A survey is presented of some of the recent uses of Mössbauer spectroscopy in studying chemical changes in mineral systems. The changes considered include those occurring naturally, such as weathering, leaching, soil formation, lake and river sedimentation and coal oxidation, and some induced by man, such as chemical leaching, precipitate ageing, coal hydroliquefaction and ash resulting from coal combustion. 相似文献

Previous research (Emmerich et al., 1983) in which tones were presented in the center of the notches in band-reject noise backgrounds suggests that information from frequency regions remote from the nominal signal frequency is useful in frequency discrimination. The present work extends the earlier findings by presenting tones on either side of a notch so that only one (or the other) tail of the excitation patterns of the tones would fall into the notch. In addition, tones were presented in high-pass noise, low-pass noise, and various combinations of the two. The results again indicate that remote information affects frequency discrimination, and they are also consistent with the hypothesis that the low-frequency tail of the excitation pattern is more useful for frequency discrimination than is the high-frequency tail. 相似文献

In a experiment at the CERN SPS charged hyperon beam using incident Ξ?, we have obtained evidence for the production of two Ω* resonances decaying into Ξ?π+ K ?, with the following parameters:M 1=2251±12,Γ 1=48±20 MeV/c2, 78 ±23 events, andM 2=2284±12,Γ 2=26±23 MeV/c2 45±10 events. The first state is also observed as a 4.2σ effect in a subsample which contains an additionalK + orK 0 in the final state. Production cross sections and branching ratios to Ξ* K ? and Ξ?
