The development of a gold(I)‐catalyzed sulfination of aryl boronic acids is described. This transformation proceeds through an unprecedented mechanism which exploits the reactivity of gold(I)–heteroatom bonds to form sulfinate anions. We present an analytical and numerical analysis of a simple wavelength or polarization filter/combiner constructed from three single-mode rectangular waveguides. The device has the advantage of easy fabrication using existing planar light guide techniques and can be designed to discriminate between optical signals with distinct polarizations at a given wavelength or between signals at a fixed polarization with a wavelength separation of 9~nm or more. Ce doping. They also make a metal-insulator transition (MIT) and transition temperature increases with increase in Ce concentration

Certain 2-phenylbenzothiazoles containing substituents on the benzothiazole ring possess important biological properties, yet the majority of synthetic methods to 2-phenylbenzothiazoles described to date focus on their unsubstituted ring counterparts. Here we describe a new concise and efficient synthetic route to biologically relevant 2-phenylbenzothiazoles in high yield from the reaction of substituted 2-aminothiophenol disulfides and benzaldehydes, promoted by the inexpensive and non-toxic inorganic oxidant sodium metabisulfite in DMSO at 120 °C. Our new method is tolerant of a range of substituents on both the benzothiazole and phenyl ring, and affords efficient access to substituted 2-phenylbenzothiazoles without the need for column chromatography. 相似文献

Detection of pathogenic Escherichia coli is of the utmost importance in the food industry, water and environmental quality control, and clinical diagnosis for health and safety reasons. In their Full Paper on page 2289 ff., H. Liu et al. describe glycopolymers, with the use of poly(ethylene glycol), as glycoside‐tethered spacers that offer the sensitive detection of E. coli, as a result of the significantly reduced steric binding hindrance of the polymeric carbohydrates to the bacterial pili.

A series of low‐molecular‐weight, compact, and multifunctional cyclic alkenylsulfonyl fluorides were efficiently prepared from the corresponding alkenyl triflates. Palladium‐catalyzed sulfur dioxide insertion using the surrogate reagent DABSO effects sulfinate formation, before trapping with an F electrophile delivers the sulfonyl fluorides. A broad range of functional groups are tolerated, and a correspondingly large collection of derivatization reactions are possible on the products, including substitution at sulfur, conjugate addition, and N‐functionalization. The A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) near-infrared system of CaO was observed for the first time at high resolution using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) chemiluminescence was excited in a Ca + N(2)O flame produced in a Broida-type oven. More than 3000 rotational lines, classified into 19 bands involving the A'(1)Pi 0 = v' = 3 and the X(1)Sigma(+) 1 = v" = 7 vibrational levels were measured in the 4000-10 000 cm(-1) region with a precision of 0.005 cm(-1). The X(1)Sigma(+) (v = 0, 1) millimeter-wave and X(1)Sigma(+) (v = 0-3) infrared data available in the literature were merged with our new electronic data in order to obtain improved Dunham constants for the ground state of CaO. Very peculiar perturbations are observed in the higher vibrational levels of the A'(1)Pi state, so the upper levels of transitions with v' = 2 and 3 were represented by term values in our least-squares analysis. The interaction of the A'(1)Pi (v >/= 2) levels with the nearby b(3)Sigma(+) (v-2) levels has been detected. An extended set of A'(1)Pi (v = 0-3) data has been obtained which is suitable for use in a future multistate deperturbation analysis of the a(3)Pi approximately A'(1)Pi approximately b(3)Sigma(+) approximately A(1)Sigma(+) complex of excited states. The new near-infrared spectra of the A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) transition of CaO also permits the first direct high-resolution linkage between the orange and green systems and the near-infrared bands.
