Synthesis of 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols and their S-substituted derivatives

New 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols were synthesized by reactions of the corresponding carboxylic acid hydrazides with isothiocyanates and subsequent cyclization of intermediate 1,4-substituted thiosemicarbazides. Alkylation of 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols with benzyl chlorides and bromacetophenones gave only S-substituted derivatives.     

The first one-pot ‘alkane-like’ reactions of carbonyl-containing adamantanes

A novel ‘alkane-like’ methodology for the direct and very simple one-pot functionalization of amides and an ester of 1-adamantanecarboxylic acid provides access to new and synthetically challenging 1,3-dicarbonyl-containing adamantanoid compounds with the same or different functional groups.     

Synthesis of benzo[c]-2-furanone derivatives from functionally-substituted 2-buten-2-olides

The reaction of substituted 2-acetyl-2-buten-4-olides with diethyl oxalate gives 3-hydroxy-5-ethoxycarbonyl-7,7-dialkylbenzo[c]-2-furanones. On the theory of light and atomic backscattering in the Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas

A semiclassical theory of light scattering from a Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas is developed. It is shown that the results of theoretical calculations are in qualitative agreement with the data obtained from recent experiments on the observation of atoms scattered in the backward direction with respect to the direction of a pump laser beam. It is demonstrated that there can arise a field that propagates in the backward direction and whose intensity exceeds the intensity of conventional Rayleigh scattering.     

Synthesis of N-aryl derivatives of vicinal aminoalcohols

Synthesis was performed of substituted 2-propanols based on glycidyl phenyl and glycidyl allyl ethers, Also some acetic acid esters were prepared.     

Reaction of acrichin with hexachloroantimonic acid and its analytic application

The fluorometric reaction of acrichin (quinacrine hydrochloride) with hexachloroantimonic acid has been studied. The formation of a water-insoluble product has been shown. The precipitate contains equimolar quantities of acrichin and acid. The optimal conditions of formation, extraction, and determination were found. Theory of light and atom scattering in the Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas

A semiclassical theory of superradiant light scattering from a Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas is developed without recourse to the mean field approximation. The dynamics and spectrum of superradiant field, as well as the kinetics of formation of coherent atomic states with various translational momenta are calculated. The results are qualitatively consistent with experimental data for atoms scattered in the backward direction relative to that of the exciting laser beam propagation.     

Sets of absolute convergence of double trigonometric series

We obtain a sufficient condition for a set of plane measure zero to be a set of absolute convergence (an A.C.-set) for a double trigonometric series. Specifically, let y=f(x) (0 x2) be a smooth curve and let inif (x) t <.
