Numerical and experimental studies have been undertaken to analyze three parameters controlling the compaction of granular media submitted to sinusoidal horizontal vibrations. We have characterized the influence of the dimensionless acceleration Γ, the geometry of the container and the friction coefficients on the grain velocities and on the packing densities. Above a critical acceleration Γ, the velocities increases with Γ. For low values of Γ, the surface layers are compacted, whereas the bottom layers remain at their initial density. For high values of Γ, the bottom layers get compacted, the surface layers are fluidized so that the bulk dynamic and relaxed densities decreased. In the same way, the effect of the dimensions of the container and of the friction coefficients on the packing properties has been studied for given heights of sand, acceleration and frequency. It has been shown that the influence of the two last parameters is similar to that of acceleration. The numerical results given by the Discrete Element Method appear to be in good agreement with experimental results.  相似文献

Among the three coexisting types of terraces found on the twofold surface of the d-Al-Cu-Co quasicrystal, nanodomains are essentially observed on the transition-metal rich ones, with a coherent interface boundary. Both clean surface and Ag growth analyses, demonstrate that nanodomain surfaces are structurally identical to one of the two other terraces, which contains 85 at.?% Al. We provide evidence that the nanodomains are a manifestation of phason defects that extend downward toward the bulk, and state that nanodomains develop because the energetic cost of creating the phason is outweighed by the change in surface energy. Consequently, the formation of nanodomains involves more than just the surface layer, but is driven by surface energetics.  相似文献

A broadband integrated waveguide polarization beam splitter consisting of a metal nanoribbon and two dielectric waveguides is proposed and numerically investigated. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been widely applied to solve problems arising in group decision making, by synthesising different or conflicting judgements. However, directly synthesising conflicting judgements by calculating the geometric mean of preference weights (ratios) in AHP may not reach consensus from all members in a decision making group, especially, when those members represent the stakeholders of the decision making problem. This study proposes a new method that uses the genetic algorithm and utility function to synthesise preference weights to prevent this fallacy occurring when implementing the classical AHP approach. Using the proposed method, the final decision can be achieved with only minimally-adjusted preference weights.  相似文献

This paper proposes a dynamic model for a defective production system with Poka-Yoke. Poka-Yoke is a Japanese phrase which means mistake-proofing. The technique of Poka-Yoke has been diversely applied in modern production systems. In this study, we evaluate the total cost of a defective production system with Poka-Yoke. We also use a practical case in automotive industry to verify the proposed model. The case study reveals that Poka-Yoke is a cost-effective mechanism that generates satisfactory return of a defective production system, the effect of which depends on the investment cost of Poka-Yoke.  相似文献

Organic-metal interfaces, in particular, self-assembling systems, are interesting in the field of molecular electronics. In this study, we have investigated the formation of the Ag(110)-iron phthalocyanine (FePc) interface in a coverage range of less than 1 and up to 2 ML using synchrotron based photoelectron spectroscopy and low energy electron diffraction. As-deposited FePc forms a densely packed first layer exhibiting a 3 x 2c(6 x 2) symmetry. Upon thermal treatment the order at the interface is modified depending on the initial FePc coverage, resulting in less densely packed but still ordered superstructures. The first monolayer is relatively strongly bound to the substrate, leading to the formation of an interface state just below the Fermi level. The highest occupied molecular orbital of FePc in the second layer is found at 1 eV higher binding energy compared to the interface state.  相似文献

The transition of ionic micelles to vesicles with added salts is explored in this paper. The catanionic surfactant solution was comprised of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) with an excess of SDS. The micellar size increased with concentration for all salts. No anion specificity was found, probably because of the excess of SDS. However, when the cation of the added salt was varied, large differences were observed in the hydrodynamic radii of the aggregates. A classification of the cations according to their ability to increase the measured hydrodynamic radii follows a Hofmeister series. The change in aggregate size can be explained by modified counterion binding and dehydration of the surfactant headgroups.  相似文献

Pure Na0.44MnO2 samples were prepared via a solid-state route by carefully tuning the synthesis conditions. Insertion/deinsertion of sodium into the well-crystallized particles leads to capacities as high as 140 mA.h/g. A potentiostatic intermittent titration technic, together with in situ X-ray diffraction measurements, enabled us to evidence the presence of six biphasic transitions within a potential range of 2-3.8 V (vs Na+/Na). The insertion process within the NaxMnO2 system is fully reversible over the 0.25 < x < 0.65 composition range and presents some degree of irreversibility as values of x below 0.25 are reached. Furthermore, we similarly showed that HCl treatment has a detrimental effect on these electrochemical properties because of structural and textural evolutions.  相似文献
