–374) which says that T is a measure iff T can be written as a finite sum of dipoles.  相似文献

Auslender, Cominetti and Haddou have studied, in the convex case, a new family of penalty/barrier functions. In this paper, we analyze the asymptotic behavior of augmented penalty algorithms using those penalty functions under the usual second order sufficient optimality conditions, and present order of convergence results (superlinear convergence with order of convergence 4/3). Those results are related to the analysis of pure penalty algorithms, as well as augmented penalty using a quadratic penalty function. Limited numerical examples are presented to appreciate the practical impact of this local asymptotic analysis.This research was partially supported by NSERC grant OGP0005491  相似文献

We introduce the set of bicomplex numbers which is a commutative ring with zero divisors defined by where We present the conjugates and the moduli associated with the bicomplex numbers. Then we study the bicomplex Schr?dinger equation and found the continuity equations. The discrete symmetries of the system of equations describing the bicomplex Schr?dinger equation are obtained. Finally, we study the bicomplex Born formulas under the discrete symmetries. We obtain the standard Born’s formula for the class of bicomplex wave functions having a null hyperbolic angle.  相似文献

In this paper we review a number of auxiliary space based preconditioners for the second order definite and semi-definite Maxwell problems discretized with the lowest order Nedelec finite elements. We discuss the parallel implementation of the most promising of these methods, the ones derived from the recent Hiptmair-Xu (HX) auxiliary space decomposition [Hiptmair and Xu, SIAM J. Numer. Anal., 45 (2007), pp. 2483-2509]. An extensive set of numerical experiments demonstrate the scalability of our implementation on large-scale H(curl) problems.  相似文献
