Leucine aminopeptidase activity was measured using l-[U-14C]leucinamide as substrate. The leucine freed by hydrolysis was separated by high voltage electrophoresis and estimated in a scintillation counter. The method was especially useful for studying the production of LAP during the molting of infective juveniles of the nematodes, H. contortus, because activity could be measured without purifying or concentrating the enzyme.  相似文献

The effects of librational anharmonicity in solid α-N2 are studied. Anharmonic frequencies are obtained using a boson representation for torsional motion. Two-libron and (one stretch + one libron) processes observed via Raman spectroscopy are discussed. Cubic libron-phonon interactions are shown to account for anomalies in the widths of the optical phonons as observed in infrared absorption.  相似文献

We report resistance and magnetic torque experiments under a high magnetic field up to 45 T in a three dimensional quantum Hall (QH) system (TMTSF)(2)ClO(4), where TMTSF = tetramethyltetraselenafulvalene. The Hall resistance shows huge oscillations accompanied with sign reversal after the final QH state, where the Landau level filling factor is unity, is removed above 26 T. The magnetic torque also oscillates with the field. The results suggest that a novel quantum state, where the character of the carriers periodically changes with the field, is stabilized in the extreme quantum limit.  相似文献

Two-proton correlations at small relative momentum q were studied in the eA(3He,4He,C,Fe)-->e(')ppX reaction at E(0)=4.46 GeV using the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab. The enhancement of the correlation function at small q was found to be in accordance with theoretical expectations. Sizes of the emission region were extracted, and proved to be dependent on A and on the proton momentum. The size of the two-proton emission region for He was measured in eA reactions for the first time.  相似文献

Event-by-event fluctuations of the average transverse momentum of produced particles near midrapidity have been measured by the PHENIX Collaboration in square root of (sNN)=200 GeV Au+Au, and p+p collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The fluctuations are observed to be in excess of the expectation for statistically independent particle emission for all centralities. The excess fluctuations exhibit a dependence on both the centrality of the collision and on the pT range over which the average is calculated. Both the centrality and pT dependence can be well reproduced by a simulation of random particle production with the addition of contributions from hard-scattering processes.  相似文献

Double-polarization asymmetries for inclusive ep scattering were measured at Jefferson Lab using 2.6 and 4.3 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons incident on a longitudinally polarized NH3 target in the CLAS detector. The polarized structure function g(1)(x,Q2) was extracted throughout the nucleon resonance region and into the deep inelastic regime, for Q(2)=0.15-1.64 GeV2. The contributions to the first moment Gamma(1)(Q2)= integral g(1)(x,Q2) dx were determined up to Q(2)=1.2 GeV2. Using a parametrization for g(1) in the unmeasured low x regions, the complete first moment was estimated over this Q2 region. A rapid change in Gamma(1) is observed for Q2<1 GeV2, with a sign change near Q(2)=0.3 GeV2, indicating dominant contributions from the resonance region. At Q(2)=1.2 GeV2 our data are below the perturbative QCD evolved scaling value.  相似文献
