Following the advent of synthetic biology, several gene networks have been engineered to emulate digital devices, with the ability to program cells for different applications. In this work, we adapt the concept of logical stochastic resonance to a synthetic gene network derived from a bacteriophage λ. The intriguing results of this study show that it is possible to build a biological logic block that can emulate or switch from the AND to the OR gate functionalities through externally tuning the system parameters. Moreover, this behavior and the robustness of the logic gate are underpinned by the presence of an optimal amount of random fluctuations. We extend our earlier work in this field, by taking into account the effects of correlated external (additive) and internal (multiplicative or state-dependent) noise. Molecular dynamics simulation has been implemented for doping effect on melting temperature, heat capacity, self-diffusion coefficient of gold–copper bimetallic nanostructure with 55 total gold and copper atom numbers and its bulk alloy. Trend of melting temperature for gold–copper bimetallic nanocluster is not same as melting temperature copper–gold bulk alloy. Molecular dynamics simulation of our result regarding bulk melting temperature is consistence with available experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulation shows that melting temperature of gold–copper bimetallic nanocluster increases with copper atom fraction. Semi-empirical potential model and quantum Sutton–Chen potential models do not change melting temperature trend with copper doping of gold–copper bimetallic nanocluster. Self-diffusion coefficient of copper atom is greater than gold atom in gold–copper bimetallic nanocluster. Semi-empirical potential within the tight-binding second moment approximation as new application potential model for melting temperature of gold–copper bulk structure shows better result in comparison with EAM, Sutton–Chen potential, and quantum Sutton–Chen potential models. 相似文献

The dual sideband optical carrier suppression (DSB-OCS) technique is employed in the optical carrier generation for 40 GHz radio over fiber (ROF) system. A dual electrode Mach-Zehnder modulator (DE-MZM) with the minimum transmission bias (MiTB) technique is employed to build the system. The results show that, a 40 GHz carrier is successfully generated with the amplitude up to −29 dBm and signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 35 dB and a high definition (HD) signal is successfully transmitted using the system. Finally, the bit error rate (BER) measurement is carried out for the system with 1.25 Gbps OOK signal showing an error free 40 GHz ROF system with almost no penalty between the back to back and 20 km fiber for a BER of 10−9. 相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations are performed to obtain insight into the structural properties of hydrated Nafion using the sandwich model of the polymer membrane. It is shown that a larger distance between the sulfonate groups of a chain leads to the polymer forming a better inverted micelles structure. Water– and hydronium–polymer interfaces are investigated. Comparing our results with others indicates that, from the perspective of distance, the formation of shells of water and hydronium ions is independent of the model and monomer type, but depends on both if the coordination number is considered. The behaviour of water molecules and hydronium ions is also studied dynamically. Our survey shows that there is an increasing jump in the diffusion coefficient of water at a certain distance between the sulfonate groups of a chain, which then tends to change slightly. Such behaviour is discussed on the basis of density, the available space, as well as the loss of one translational degree of freedom of the water molecules at larger distances. The diffusion coefficient for the hydronium ions was also determined to be much smaller than that for water (by 3.5–6.1 times). The diffusion coefficient of the hydronium ions shows a declining jump at a certain distance between the sulfonate groups of a chain, but the jump is not significant as that for the water molecules. 相似文献

Computation of the Coefficients Appearing in the Uniform Asymptotic Expansions of Integrals 下载免费PDF全文
The coefficients that appear in uniform asymptotic expansions for integrals are typically very complicated. In the existing literature, the majority of the work only give the first two coefficients. In a limited number of papers where more coefficients are given, the evaluation of the coefficients near the coalescence points is normally highly numerically unstable. In this paper, we illustrate how well‐known Cauchy‐type integral representations can be used to compute the coefficients in a very stable and efficient manner. We discuss the cases: (i) two coalescing saddles, (ii) two saddles coalesce with two branch points, and (iii) a saddle point near an endpoint of the interval of integration. As a special case of (ii), we give a new uniform asymptotic expansion for Jacobi polynomials in terms of Laguerre polynomials as that holds uniformly for z near 1. A physically based elasto-visco-plastic constitutive model is presented and compared to experimental results for three different mild steels. The experiments consist of tensile tests ranging from quasi-static conditions up to strain rates of 103 s?1 as well as quasi-static simple and reverse shear tests at different amounts of pre-strain. Additional two-step sequential mechanical tests (Bauschinger and orthogonal effects) have been performed to further evaluate the ability of the model to describe strain-path changes at moderate/large strains. The model requires significantly fewer material parameters compared to other visco-plasticity models from the literature, while being able to describe some of the main features of the strain-rate sensitivity of mild steels. Accordingly, the parameter identification is simple and intuitive, requiring a relatively small set of experiments. The strain-rate sensitivity modeling is not restricted to a particular hardening law and thus provides a general framework in which advanced hardening equations can be adopted. 相似文献

We study compact toric strict locally conformally Kähler manifolds. We show that the Kodaira dimension of the underlying complex manifold is \(-\infty \), and that the only compact complex surfaces admitting toric strict locally conformally Kähler metrics are the diagonal Hopf surfaces. In this paper, an optimal operational strategy is developed to optimize the system utilization while controlling the bottleneck problem in a finite capacity integrated assembly line system (consisting of a set of tandem workstations, a set of inspection stations, a loading station and an unloading station, linked by a set of transporter stations).
