Differential cross sections and analyzing powers for elastic scattering of 800 MeV polarized protons from 46,48Ti have been measured at laboratory angles ranging between 4° and 21°. The data are analyzed within the spin-dependent KMT formalism. Neutron density distributions are extracted and compared with the results of other experiments and with theoretical predictions. Disagreements between empirical results and DME calculations are found. 相似文献

We consider biased diffusion in a one-dimensional lattice and compare results obtained with fixed time step and kinetic Monte Carlo methods. Spurious dispersion and particle position correlation appear with the fixed time step Monte Carlo approach. The mentioned correlation increases with time. We demonstrate that the correct results, that correspond to a time step that tends to zero, are obtained using the kinetic Monte Carlo method. The conclusions also apply to biased diffusion in two or more dimensions and to random deposition. 相似文献

An example system is studied to discuss precision of the multipoleexpansion, applied to determine forces exerted on particlesby a viscous low-Reynolds-number fluid flow. A single spherein an ambient flow (pure shear, quadratic, and modulated shear)parallel to a close plane wall is considered. Forces and torquesexerted by the ambient flow on a motionless sphere are evaluated.Their precision is determined and related to a multipole orderof the truncation. Similar analysis is performed for a movingsphere with no ambient flow and for a freely moving sphere.Relative motion of the sphere with respect to the wall givesrise to strong lubrication interactions. It is analysed howthese interactions affect accuracy of the pure multipole expansion,and what are the smallest distances where it becomes insufficient.An alternative precise method is applied, in which lubricationexpressions are subtracted from the hydrodynamic forces andtorques, and the residue is evaluated as a fast-convergent seriesof inverse powers of the distance between the sphere centreand the wall. Measurements for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 500 MeV protons from 40Ca and 208Pb at small momentum transfers are reported. The induced proton polarization P and the spin rotation parameter Q were measured for the elastic scattering. The spin rotation parameters DSS′, DSL′, DLL′, dLS′ and the induced polarization P were measured for transitions to the 3−(3.37 MeV) and 5−(4.48 MeV) states in 40Ca and the 3−(2.61 MeV) state in 208Pb. Comparisons of the data with the theoretical calculations were carried out in the framework of nonrelativistic and relativistic approaches. We extracted the spin-up and spin-down channels for the elastic scattering cross sections and found that predictions of the relativistic and nonrelativistic approaches agree well with the spin-up channel data and differ considerably in the spin-down channel. 相似文献
