The complexes [{(tmpa)CoII}2(μ‐L1)2?]2+ ( 12+ ) and [{(tmpa)CoII}2(μ‐L2)2?]2+ ( 22+ ), with tmpa=tris(2‐pyridylmethyl)amine, H2L1=2,5‐di‐[2‐(methoxy)‐anilino]‐1,4‐benzoquinone, and H2L2=2,5‐di‐[2‐(trifluoromethyl)‐anilino]‐1,4‐benzoquinone, were synthesized and characterized. Structural analysis of 22+ revealed a distorted octahedral coordination around the cobalt centers, and cobalt–ligand bond lengths that match with high‐spin CoII centers. Superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometric studies on 12+ and 22+ are consistent with the presence of two weakly exchange‐coupled high‐spin cobalt(II) ions, for which the nature of the coupling appears to depend on the substituents on the bridging ligand, being antiferromagnetic for 12+ and ferromagnetic for 22+ . Both complexes exhibit several one‐electron redox steps, and these were investigated with cyclic voltammetry and UV/Vis/near‐IR spectroelectrochemistry. For 12+ , it was possible to chemically isolate the pure forms of both the one‐electron oxidized mixed‐valent 13+ and the two‐electron oxidized isovalent 14+ forms, and characterize them structurally as well as magnetically. This series thus provided an opportunity to investigate the effect of reversible electron transfers on the total spin‐state of the molecule. In contrast to 22+ , for 14+ the metal–ligand distances and the distances within the quinonoid ligand point to the existence of two low‐spin CoIII centers, thus showing the innocence of the quintessential non‐innocent ligands L. Magnetic data corroborate these observations by showing the decrease of the magnetic moment by roughly half (neglecting spin exchange effects) on oxidizing the molecules with one electron, and the disappearance of a paramagnetic response upon two‐electron oxidation, which confirms the change in spin state associated with the electron‐transfer steps.  相似文献

A silicon field‐effect transistor is operated as a logic circuit by electrically addressing the ground and excited electronic states of an embedded single dopant atom. Experimental results—complemented by analytical and computational calculations—are presented. First, we show how a complete set of binary logic gates can be realized on the same hardware. Then, we show that these gates can be operated in parallel on the very same dopant up to the logic level of a full adder. To use the device not as a switch but as a full logic circuit, we make essential use of the excited electronic states of the dopant and of the ability to shift their energy by gating. The experimental ability to use two channels to measure the current flowing through the device and the conductance (dI/dV) allows for a robust reading of the output of the logic operations.  相似文献

We present the access to [5‐19F, 5‐13C]‐uridine and ‐cytidine phosphoramidites for the production of site‐specifically modified RNAs up to 65 nucleotides (nts). The amidites were used to introduce [5‐19F, 5‐13C]‐pyrimidine labels into five RNAs—the 30 nt human immunodeficiency virus trans activation response (HIV TAR) 2 RNA, the 61 nt human hepatitis B virus ? (hHBV ?) RNA, the 49 nt SAM VI riboswitch aptamer domain from B. angulatum, the 29 nt apical stem loop of the pre‐microRNA (miRNA) 21 and the 59 nt full length pre‐miRNA 21. The main stimulus to introduce the aromatic 19F–13C‐spin topology into RNA comes from a work of Boeszoermenyi et al., in which the dipole‐dipole interaction and the chemical shift anisotropy relaxation mechanisms cancel each other leading to advantageous TROSY properties shown for aromatic protein sidechains. This aromatic 13C–19F labeling scheme is now transferred to RNA. We provide a protocol for the resonance assignment by solid phase synthesis based on diluted [5‐19F, 5‐13C]/[5‐19F] pyrimidine labeling. For the 61 nt hHBV ? we find a beneficial 19F–13C TROSY enhancement, which should be even more pronounced in larger RNAs and will facilitate the NMR studies of larger RNAs. The [19F, 13C]‐labeling of the SAM VI aptamer domain and the pre‐miRNA 21 further opens the possibility to use the biorthogonal stable isotope reporter nuclei in in vivo NMR to observe ligand binding and microRNA processing in a biological relevant setting.  相似文献

A novel photoresponsive and fully conjugated N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) has been synthesized that combines the excellent photophysical properties of arylazopyrazoles (AAPs) with an NHC that acts as a robust surface anchor (AAP‐BIMe). The formation of self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold was proven by ToF‐SIMS and XPS, and the organic film displayed a very high stability at elevated temperatures. This stability was also reflected in a high desorption energy, which was determined by temperature‐programmed SIMS measurements. E‐/Z‐AAP‐BIMe@Au photoisomerization resulted in reversible alterations of the surface energy (i.e. wettability), the surface potential (i.e. work function), and the conductance (i.e. resistance). The effects could be explained by the difference in the dipole moment of the isomers. Furthermore, sequential application of a dummy ligand by microcontact printing and subsequent backfilling with AAP‐BIMe allowed its patterning on gold. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of a photoswitchable NHC on a gold surface. These properties of AAP‐BIMe@Au illustrate its suitability as a molecular switch for electronic devices.  相似文献

Asymmetric hydrogenation has evolved as one of the most powerful tools to construct stereocenters. However, the asymmetric hydrogenation of unfunctionalized tetrasubstituted acyclic olefins remains the pinnacle of asymmetric synthesis and an unsolved challenge. We report herein the discovery of an iridium catalyst for the first, generally applicable, highly enantio‐ and diastereoselective hydrogenation of such olefins and the mechanistic insights of the reaction. The power of this chemistry is demonstrated by the successful hydrogenation of a wide variety of electronically and sterically diverse olefins in excellent yield and high enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity.  相似文献

The incorporation of small molecules into lipid bilayers is a process of biological importance and clinical relevance that can change the material properties of cell membranes and cause deleterious side effects for certain drugs. Here we report the direct observation, using surface-enhanced Raman and IR spectroscopies (SERS, SEIRA), of the insertion of ibuprofen molecules into hybrid lipid bilayers. The alkanethiol-phospholipid hybrid bilayers were formed onto gold nanoshells by self-assembly, where the underlying nanoshell substrates provided the necessary enhancements for SERS and SEIRA. The spectroscopic data reveal specific interactions between ibuprofen and phospholipid moieties and indicate that the overall hydrophobicity of ibuprofen plays an important role in its intercalation in these membrane mimics.  相似文献

Summary : Acrylic monomers are important intermediates for the chemical industry. Especially acrylic acid (AA) is the basis for various reactions, such as polymerizations and esterifications and is, therefore, responsible for high product diversity. Spontaneous polymerization is a safety problem during the transportation and storage of acrylic monomers. In the production process, polymerization leads to blockages in the apparatus. For the prevention of these issues, special stabilizer systems are used such as hydroquinone monomethyl ether (MeHQ)/oxygen and phenothiazine (PTZ). The reactions of these stabilizer systems are not well understood at the moment. Therefore a lot of expertise and experience are necessary to guarantee safe handling. In this paper some methods for the investigation of stability related reaction kinetics are presented. A better comprehension of the mechanism of the polymerization inhibition is generated by the kinetic simulation with these data.  相似文献

The problem of sequence comparison via optimal alignments occurs naturally in many areas of applications. The simplest such technique is based on evaluating a score given by the length of a longest common subsequence divided by the average length of the original sequences. In this paper we investigate the expected value of this score when the input sequences are random and their length tends to infinity. The corresponding limit exists but is not known precisely. We derive a theoretical large deviation, convex analysis and Monte Carlo based method to compute a consistent sequence of upper bounds on the unknown limit. An empirical practical version of our method produces promising numerical results.  相似文献
