The vesicle system consisting of 80 mol% dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DPPE) and 20 mol% dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol (DPPG) undergoes to structural changes caused by various concentrations of Salmonella minnesota R595 lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The phenomenon was investigated by methods applying small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS), calorimetry (DSC) and freeze-fracture. In the low LPS concentration regime (investigated at 0.02 LPS/DPPE–DPPG molar ratio) a phase separation was observed. Two kind of domains are formed which are rich and poor in DPPE and in these domains cubic and lamellar structures are present, respectively. Increasing the LPS concentration up to 0.1 LPS/DPPE–DPPG molar ratio the phase separation is more expressed and the temperature domains of the phase transitions are more different. Increasing the temperature chain melting of the lamellar phase occurs first and destruction of the cubic phase is observed later. At high LPS concentration (equimolar ratio of LPS/DPPE–DPPG), where this amphiphilic molecule cannot be considered any more a guest molecule, the cubic structure dominates the phase behaviour of the LPS molecules.  相似文献

Microorganisms isolated from a soil sample collected from a gasoline filling station (located in Guwahati) were tested for their pyrene- and anthracene-degrading potential. Preliminary studies showed the ability of the organism to grow on carbon-free mineral medium (CFMM) supplemented with pyrene as the sole source of carbon. The organisms were found to produce a bioemulsifier when grown on CFMM with glucose or glycerol and/or pyrene as the carbon source. The organisms could also utilize anthracene when grown on mineral salt medium along with 2% glycerol. Within 2 d, anthracene concentration dropped less than 30% of the original concentration. Approximately 100 mg of the emulsifier was isolated from 25 mL of the 5-d-grown culture. The emulsifier was tested to produce emulsion with both an aliphatic and an aromatic group of hydrocarbons and resulting emulsions were found to be stable for a long period of time when keptat 10–15°C. The emulsifier was also quite stable in a pH range of 3.0–11.0. In a concentration range of 0.5–10 mg/mL, it resulted in a linear increment of apparent pyrene and anthracene solubility in water.  相似文献

The adsorption of a polar (water) and a non-polar (n-octane) liquid on silica gels, modified by adsorption of proteins, has been studied by thermal analysis. Silica gels with physically adsorbed BSA and ovalbumin layers were used. Thermodesorption energies were determined from Q-TG and Q-DTG curves recorded under quasi-equilibrium conditions. Significant differences in liquid desorption were observed from the surfaces due to heterogeneous changes (energetic and geometrical) as a result of modification. These results are compared with those obtained for the samples heated at 160°C for 1 h.  相似文献

A simple, rapid, and low-cost coulometric method for direct detection of glyphosate using hydrophilic interaction chromatography is presented. The principle of detection is based on the enhancement of the anodic current of copper microelectrode in the presence of complexing agents, such as glyphosate, with the formation of a soluble Cu(II) complex. Under optimized conditions, the limit of detection (S/R = 3) for glyphosate was 0.1 mg L−1 (0.59 μM) without any preconcentration method. The calibration curve has been found linear in all concentration range tested (from limit of detection to 34 mg L−1) with an excellent correlation coefficient (0.9999). The present method was successfully applied for the determination of glyphosate in fruit juices without any kind of extraction, clean-up, or preconcentration step, with recoveries of 92 and 90% for apple and grape juice, respectively.  相似文献

A common scepticism towards the application of many product formulations results from the fact that their long-term stability is difficult to predict. In the present study we report on a new approach of kinetic analysis of the oxidation reactions of natural rubbers with and without stabiliser in an oxygen atmosphere at moderate temperatures using CL measurements carried out on a newly-developed instrumentation. The kinetic parameters of the oxidation process, calculated from the chemiluminescence’s signals by means of the differential isoconversional method of Friedman, were subsequently applied for the simulation of the rubber aging under different temperature profiles. The presented results are the first stage of research by using the chemiluminescence method to measure the oxidative aging of rubber and predicting the life time of rubber items.  相似文献

A colloidal suspension of exfoliated, layered cobalt oxide nanosheets has been synthesized through the intercalation of quaternary tetramethylammonium ions into protonated lithium cobalt oxide. According to atomic force microscopy, exfoliated nanosheets of layered cobalt oxide show a plateau‐like height profile with nanometer‐level height, underscoring the formation of unilamellar 2D nanosheets. The exfoliation of layered cobalt oxide was cross‐confirmed by X‐ray diffraction, UV/Vis spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The maintenance of the hexagonal in‐plane structure of the cobalt oxide lattice after the exfoliation process was evidenced by selected‐area electron diffraction and Co K‐edge X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure analysis. The zeta‐potential measurements clearly demonstrated the negative surface charge of cobalt oxide nanosheets. Adopting the nanosheets of layered cobalt oxide as a precursor, we were able to prepare the monodisperse CoO nanocrystals with a particle size of ≈10 nm as well as the heterolayered film composed of cobalt oxide monolayer and polycation.  相似文献

Aerobically grown Shewanella sp. bacterial suspension drop‐coated on a disposable screen‐printed carbon electrode was found to possess electroactivity without the aid of redox mediator. Cyclic voltammetric studies revealed the characteristics of a mixed diffusion adsorption‐controlled electrochemical process for direct electron transfer at the bacteria‐modified electrode. Both FE‐SEM and ATR FT‐IR experiments were carried out to investigate the surface characteristics. The electroanalytical applicability was further demonstrated for electrocatalytic reduction of arsenite, hydrogen peroxide and nitrite. Low cost and very simple manufacturing procedure allow for the proposed bacterial sensor to be applied as disposable devices.  相似文献

Computer design was concocted for a series of caged alicyclic structures without small cycles.
