The preamplifier based on the ASIC NINO for the Time of Flight system (TOF) of MPD/NICA was developed and tested. The signal is read from both sides of the strip of the multi gap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC). In total there are around 14000 channels of electronics. To measure time of flight of secondary particles from collision of heavy ions on the collider NICA the Time over Threshold (ToT) method is used. According to the bench tests the preamplifier board showed stable work and good time resolution <10 ps for one channel. It was also tested at the test beam facility of the Nuclotron. The time resolution of the TOF detector which used the described preamplifier was reached ~42 ps. 相似文献

A ridge carbon beam filter for Spreading Out the Bragg Peak (SOBP) up to 20 mm in the targeted area has been designed and experimentally tested. The instrument was constructed of Plexiglas with a density of 1.165 g/cm3 and has a “teeth” structure with a period of 2.5 mm. The design is based on a simple analytical model and detailed GEANT4 Monte Carlo simulations. In-beam test measurements were performed with a 500-MeV/u 12C beam at the Nuclotron facility of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna. Nonlinear heat conduction has recently been measured near the superfluid transition in pure 4He at very low heat flux Q. Since both dynamic effects and gravity limit the divergence of the superfluid correlation length near the transition at low-Q, these measurements must be repeated in the microgravity environment in order to observe the dynamic effects in isolation. Comparison of the microgravity data to similar data obtained on Earth will provide experimental insight into the effect of gravity on this nonlinear conduction region at low heat flux where theoretical predictions are lacking. While some measurement advantages exist in the microgravity laboratory, it is the study of the direct effect of gravity on the nonlinear conduction measurements that motivate the microgravity need. 相似文献

The measurement technique of cloud contribution to rain attenuation and the equipment consisted of the coherent pulse Doppler radar at wavelength =3.2 cm, the radiometers at=0.4; 0.8 and 1.35 cm and apparatus for signal recording and processing is described. The results of such measurements are given. The Doppler spectrum of the rain backscattered radar signal was used for determination of rain drop size distribution height profile then rain attenuation was calculated and cloud attenuation was determined as the difference between the total attenuation measured by using the radiometers and rain attenuation. The results of this work gave possibility to improve the known rain model of P.Misme for prediction of rain attenuation statistics for Earth-satellite links at millimeter wave. 相似文献

The concept of roughening transitions (RT) was first introduced into theory by Burton and Cabrera (1949). RT, which manifests itself in disappearance of smooth facets in equilibrium shape of the crystal (faceting transition), has been under intensive theoretical study in the last few years (Andreev 1981; Rottman and Wortis 1984). Current interest in this field is connected mainly with the problems of “quantum roughening’ and critical behaviour of the surface stiffness. Experimental studies of RT in usual classical crystals meet with serious difficulties due to very long crystal shape relaxation times. In this respect, helium crystals seem to be the best candidates because of their extremely fast growth kinetics which ensures sufficiently short shape relaxation times (Keshishevet al 1982). We have recently investigated the equilibrium shape of large4He crystals in the vicinities of the two different RT (T R=1.2 K and 0.9 K) by a simple optical technique which provides the temperature and angular dependences of the surface stiffness (Babkinet al 1958, 1984, 1985). The data obtained by this method show, in accord with theory, that both studied RT being continuous phase transitions. However, the measured critical behaviour of the surface stiffness cannot be explained satisfactorily by current theories, either by the phenomenological “mean field” theory (Andreev 1981) or by the lattice model calculation (Rottman and Wortis 1984). 相似文献

We consider the effect of the magnetic anisotropy of superparamagnetic particles on the magnetization process. We check calculations of the temperature dependence of the magnetization in two limiting cases: the particles are rigidly attached to a nonmagnetic matrix, or the particles are free, leading to rotational degrees of freedom.
