Extensive isotope labeling (2H, 13C and 15N), collision-induced dissociation (CID) and multiple-stage tandem mass spectrometry were used to investigate the elimination of H2O from a series of model, metal-cationized tripeptide methyl esters. The present results corroborate our earlier suggestion that loss of water from lithiated peptides is initiated by a nucleophilic attack from the N-terminal side upon an amide carbonyl carbon atom to form a five-membered ring as an intermediate followed by 1,2-elimination of water. We show that the nucleophilic atom is the oxygen atom of the N-terminal amide group in the fragmentation of [AcGGGOMe+Li]+ as well as [GGGOMe+Li]+. However, the subsequent fragmentation is markedly different in the two cases as a result of the absence and presence of a free amino group. In particular, extensive scrambling of protons in the alpha-positions of GGGOMe is observed, presumably as a consequence of intervention of the basic amino group.  相似文献

A series of polyethers, namely poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(propylene glycol) (PPG), poly(butylene glycol) (PBG) and poly(tetramethylene glycol) (PTMeG), has been characterised by means of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation collision-induced dissociation (MALDI-CID) using a hybrid sector orthogonal-time-of-flight (TOF) instrument. The data indicate that this technique can be used to generate information about the end-group functionality of these polymers, including in some cases information about branching of the alkyl chains of the initiating groups. Proposals are made for the fragmentation pathways for these polymers.  相似文献

We examine a local realist bound in the case of a one-atom micromaser. It is shown that such a bound is violated using a simplified treatment of the micromaser. We consider the effect of dissipation in a proposed experiment with the real micromaser. It is seen that the magnitude of violation of a Bell-type inequality depends significantly on the cavity parameters.  相似文献

This paper reports the use of a quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-TOF) mass spectrometer fitted with a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) ion source for the analysis of neutral and acidic glycosphingolipids. All compounds gave strong [M + Na]+ ions with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid as the matrix, with no loss of sensitivity with increasing mass as was observed from the corresponding ions produced by electrospray. Neutral glycosphingolipids showed negligible in-source fragmentation but sialylated compounds fragmented by loss of sialic acid. However, these losses were not accompanied by unfocused post-source-decay ions as observed with MALDI-reflectron-TOF instruments. The MS/MS spectra were almost identical to those obtained by electrospray. Fragmentation of all compounds was mainly by glycosidic cleavage to give ions, both with and without the ceramide moiety, which defined the carbohydrate chain sequence. Weak ions which defined the sphingosine chain length and abundant ions, produced by loss of the acyl chain, were present when this chain contained a 2-hydroxy group. The technique was applied to the identification of ceramide-trihexosides present in tissues from mice genetically modified to model one of the glycolipid storage diseases (Fabry disease).  相似文献

Landslides falling into water bodies can generate destructive waves, which can be classified as tsunamis. An experimental facility to study this phenomenon has been set up. It consists of a landslide generator releasing gravel at high-speed into a wave basin. A non-intrusive system has been designed ad-hoc to be able to measure the high velocity and the geometry of the landslide as well as the generated waves characteristics. The measurement system employs the treatment of images captured by a high-speed camera which records the launched granular material illuminated by a laser sheet. A grid of laser sheets marks the basin water surface. The water has been filled by a small amount of kaolin to properly reflect the laser light at water surface. Thus, by filming with high definition cameras the perturbed water surface and successively processing the resulting images, it has been possible to measure the generated waves. The measurement framework employs a versatile camera calibration technique which allows accurate measurements in presence of: (1) high lens distortions; (2) pronounced non-parallelism condition between camera sensor and plane of measurement coincident with the laser sheet. The maximum resolution of the measurement tool is 0.01 mm, while the maximum uncertainty due to systematic error has been estimated to be 15% for the worst-case scenario. This work improves the suitability of image-based measuring systems in granular flows and free surface hydraulics experiments.  相似文献

New 4-pentafluorosulfanyl and 4-perfluoroalkylthio derivatives of 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene and 1-chloro-2,6-dinitrobenzene were prepared from the corresponding bis(4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl)disulfide and bis(4-chloro-3,5-dinitrophenyl)disulfide, respectively. The SF5 derivatives were obtained by fluorination of the disulfides with AgF2 according to Sheppard’s method, while perfluoroalkylation was carried out by means of thermolytic reactions with xenon(II) bis(perfluoroalkylcarboxylates). The introduction of fluorine-containing, electron-withdrawing substituents into the aromatic ring (in the presence of other deactivating groups) reinforces the activation of the halogen substituent towards nucleophilic attack. Several nucleophilic substitution reactions have been carried out with these compounds, and as a result, some N- and S-containing groups were introduced in the benzene ring. For example, the previously unknown SF5, CF3S, and C2F5S analogues of trifluralin (Treflan®) were prepared and characterized. Additional synthetic possibilities for heterocyclic chemistry are presented on the basis of reactions of the new 1-chloro-2,6-dinitrobenzene derivatives with ethyl thioglycolate wherein fluorine-containing derivatives of benzothiazole N-oxide were obtained as the main products.  相似文献

The determination of sodium bicarbonate concentrations in PVC cellular compounds by DSC has revealed a linear relationship between concentration and the decomposition enthalpy of the compound. Both the detection limit and the sensitivity of the method are reported. Furthermore, it is shown that the detection limit is significantly less than the concentration of the compound known to be present in typical cellular polymer formulations. Therefore, the DSC method described herein could be used for the analysis and quality control of sodium bicarbonate in PVC cellular compounds.  相似文献

A liquid chromatography/high-field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-FAIMS-MS/MS) semi-quantitative method was developed for the simultaneous determination of prostaglandin (PG) E2, PGD2, PGF(2alpha), 6-keto-PGF(1alpha), and thromboxane (TX) B2. Diluted samples containing these prostanoids and their tetra-deuterium-substituted internal standards were analyzed by LC followed by either selected reaction monitoring (LC-SRM) or FAIMS and selected reaction monitoring (LC-FRM). FAIMS reduced background noise, separated the isobaric ions PGE2 and PGD2, and separated dynamically interchanging TXB2 anomers. This is the first report of the separation of interconverting anomers by FAIMS. Generally, the LC-FRM chromatograms were more selective than the LC-SRM chromatograms. Its potential was demonstrated by analysis of prostanoids in guinea pig lumbar spinal cord homogenate.  相似文献

Biodegradation of a series of chemically modified thermally processed wheat gluten (WG)-based natural polymers were examined according to Australian Standard (AS ISO 14855). Most of these materials reached 93-100% biodegradation within 22 days of composting, and the growth of fungi and significant phase deformation were observed during the process. Chemical crosslinking did slow down the rate or reduce the degree of the biodegradation with different behaviours for different modified systems. The segments containing structures derived from the reactions with additives such as tannin or epoxidised soybean oil remained in the degradation residues while the glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane agent produced ∼20% un-degraded residues containing silicon-crosslinking structures. The biodegradation rate of each component of the materials was also different with the protein and starch components degraded fast but lipid degraded relatively slowly.  相似文献
