We present a study of micro micro micro micro, eeee, and micro micro ee events using 1 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp[over ] Collider at square root s=1.96 TeV. Requiring the lepton pair masses to be greater than 30 GeV, we observe one event, consistent with the expected background of 0.13+/-0.03 events and with the predicted standard model ZZ and Zgamma* production of 1.71+/-0.15 events. We set an upper limit on the ZZ and Zgamma* cross section of 4.4 pb at the 95% C.L. We also derive limits on anomalous neutral trilinear ZZZ and ZZgamma* gauge couplings. The one-parameter 95% C.L. coupling limits with a form-factor scale Lambda=1.2 TeV are -0.28相似文献

We present the first model-independent measurement of the helicity of W bosons produced in top quark decays, based on a 1 fb(-1) sample of candidate tt events in the dilepton and lepton plus jets channels collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp Collider. We reconstruct the angle theta(*) between the momenta of the down-type fermion and the top quark in the W boson rest frame for each top quark decay. A fit of the resulting costheta(*) distribution finds that the fraction of longitudinal W bosons f(0)=0.425+/-0.166(stat)+/-0.102(syst) and the fraction of right-handed W bosons f(+)=0.119+/-0.090(stat)+/-0.053(syst), which is consistent at the 30% C.L. with the standard model.  相似文献

The Caltech spheromak experiment uses a size A ignitron in switching a 59-$ muhbox{F}$ capacitor bank (charged up to 8 kV) across an inductive plasma load. Typical power levels in the discharge circuit are $sim$200 MW for a duration of $sim!! 10 muhbox{s}$. This paper describes the setup of the circuit and the measurements of various impedances in the circuit. The combined impedance of the size A ignitron and the cables was found to be significantly larger than the plasma impedance. This causes the circuit to behave like a current source with low energy transfer efficiency. This behavior is expected to be common with other pulsed plasma experiments of similar size that employ an ignitron switch.   相似文献

The 1081 species cyclohexane-oxidation elementary reaction mechanism of Silke et al. (DOI: 10.1021/jp067592d ) is reduced in the number of species by a factor using the local self-similarity tabulation (LS2T) method. Reduced-species mechanisms of both 20 (R20) and 15 (R15) species are created in the high-pressure combustion regime typical of diesel engines. To evaluate the performance of R20 and R15 against the elementary kinetics, simulations are performed for cyclohexane/air mixtures at initial temperatures of 1150, 900, 750, and 680 K and constant pressures of 20 and 40 bar for a variety of equivalence ratios (, 1.0, and 2 for 1150 and 900 K; for 750 K; for 680 K). Very good agreement between R20 and R15 with the elementary kinetics mechanism is demonstrated at 1150 and 900 K for which the self-similarity is very well obeyed; however, only fair agreement is obtained at 750 and 680 K, a fact which is traced to the less faithful adherence to the self-similarity due to the one order of magnitude increase in ignition time over the range 750-680 K. These results are found to be quasi-independent of the tabulation grid. Future work is proposed to improve the reduction in the cold-ignition, high-pressure regime.  相似文献

We report a search for R-parity-violating production and decay of sneutrino particles in the emu final state with 1.04+/-0.06 fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider in 2002-2006. Good agreement between the data and the standard model prediction is observed. With no evidence for new physics, we set limits on the R-parity-violating couplings lambda'311 and lambda312 as a function of the sneutrino mass.  相似文献
