Estimates of maximal distances between spaces whose norms are invariant under a group of operators

We consider the class A_г of n-dimensional normed spaces with unit balls of the form: , where B _n ¹ n is the unit ball of ℓ _n ¹ , Γ is a finite group of orthogonal operators acting in ℝⁿ, and U is a “random” orthogonal transformation. It is proved that this class contains spaces with a large Banach-Mazur distance between them. If the cardinality of Γ is of order n^c, it is shown that, in the power scale, the diameter of A_г in the modified Banach-Mazur distance behaves as the classical diameter and is of order n. Mass-spectrometric fragmentation of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N,N</Emphasis>-dimethyl-4-methoxy-6-polynitromethyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-amines

Mass-spectrometric fragmentation of N,N-dimethyl-4-methoxy-6-X-1,3,5-triazin-2-amine (X = fluorodinitromethyl, chlorodinitromethyl, bromodinitromethyl, trinitromethyl, 1,1-dinitroethyl, 2-hydroxy-1,1-dinitroethyl) under electron impact was studied. The stability of the molecular ion and the main fragmentation pathways are discussed.

Reactions of 1,3,5-triazinylnitroformaldoxime 4.* synthesis of (5-R-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazines

Heating 4-R-methoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-ylnitroformaldoximes with nitriles leads not to the formation of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles but rather to dimerization of the intermediate 1,3,5-triazinylnitrile oxides to give furoxanes. The reaction of 4-R-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-ylnitroformaldoximes with ammonia and amines gives 1,3,5-triazinylamidoximes, which upon acylation and subsequent intramolecular cyclization yield (5-R-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazines.

Relaxation times and mean free paths of phonons in the boundary scattering regime for silicon single crystals

The phonon focusing in cubic dielectric crystals and its influence on the heat transfer in the boundary phonon scattering regime at low temperatures have been investigated. The mean free paths of phonons of different polarizations in samples of infinite and finite lengths with circular and square cross sections have been calculated in the anisotropic continuum model. For samples of infinite length with circular and square cross sections in the case of the equality of the cross-sectional areas, the angular dependences of the mean free paths normalized by the Casimir length almost completely coincide. It has been shown that the anisotropy of the mean free paths decreases significantly upon changing over from infinite samples to samples of finite length. For silicon crystals, the anisotropy of the phonon mean free paths has been analyzed for each of the branches of the phonon spectrum. It has been found that the mean free paths for phonons of each vibrational mode reach maximum values in the directions of focusing, and, in these directions, they exceed the mean free paths for phonons of the other vibrational modes.
