Vanadium(V) complexes of the tridentate bis(phenolate)pyridine ligand H(2)BPP (H(2)BPP = 2,6-(HOC(6)H(2)-2,4-(t)Bu(2))(2)NC(5)H(3)) and the bis(phenolate)amine ligand H(2)BPA (H(2)BPA = N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-4,5-dimethylbenzyl)propylamine) have been synthesized and characterized. The ability of the complexes to mediate the oxidative C-C bond cleavage of pinacol was tested. Reaction of the complex (BPP)V(V)(O)(O(i)Pr) (4) with pinacol afforded the monomeric vanadium(IV) product (BPP)V(IV)(O)(HO(i)Pr) (6) and acetone. Vanadium(IV) complex 6 was oxidized rapidly by air at room temperature in the presence of NEt(3), yielding the vanadium(V) cis-dioxo complex [(BPP)V(V)(O)(2)]HNEt(3). Complex (BPA)V(V)(O)(O(i)Pr) (5) reacted with pinacol at room temperature, to afford acetone and the vanadium(IV) dimer [(BPA)V(IV)(O)(HO(i)Pr)](2). Complexes 4 and 5 were evaluated as catalysts for the aerobic oxidation of 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol and arylglycerol β-aryl ether lignin model compounds. Although both 4 and 5 catalyzed the aerobic oxidation of 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol, complex 4 was found to be a more active and robust catalyst for oxidation of the lignin model compounds. Amidrazone 1a and the tricarbonyl derivatives 2b-d reacted in boiling ethanol in the presence of 2,5-norbornadiene 5 giving the pyridine derivatives 6b-d respectively (59-72%) and in the presence of 2,3-dihydrofuran 7 yielding the lactones 10b-d (39-44%). The 2,2′-bipyridine derivatives 6e-g were similarly obtained in good yield (81-87%) from the reaction of amidrazone 1b and tricarbonyl derivatives 2b-d in the presence of 2,5-norbornadiene 5. 相似文献

The cyclization reactions of a phenanthreno-fused azo-ene-yne compound have been studied both experimentally and computationally. Experimental results show that this system is prone to dimerization, more so than previously studied naphthalene- and benzene-based analogues. Calculations reveal that pyrazoles and arene-fused pyrazoles strongly stabilize carbenes in the 5-position through "coarctate conjugation", suggesting a stationary concentration of the carbenes/carbenoids during cyclization that is high enough for dimerization. 相似文献

Halogen atoms are important reactive radicals in the atmosphere. In this work, pulsed jet discharge matrix isolation spectroscopy and computational methods were used to characterize prereactive complexes of halogen atoms with simple halons. Our experiments combined matrix isolation techniques with a pulsed DC discharge nozzle, where a dilute CH(2)XBr (X = H, Cl, Br)/rare gas sample was gently discharged and the products were deposited onto a cold KBr window. The Br···BrCH(2)X (X = H, Cl, Br) complexes were characterized by infrared and electronic spectroscopy, supported by ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, which shed light on the structure of, bonding in, and binding energy of the complexes. The correlation of charge-transfer energy with donor ionization potential (Mulliken correlation) was examined, and the charge-transfer photochemistry of the complexes was explored. 相似文献

Isobaric tagging reagents such as isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) and tandem mass tag (TMT) typically have isotopic impurities that cause significant cross‐talk between channels. Here, we present an efficient solution to compensate for channel cross‐talk using linear algebra and find that it is between 20× and 120× faster than previous methods. We also find that the effects of channel cross‐talk are as important to manage as the effects of ratio compression because of precursor impurities, and we have released an open‐source tool to perform both types of calculations. 相似文献

The successful application of dihydropyrido[1,2‐a]indolone (DHPI) substrates in Pd‐catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation chemistry facilitates rapid access to multiple alkaloid frameworks in an enantioselective fashion. Strategic bromination at the indole C3 position greatly improved the allylic alkylation chemistry and enabled a highly efficient Negishi cross‐coupling downstream. The first catalytic enantioselective total synthesis of (?)‐goniomitine, along with divergent formal syntheses of (+)‐aspidospermidine and (?)‐quebrachamine, are reported herein. 相似文献

The time scale for ordering of the polypeptide backbone relative to the side chains is a critical issue in protein folding. The interplay between ordering of the backbone and ordering of the side chains is particularly important for the formation of β-sheet structures, as the polypeptide chain searches for the native stabilizing cross-strand interactions. We have studied these issues in the N-terminal domain of protein L9 (NTL9), a model protein with mixed α/β structure. We have developed a general approach for introducing site-specific IR probes for the side chains (azide) and backbone ((13)C═(18)O) using recombinant protein expression. Temperature-jump time-resolved IR spectroscopy combined with site-specific labeling enables independent measurement of the respective backbone and side-chain dynamics with single residue resolution. We have found that side-chain ordering in a key region of the β-sheet structure occurs on a slower time scale than ordering of the backbone during the folding of NTL9, likely as a result of the transient formation of non-native side-chain interactions. 相似文献

The results of (low energy) photoelectron spectroscopy render possible a better appreciation of the “Nature of the Chemical Bond”. The application of this new experimental method is demonstrated utilizing representative compounds of the nonmetal elements, and a close symbiosis delineated with molecular orbital models. In particular, general consequences are discussed concerning electron deficiency, σ- and π-interactions, electron pair delocalization, and substituent effects or geometric perturbations. Photoelectron spectroscopic ionization energies permit evaluation of parameters for specified molecular groups, allow correlation with numerous other experimental data, and are didactically valuable in the teaching of general chemistry. 相似文献

In this work, the differences in catalytic performance for a series of Co hydrogen evolution catalysts with different pentadentate polypyridyl ligands (L), have been rationalized by examining elementary steps of the catalytic cycle using a combination of electrochemical and transient pulse radiolysis (PR) studies in aqueous solution. Solvolysis of the [CoII−Cl]+ species results in the formation of [CoII(κ4-L)(OH2)]2+. Further reduction produces [CoI(κ4-L)(OH2)]+, which undergoes a rate-limiting structural rearrangement to [CoI(κ5-L)]+ before being protonated to form [CoIII−H]2+. The rate of [CoIII−H]2+ formation is similar for all complexes in the series. Using E1/2 values of various Co species and pKa values of [CoIII−H]2+ estimated from PR experiments, we found that while the protonation of [CoIII−H]2+ is unfavorable, [CoII−H]+ reacts with protons to produce H2. The catalytic activity for H2 evolution tracks the hydricity of the [CoII−H]+ intermediate. 相似文献
