The final statesl ± K ± K ± X in jets as signatures ofB_s^0 - \bar B_s^0 mixings

Significant mixing is expected between the neutral bottom mesons \(B_s^0 - \bar B_s^0 \) in the standard model of weak interactions. We propose measurements of the processes \(\left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}c} {e^ + e^ - } \\ {p\bar p} \\ \end{array} } \right\} \to \begin{array}{*{20}c} {b\bar b} \\ {} \\ \end{array} \to l^ + K^ - K^ - X\) as a measure of such mixing. Rates are presented for energetic bottom quark jets, produced ine ⁺ e ^? annihilation.     

Relaxation Limit for Aw-Rascle System

We study the relaxation limit for the Aw-Rascle system of traffic flow. For this we apply the theory of invariant regions and the compensated compactness method to get global existence of Cauchy problem for a particular Aw-Rascle system with source, where the source is the relaxation term, and we show the convergence of this solutions to the equilibrium state.     

Two-particle correlations in e+e− annihilation

We present measurements of two-particle angular correlations in hadron jets produced in e⁺e^? annihilation between 7.7 and 31.6 GeV c.m. energy. The data are compared to predictions of high order perturbative QCD calculations.     

Inferring long memory processes in the climate network via ordinal pattern analysis

We use ordinal patterns and symbolic analysis to construct global climate networks and uncover long- and short-term memory processes. Data analyzed are the monthly averaged surface air temperature (SAT field), and the results suggest that the time variability of the SAT field is determined by patterns of oscillatory behavior that repeat from time to time, with a periodicity related to intraseasonal oscillations and to El Nin?o on seasonal-to-interannual time scales.     

Silver-catalysed enantioselective addition of oh and nh bonds to allenes: a new model for stereoselectivity based on noncovalent interactions

The ability of silver complexes to catalyse the enantioselective addition of O?H and N?H bonds to allenes is demonstrated for the first time by using optically active anionic ligands that were derived from oxophosphorus(V) acids as the sources of chirality. The intramolecular addition of acids, alcohols, and amines to allenes can be achieved with up to 73?% ee. The exploitation of a C?H anomeric effect allowed the absolute configuration of a sample of 2-substituted tetrahydrofuran of low ee to be unambiguously assigned by comparison of the chiroptical ORD and VCD measurements with calculated spectra. In the second part of the work, the origin of the stereoselectivity was probed by DFT free-energy calculations of the transition states. A new model of enantiomeric differentiation was developed that was based on noncovalent interactions. This model allowed us to identify the source of stereoselectivity as weak attractive interactions; such dispersive forces are often overlooked in asymmetric catalysis. A new computational approach was developed that represents these interactions as colour-coded isosurfaces that are characterised by the reduced density-gradient profile.     

Highly stereocontrolled synthesis of natural barbacenic acid,novel bisnorditerpene from Barbacenia flava

Barbacenic acid, a bisnorditerpene with five contiguous asymmetric centers (four fully substituted), has been prepared for the first time through a highly stereocontrolled route in 5.2% overall yield from a known octalone. The synthesis serves to define the absolute configuration of the natural product.     

A new synthesis of sarkomycin

A novel and short synthesis of (±)-sarkomycin is described.
