In this study, we prepared gold nanorod (NR)-embedded N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) hydrogels and studied their volume phase transition behavior induced by near-infrared (near-IR) laser irradiation utilizing the photothermal conversion characteristics of the NRs. When poly(ethylene glycol)-modified NRs were used for the preparation of composite gels, the NRs showed marked dispersion stability in the gel. Near-IR laser irradiation of the gel (cylindrical shape, diameter = 140 microm) under the following conditions, NR concentrations in the gel > or =100 microM and laser irradiation power > or =490 mW, resulted in shrinkage of the gel in the following manner: (1) waist formation around the irradiation spot and (2) growth of the waist along the axial directions of the gel. The gel shrinking induced by near-IR irradiation occurred much more rapidly than that afforded by a temperature jump, because the former was not accompanied by the skin layer formation, which disturbs the rapid shrinking of the gels. When a composite gel containing the model drug (rhodamine-labeled dextran) was irradiated with a near-IR laser, the rapid release of the drug was observed. Taking advantage of the high spatial resolution of the irradiation point, we further achieved the irradiation-point-specific release of the drug from one such gel.  相似文献

The effects of surfactant mixing on interfacial tension and on microemulsion formation were examined for systems of air/water and water/supercritical CO2 (scCO2) interfaces and for water/scCO2 microemulsions. A fluorinated surfactant, sodium bis(1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl)-2-sulfosuccinate (8FS(EO)2), was mixed with the three hydrocarbon surfactants, Pluronic L31, Tergitol TMN-6, and decyltrimethylammonium chloride (DeTAC), at equimolar ratio. For all the cases, the interfacial tension was significantly lowered by the mixing. The positive synergistic effect suggests that the mixed surfactants tend to pack more closely on the interface than the pure constituents. It was found, however, that the microemulsion formation in scCO2 was never facilitated by the mixing, except for the case of TMN-6. This is probably due to the segregation of the surfactants into hydrocarbon-rich and fluorocarbon-rich phases on the microemulsion surface.  相似文献

Holographic gratings were formed in thick polymer films containing azobenzene and diphenylacetylene (tolane) moieties in the Bragg regime. Amorphous polymers containing various contents of the azobenzene moiety with photosensitivity and the tolane moiety with large birefringence in the side chain were synthesized, and optically transparent thick polymer films were prepared. The films were irradiated with a linearly polarized beam from an Ar+ laser (488 nm), and the transmittance of a He-Ne laser beam (633 nm) through a pair of crossed polarizers, with the film between them, was measured to estimate a photoinduced birefringence (deltan). The value of deltan increased with an increase in the tolane moiety content in the polymer films. When two linearly polarized beams at 488 nm were interfered in the film, a diffraction beam was observed, and the maximum diffraction efficiency (eta) increased with the tolane moiety content. In the film containing 70 mol% of the tolane moiety, the highest eta of 99% was achieved, and angular selectivity due to Bragg diffraction was clearly observed. We consider the cooperative molecular motion of the tolane moieties to be induced by the photoinduced change in alignment of the azobenzene moieties even if the polymers show no liquid-crystalline phase. When two orthogonal circularly polarized beams were allowed to interfere in the film, a Bragg-type polarization grating was formed. It was found that the value of eta reached 90% within 920 ms.  相似文献

Electrified co-jetting of two aqueous polymer solutions followed by a thermal cross-linking step was used to create water-stable biphasic nanocolloids. For this purpose, aqueous solution mixtures of poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid) and poly(acrylic acid) were employed as jetting solutions. When the biphasic nanocolloids created by side-by-side electrified co-jetting were thermally treated, a cross-linking reaction occurred between amide groups and carboxylic groups to form stable imide groups. Infrared spectroscopy was employed to monitor the reaction. The quality and the integrity of the resulting biphasic nanocolloids were confirmed by confocal laser scanning microscopy, flow cytometry analysis, and dynamic light scattering. Selective encapsulation of two biomolecules in each phase of the biphasic colloids was maintained even after thermal reaction and suspension in aqueous environment. Well-dispersed spherical colloids with stable dye loadings in each hemisphere were kept intact without aggregation or dissolution for several weeks. Finally, biphasic nanocolloids were selectively surface-modified with a biotin-dextran resulting in water-stable particles to ensure binding of proteins only to a single hemisphere.  相似文献

