Detailed diagnostic of antiproton beams at low energies is required for essentially all experiments at the Antiproton Decelerator (AD), but will be particularly important for the future Extra Low ENergy Antiproton ring (ELENA) and its keV beam lines to the different experiments. Many monitors have been successfully developed and operated at the AD, but in particular beam profile monitoring remains a challenge. A dedicated beam instrumentation and detector test stand has recently been setup at the AE\(\bar {g}\)IS experiment (Antimatter Experiment: Gravity, Interferometry, Spectroscopy). Located behind the actual experiment, it allows for parasitic use of the antiproton beam at different energies for testing and calibration. With the aim to explore and validate different candidate technologies for future low energy beam lines, as well as the downstream antihydrogen detector in AE\(\bar {g}\)IS, measurements have been carried out using Silicon strip and pixel detectors, a purpose-built secondary emission monitor and emulsions. We investigate the suppression of the superconducting transition temperature due to Coulomb repulsion in granular metallic systems at large tunneling conductance between the grains, g(T)>1. We find the correction to the superconducting transition temperature for 3D granular samples and films. We demonstrate that, depending on the parameters of superconducting grains, the corresponding granular samples can be divided into two groups: (i). the granular samples that belong to the first group may have only insulating or superconducting states at zero temperature depending on the bare intergranular tunneling conductance g(T), while (ii). the granular samples that belong to the second group in addition have an intermediate metallic phase where superconductivity is suppressed while the effects of the Coulomb blockade are not yet strong. 相似文献
An isotropic melt of a chiral side‐chain polymethacrylate was studied by electric birefringence technique. A phase transition between two different isotropic phases was detected by Kerr effect and confirmed by WAXS measurements. The obtained experimental data can explain the previously reported bistable phase behavior of the polymer, as conventional Sm A phase is formed in slow cooling whereas a TGB‐like, optically isotropic mesophase in fast cooling.

We study electronic transport properties of ferromagnetic nanoparticle arrays and nanodomain materials near the Curie temperature in the limit of weak coupling between the grains. We calculate the conductivity in the Ohmic and non-Ohmic regimes and estimate the magnetoresistance jump in the resistivity at the transition temperature. The results are applicable for many emerging materials, including artificially self-assembled nanoparticle arrays and a certain class of manganites, where localization effects within the clusters can be neglected. 相似文献

The relative decay probability B(φ → ηγ) = (1.259 ± 0.030 ± 0.059)% in the decay channel η → π+π?π0 has been measured in an experiment using a spherical neutral detector in the VEPP-2M electron-positron storage ring.
