We have searched for a deeply bound kaonic state by using the FINUDA spectrometer installed at the e(+)e(-) collider DAPhiNE. Almost monochromatic K(-)'s produced through the decay of phi(1020) mesons are used to observe K(-) absorption reactions stopped on very thin nuclear targets. Taking this unique advantage, we have succeeded to detect a kaon-bound state K(-)pp through its two-body decay into a Lambda hyperon and a proton. The binding energy and the decay width are determined from the invariant-mass distribution as 115(+6)(-5)(stat)(+3)(-4)(syst) MeV and 67(+14)(-11)(stat)(+2)(-3)(syst) MeV, respectively.  相似文献

We report on a high statistics search for the Ξ??(1860) resonance in Σ?-nucleus collisions at 340 GeV/c. No evidence for this resonance is found in our data sample which contains 676000 Ξ? candidates above bakground. For the decay channel Ξ??(1860)→Ξ? π ? and the kinematic range 0.15<xF<0.9 we find a 3σ upper limit for the production cross section of 3.1 and 3.5 μb per nucleon, for reactions with carbon and copper, respectively.  相似文献

We present the first lattice QCD calculation with realistic sea quark content of the D+-meson decay constant f(D+). We use the MILC Collaboration's publicly available ensembles of lattice gauge fields, which have a quark sea with two flavors (up and down) much lighter than a third (strange). We obtain f(D+)=201+/-3+/-17 MeV, where the errors are statistical and a combination of systematic errors. We also obtain f(Ds)=249+/-3+/-16 MeV for the Ds meson.  相似文献

At the time when the giant flare of SGR1806-20 occurred, the AURIGA "bar" gravitational-wave (GW) detector was on the air with a noise performance close to stationary Gaussian. This allows us to set relevant upper limits, at a number of frequencies in the vicinities of 900 Hz, on the amplitude of the damped GW wave trains, which, according to current models, could have been emitted, due to the excitation of normal modes of the star associated with the peak in x-ray luminosity.  相似文献

We present a complete systematics (excitation functions and system-size dependences) of global stopping and side flow for heavy ion reactions in the energy range between 0.09A and 1.93A GeV. For the heaviest system, Au+Au, we observe a plateau of maximal stopping extending from about 0.2A to 0.8A GeV with a fast drop on both sides. The degree of stopping, which is shown to remain significantly below the expectations of a full stopping scenario, is found to be highly correlated to the amount of side flow.  相似文献

We have measured differential cross-sections for elastic scattering with internal fiber targets in the recirculating beam of the proton synchrotron COSY. Measurements were made continuously during acceleration for projectile kinetic energies between 0.23 and 2.59 GeV in the angular range . Details of the apparatus and the data analysis are given and the resulting excitation functions and angular distributions presented. The precision of each data point is typically better than 4%, and a relative normalization uncertainty of only 2.5% within an excitation function has been reached. Triple differential dijet cross sections in interactions are presented in the region of photon virtualities 2 < Q 2 < 80 GeV2, inelasticities 0.1 < y < 0.85, jet transverse energies E * T 1 > 7 GeV, E * T 2 > 5 GeV, and pseudorapidities . The measurements are made in the centre-of-mass frame, using an integrated luminosity of 57 pb-1. The data are compared with NLO QCD calculations and LO Monte Carlo programs with and without a resolved virtual photon contribution. NLO QCD calculations fail to describe the region of low Q 2 and low jet transverse energies, in contrast to a LO Monte Carlo generator which includes direct and resolved photon interactions with both transversely and longitudinally polarised photons. A resonance search has been made in the invariant-mass spectrum with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of .