Selective ion binding by human lysozyme and its mutants is probed with the three-dimensional interaction site model theory which is the statistical mechanical integral equation theory. Preliminary and partial results of the study have been already published (Yoshida, N. et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2006, 128, 12042-12043). The calculation was carried out for aqueous solutions of three different electrolytes, CaCl2, NaCl, and KCl, and for four different mutants of the human lysozyme: wild type, Q86D, A92D, and Q86D/A92D, which have been studied experimentally. The discussion of this article focuses on the cleft that consists of amino acid residues from Q86 to A92. For the wild type of protein in the aqueous solutions of all the electrolytes studied, there are no distributions observed for the ions inside the cleft. The Q86D mutant shows essentially the same behavior with that of the wild type. The A92D mutant shows strong binding ability to Na+ in the recognition site, which is in accord with the experimental results. There are two isomers of the Q86D/A92D mutant, e.g., apo-Q86D/A92D and holo-Q86D/A92D. Although both isomers exhibit the binding ability to the Na+ and Ca2+ ions, the holo isomer shows much greater affinity compared with the apo isomer. Regarding the selective ion binding of the holo-Q86D/A92D mutant, it shows greater affinity to Ca2+ than to Na+, which is also consistent with the experimental observation.  相似文献

We prove the compatibility of local and global Langlands correspondences for , which was proved up to semisimplification in M. Harris and R. Taylor, The Geometry and Cohomology of Some Simple Shimura Varieties, Ann. of Math. Studies 151, Princeton Univ. Press, Princeton-Oxford, 2001. More precisely, for the -dimensional -adic representation of the Galois group of an imaginary CM-field attached to a conjugate self-dual regular algebraic cuspidal automorphic representation of , which is square integrable at some finite place, we show that Frobenius semisimplification of the restriction of to the decomposition group of a place of not dividing corresponds to by the local Langlands correspondence. If is square integrable for some finite place we deduce that is irreducible. We also obtain conditional results in the case .

High Efficiency Electrically-Addressable Phase-Only Spatial Light Modulator   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
To realize a high efficiency electrically addressable phase-only modulator, we have coupled a liquid crystal display (LCD) to an optically addressed parallel-aligned nematic liquid crystal spatial light modulator (PAL-SLM) with a set of lenses. Phase modulation exceeding 3ϖ at 532 nm wavelength was obtained. We obtained linear transfer characteristics for phase modulation at various desired phase levels after calibration and adjustment of the transfer characteristics of the PAL-SLM and the LCD. Diffraction efficiency of 40% for binary phase grating and of 90% for 8-level blazed phase grating, which were very close to the simulation values, were observed. The power loss of the readout light was caused when passed through a half mirror, therefore, we examined a setup using an oblique readout light at the modulator. Very high diffraction efficiency was obtained from the setup by optimizing the polarization direction and optical path for this light, and the orientation of liquid crystals. Since the modulator can perform at better than 90% diffraction efficiency and at nearly 100% reflectivity, various high efficiency systems utilizing such modulators are expected.  相似文献

The dynamics of semiconductor lasers with photorefractive phase conjugate optical feedback are experimentally studied. Photorefractive fringes considered here are rather static compared with time fluctuations of laser output power. Therefore, it is expected that a semiconductor laser with photorefractive feedback shows similar dynamics to those with conventional optical feedback. We examine relaxation oscillation and external cavity modes of laser output power in the presence of photorefractive phase conjugate feedback. It is proved that the dynamics of photorefractive phase conjugate feedback are fundamentally the same as those of conventional optical feedback.  相似文献

We consider a ferromagnetic spin system with unbounded interactions on the d-dimensional integer lattice (d > 1). Under mild assumptions on the one-body interactions (so that arbitrarily deep double wells are allowed), we prove that if the coupling constants are small enough, then the finite volume Gibbs states satisfy the log-Sobolev inequality uniformly in the volume and the boundary condition. The enantioselective total synthesis of the marine alkaloids clavepictines A, B and pictamine has been achieved through the highly stereocontrolled quinolizidine ring closure of the conformationally constrained piperidine ring system (2), which bears the chiral centers and appropriate functionality needed for the synthesis of target alkaloids. The absolute stereochemistry of clavepictines and pictamine was verified to be 3R, 4S, 6S, 9aS by the present synthesis.  相似文献
