Solvent‐Free One Pot Synthesis of 2‐aryl/Heteroarylbenzothiazoles Using Hypervalent Iodine (III) Reagents

In this article, an efficient, environmentally benign, one‐pot and simple synthesis of 2‐aryl/heteroarylbenzothiazoles by the reaction of 2‐aminothiophenol and aryl/heteroaryl aldehydes mediated by hypervalent iodine (III) reagents under solvent‐free condition at room temperature is demonstrated. All the reactions were carried out by grinding the reactants (2‐aminothiophenol and aryl/heteroaryl aldehydes) with hypervalent iodine (III) reagents in a mortar with pestle. Phenyliodine bistrifluoroacetate act as an efficient oxidizing reagent in comparison to iodobenzene diacetate in term of reaction time but yields are comparative. The advantages of this protocol are the one‐step procedure, mild reaction conditions, high yields of the products, and no side reactions.     

Residual properties of unit loops and augmentation ideals of alternative loop rings

In this paper we study the lattice of all preradicals on a ring R. We describe this lattice, we prove that it is an atomic and coatomic lattice and we describe the atoms and coatoms. We also give characterizations of simple Artinian, semisimple Artinian, and V-rings in terms of preradicals.     

Facile synthesis of hydrophobic fluoroalkyl functionalized silsesquioxane nanostructures

New fluorinated polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (F-POSS) structures possessing a high degree of hydrophobicity have been prepared via a facile corner-capping methodology.     

Di­chloro­bis(1,2‐phenyl­enedi­amine)­nickel(II)

The title compound, [NiCl₂(C₆H₈N₂)₂], contains centrosymmetric mol­ecules with two phenyl­ene­di­amine ligands coordinated in a bidentate fashion. The Ni—N distances are 2.088 (1) and 2.096 (1) Å, and the Ni—Cl distance of 2.4635 (4) Å. The plane of each phenyl­enedi­amine mol­ecule makes a dihedral angle of 26.53 (7)° with the NiN₄ plane. Extensive hydrogen bonding leads to distinct cleavage in the bc plane.     

Water Induced Alterations in Self-Assembly of a Bio-Surfactant in Deep Eutectic Solvent for Enhanced Enzyme Activity

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) meet important requirements for green solvent technology, including non-toxicity, biodegradability, sustainability, and affordability. Despite possessing low cohesive energy density than water, DESs have been found to support the self-assembly of amphiphiles. It is very much pertinent to examine the effect of water on self-assembly of surfactants in DESs as the presence of water alters the inherent structure of DES, which is expected to affect the characteristic properties of self-assembly. Following this, we have investigated the self-assembly of amino-acid based surfactant, Sodium N-lauroyl sarcosinate (SLS), in DES-water mixtures (10, 30 and 50 w/w% of water) and explored the catalytic activity of Cytochrome-c (Cyt-c) in the formed colloidal systems. Investigations using surface tension, fluorescence, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) have shown that DES-water mixtures promote the aggregation of SLS, resulting in the lower critical aggregation concentration (cac ∼1.5–6-fold) of the surfactant as compared to water. The nanoclustering of DES at low water content and it's complete de-structuring at high water content affects the self-assembly in a contrasting manner governed by different set of interactions. Further, Cyt-c dispersed in DES-water colloidal solutions demonstrated 5-fold higher peroxidase activity than that observed in phosphate buffer.
